Tired about the lack of communication. Pre-orders on the 9900K should be shipping in a week, and I'll only let mine sit on the shelf so long. All I want is a projected pre-order date and a projected ship date that is from EVGA and something they stand behind. Been lurking the forums for the z390 dark, but if it isn't announced soon, I'll likely settle* for an MSI, ASRock or Gigabyte... all of which are reporting in-stock on NewEgg.

petmic10 I know I'm nitpicking here but the yellow capacitors stick out like a sore thumb. Other than that they look like nice boards.
seriously.. what is that? are those caps for the audio solution? i really dont like them. I mean.. they give off a sort of "raw" or natural impression, which is cool i guess, but on the other hand.. many they stick out (like you said) On a diff note.. i would buy the Dark but i'd have to RMA my quad tridentZ kit and order a 2x16gb kit instead. I think i have a few weeks left to return

I'd rather EVGA get the board right by being last to market than rush it. As for the yellow caps...electrical tape? But yeah, this is the first time I've built a PC where I've had to buy things staggered out. I'm waiting nonetheless, simply because EVGA's the only company that'll allow you to buy an extended warranty for a motherboard *and* GPU.

I'd cancel the order for the EK blocks and get the EVGA ones. I've had both in my hands, and the EVGA are next level. There's so much more refinement in the design. Don't get drawn into 1-3 degree C arguments, the EK blocks...eh. If whatever block keeps them under 50 C, then you won't hit the temp throttle. The illumination is hot trash at best. The cold plate design isn't significantly different from what they offered in the past, but the "features," sarcasm intended, they added to the RTX cards is lack luster at best. There's a few people on reddit that slam TF out of EK gear; I'm not one of them. Near everything else in my loop is EK. But, those RTX blocks. They dropped the ball, then stepped on it and let all the air out.

So I got an answer back from Noctua about compatibility of their coolers on the DARK (can't link yet, being too new - add https:// to): noctua.at/en/mainboard/EVGA_Z390_Dark Just by eyeballing it, the D15 will not work with two fans, which means the largest one that has any chance of working stock is the D15S, which is single fan by default - both would have to be oriented 90 degrees horizontally.

I know the cooler has the option to rotate 90 degrees but I was concerned about its clearance over the RAM, you need to mount a fan a bit higher currently due to the RAM. You may be able to run with it exhausting vertically which would clear the RAM, but just might not have enough room in the case. SimpleSpacer Z390 FTW is available for ordering!
I only filled out the Auto Notify like 4 times, obviously 5th time is the charm. Thanks for the heads up.

8th gen CPUs work with the Z390. tjcii So, will a D15S work with 2 Fans on the Dark?
I'd assume it would depend on how much vertical clearance you have between the top of the cooler and the RAM. For now, just assume a single fan will work. You might also be able to gain some extra room going with a 120mm Noctua fan up top in lieu of a second 140mm one. I just really don't trust the long-term viability of CLCs and would like to avoid having to use one with the DARK board. It would help if EVGA would weigh in on what air coolers will work without issue with the board so we're not doing a trial-and-error thing on our own. =/ For instance, it appears the (terrible name) Le GRAND MACHO RT will work, since it can be oriented 90 degrees to overhang the DIMMs and still leave 46mm of clearance, and unlike the Noctua, it doesn't have a flat-sided sink, so airflow from the front of the case will flow through the fins. But it also seems to be out of production and the only places I can find it for sale is ~$200 on Amazon and eBay.

I did not. I'm restating it as there has been no addressing to the question in 70 post after the question. Did it get looked over/missed? My curiosity on this is still there and I'll ask again in another week if it's not addressed. Is there a Z390 Classified motherboard in the works?

Probably not. The Z390 Dark basically fulfills the product at that level in the lineup. There also is no Classified K in the X299 lineup. Just the FTW K to the Dark

The X299 is EVGA's HEDT segment motherboards. We do have a Z370 Classified in EVGA's mainstream motherboards. The Z390 Dark isn't a conventional motherboard that I'm interested in. https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=134-KS-E379-KR The Z390 FTW is lacking features a Z390 Classified could have. If the Z390 FTW had all the Z390 chipset features then there would be no reason for a Classified motherboard.

Yes we have a Z370 Classified but no Z370 Dark. Having a Z390 Dark would Null any Classified Model as they have done with the X299 Line of Motherboards. As they have done with the X99 Classified their was No X99 Dark.

The Z390 Dark is not a conventional motherboard. The Z390 FTW is missing features of the Z390 chipset. There is a spot for a Z390 Classified motherboard.

Not a "Conventional Motherboard" Odd hearing this statement on the Forum. The EVGA Classified Motherboards along with the EVGA Dark Motherboards are Both Custom Motherboards and far from Conventional. Conventional is MSI or ASUS Non-ROG Motherboards along with all the other Motherboard Companies. If I were to compare them both they would be to the AUSU ROG Line of Motherboards and are as far from Conventional as you can get. But I guess it hard to please everyone in the end. You never know maybe on down the line EVGA will drop the Dark that everyone has wanted for the last 3 or more years and go back the overly large Motherboard format of the Classified line that everyone said was just to big. I just put to rest my Two EVGA X79 Classified Motherboards along with my Two SuperNOVA NEX1500 Classified Power Supplies. Yes I still have my X99 Classified Motherboard and will for at least another 2 Years along with the GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Copper Graphics Cards. Solid Motherboard with a Haswell-E CPU.

GGTV-Jon Looking at this thread on my phone, kram36 what features are you wanting that are missing?
The main one is wireless internet adapter. bcavnaugh

bcavnaugh Yes we have a Z370 Classified but no Z370 Dark.
Apparently you don't know what conventional means. If you look it says "of traditional design". The Z390 Dark is far from the traditional design of a motherboard. What's with your obsession of coming at me about wanting to see a Z390 Classified motherboard with all the features the Z390 chipset offers? I could care less if you don't want one to come out, you should care less about me wanting to see a Z390 Classified motherboard.
