YerBuddy 5thduke does anyone know if ek full mb cooling blocks for the e760 will fit the new classy 3.damn harder for us with water cooling to fix this if it becomes a problem now i cant leave my pc running when im not home I'm hoping to have the 770 here by this weekend or early next week. As soon as I can I will see if the EK block fits on it or not and let you guys know. I sure hope it does. I'll say it again, and keep saying it...we need official word from EVGA on what is going to be done about this. I have a 760 board that I can step-up to the 762, but I've been number 1 in the queue for several days now and still no word on that one either. I have another 760 and the 759 that are not available for step-up, but I want EVGA to fix this.
Blades Just wanted to chime in. I did a test running GPU-Z and E-LEET with Furmark in SLI with my 480GTXs. My current was 58-61.5A on average(one spike to 64). This was after about 2mins run time. My GPUs settled on there temps at 62C though i am sure they would climb a couple more C over the course of 10mins. These cards really run alot cooler then my 280GTXs. My 12v rail drooped to 11.89 under load. I felt the plug with my finger and felt no heat what so ever.. I did feel a nice breeze on my fingers though from a fan in my system.. not sure which fan to be honest. These numbers are comparable to the after fix numbers of the gentlemen a couple pages back. This maybe a PSU issue? Perhaps the Corsair AX1200 has a better plug/pin quality? I hope this helps some. wetfit9 Anyone know anyone in the Denver, CO area that can do the mod. I don't feel i can/want to do it. AS of now, I have the 770 coming, but if i could do the mod, I would keep my 759 and send them back the 770. PM me if anyone knows anyone. Thanks ahead of time.
Blades So do my values correlate to anything we know? Are these even valid messurements for determining if a system is safe? I called EVGA to get thier scoop. They claim "yes we know about this issue, it happens in 1-2% of users and those 1-2% are very vocal". I dont know about you but this does not make me feel any better...
kram36 I didn't know calling someone vocal was hitting low? Anyways dejanh, your providing nice info here, thx.
emach Kram, you know that I know that! Thats why I said company/companies.
emach Well, if what your alleging EVGA said is actually true, then 1%-2% is not enough for a recall. By the way I am not saying that you are lying, I'm just saying there is no proof of that statement. Now if we dig a bit into those numbers and assume that EVGA sold 50,000(could be totally off) 758/759/760 mobo's and there is a 1-2% failure rate, then the risk of loss is 500-1000 people. Total loss would include fire to which I have not heard anyone loosing their house to this issue. But worse case scenario, total loss of house and belongings with the average home price in the USA being $190,000(per last count), and say, I don't know $50,000-$100,000 in personal property per house. We can have a number of $120,000,000 up to $290,000,000 loss. I'm pretty sure that would bankrupt one of my favorite computer companies Now I did pull the number of mobo's out of my arse and who knows the value of peoples stuff in their house but it sounded reasonable. Just thought I would take a look at extreme scenarios and see how much loss there would be to the responsible company/companies. Class action lawsuit on Nvidia, anyone?!? anyone?!? J/K of course. Emach
