I've been having issues lately with my system, i'm not sure if there is an issue with the EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 1796MB card I have or not. What's happening is that i'll just be regularly surfing the web or doing what ever and suddenly the system freezes up. I can't reach the task manager or anything and have to reset. This is has happened a few times now. Also when joining a game of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 I ended up with a black screen and had to Task Manager and kill the game. Here are the specs of my rig and nothing is overclocked everything is set to normal settings: i7 lynnfield 860 2.8 Ghz Quad Core Corsair Dominator DDR3 6 Gigs ASUS P7P55D Evo Motherboard EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 1796MB Just wondering if anyone else has ran into these similar issues.

A couple of things I would suggest. First, check the cards temp, and second, make sure the fan on the card is spinning.

Whoops yeah I forgot to mention that myself. I'm running version 196.21, I had heard that the 196.75 had issues and was nuking cards, so I never did touch it.

Anyway, you should also make sure your Ram settings are correct in the Bios. Make sure the CPU isn't overheating. If all those check out fine, then the next thing I would do is uninstall the Nvidia drivers, clean them out with Driver Sweeper, then reinstall the drivers.

Checked the Ram it seems to be running proper voltage, so installed Driver Sweeper and reinstalled the 196.21 drivers again. See what happens. :/

Thanks for the welcome. I just got my RMA'd GTX 260 back this morning they sent me another GTX 260. You figured they'd send a different card if there are so many issues with the GTX 260's. FedEx is retarded, they left it outside my back door at 6am most likely. I found it at 8am, glad no one stole the package while it was sitting there.
