I just read is a bad idea to do such thing putting together two different sets because it can cause more trouble... how true is this? In other words what I said on my previous post
"Ok I'm gonna go with the 6GB of 7-8-7-20 XMS3s but what if in the future I buy another set of 7-8-7-20 XMs3 and put them together to add 12GB wouldnt this be better than the 12GB kit of XMS3s with slower speeds?..."  would not work very well and would be more recommended to actually get the 12GB kit... why is this (if it's true)?

and do you guys think it would be easily possible to hit 3.4-3.8 on the 950 with 12 GB of two sets of  7-8-7-20 XMS3 If not would it be good at stock?

Also I am planning on upgrading PSU from ultra 650W to http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3973822&CatId=2534

Is this plenty wattage?

it is not good if you mix different set of ram, such as different brands (but not so much) and especially different timming/voltage. if they are the exact same brand and timmings ( do not worry you fine )  you can hit 4ghz with 6gb or 12gb, again it just depends on how much extra voltage you will give your chip. this honestly should not be worried about at this point. you need to select you parts first. personaly i would go with a name brand PSU like corsair to make sure you have no problem down the road. name brand PSU are much more efficient then brands such as that.

you sound like your very careful about build your rig, and you should be, however we would never point you in the wong direction.

The thing thats concerns me the most is the PCIe 2.0 x16 It seems that when I do decide to go SLI the other card is not going to be operating at its best because of that x8 instead of x16. But again I barely know about this I might be wrong.

Here are my results using two MSI Cyclone GTX 460s: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=648839

Temps in side by side 16x/16x to me were way too high for the top card, @90c.  In the 16x/8x slots temps are the same for both cards (@57c) and according to 3dmark06 and heaven there is no hit whatsoever in perfromance.  In fact 3dmark06 scored higher in every benchmark at 16x/8x.  I don't know why that is.  But I do know it safe to use two video cards one in 16x and one in 8x on the 758/759/760 board without hurting perfomance.  At least that appears to be the case in my setup.  YMMV

This is Awesome! Now I have a lot more confidence in the 8x Slot! It really helps to know this by fact/statistics since I am a scientifically inclined person!

Thanks!

Hey buddy, Well yeah I try to be very careful for 3 things:
1. I like everything perfect and I won't try it if I'm not confident! I will not stand failure lol! (Especially since I don't know much)
2. I'm an airplane pilot and in the process of finishing all of my licenses which ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. Therefore, I have to save as much
as I can either by gettting the best for the best price without exagerating  or preventing burned incompatible things!
3. I want it to be as future proof as possible! I'm very picky with graphic details and squeezing all the juice out of games (with good performance obviously!).

I have friends who can tolerate playing an FPS game with <10FPS, Well I CANT! (No offense to those who don't mind) The flickering destroys my eyesight and I will not put those details on low settings lool!
When I upgrade, I try to get the best for my budget at the moment so that I don't have to upgrade it soon after that.
I know for $200 that's not really the best motherboard in this case but I know I could be doing a lot worse!

even though I mostly use my computer for Flightsim X which requires no graphics card at all.... I do play many other FPS games and I constantly try out new games so I like to keep it as gaming efficient as possible!

Moving on........ What PSU's do you recommend? I want a PSU that won't go over $100 and I want it to have at least 850W. Again this sounds unrealistc as I know most probably go over 100 after 700W but just in case if I ever decide to add more ram and SLI the GPUs (BTW what's an average minimum to hold all this power in wattage? just so I can establish some grounds)

Falcon_CMH

I recommend the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution (1 NF200, 3x SLI all x16).  MTBF 500,000 hours.  Very solid MB.
I also recommend the Antec TPQ-1200 OC PSU.
Future proofing and starting out stable.

also very good options.  +1 falcon

It's a "workstation" board but it's definitely no slouch when it comes to overclocking: http://i4memory.com/f54/a...ng-guide-photos-18752/
