Not a fan of being forcibly removed from the queue in the first place.

Bad form, imo.

As I mentioned in the other 30 series forum:
Nice to see some loyalty being rewarded. I think it's a needed change, instead of just post spamming to get to Elite. Just my two cents. I look forward to seeing how well it works and have popcorn on standby for obvious reasons...

Hopefully this appeals to most of the EVGA faithful and supports the community, but there will always be something that doesn't fit everyone..

This, while certainly good for loyal customers, is terrible for business. Business needs new customers to grow, otherwise it is shrinking.

So is EVGA score based solely on registered products, or is it also influenced by other factors like forum activity?

Registered products, EVGA Bucks, and Blue Ribbons.

Quick question, what does "VGA notifications are limited to 1 per GPU chipset" exactly mean?
I can only have one 3080 12GB in the notifications I guess (the FTW or the XC3 Ultra)?

Correct.  With Queue 3.0, you can only have one of those 3080 12GB models in your queue at a time.  After you purchase one, you can queue up for the other card, if you wish.

vodaje
  • I was able to purchase a card under queue 2.0 so my notifies shows "Notify Sent: Yes | Active: True". I was assuming since I'd purchased the card this would now show false? Since I have another active notify would this impact Queue 3.0? My understanding currently is no, but would like to confirm. (I plan to remove the other active notify now that the option is available, but seeking clarity).
  • While I am sitting out the next round of 30 series cards I am still curious of two things:
    • Will there be a reference to show how our score compares to the possible scores? (i.e. how bad or good is my score)
    • I previously had a 30 series card registered, but when I upgraded to a higher tier card this went to a family member and I deregistered that card. It was purchased from Microcenter so it's no longer showing in my account. How is this accounted for in my score since it's no longer showing?

No, the notify page will not change your notify from Active: True to False.  It will always show True.  Your other active notify will occupy one of your two slots if you haven't been notified for it yet or removed it on your own.

Members can certainly compare scores to each other in the forums, but EVGA will not be releasing any additional information.  If you registered the product and uploaded the invoice before you deregistered it, you will earn points for it if it's eligible.  If you deregistered it without uploading your invoice, then you cannot earn points.

Sorry, still haven't had my caffeine yet.  If I have one Queue 2.0 active notification (say the 3090 KPE HC, for example) active, does that take up one of the two Queue 3.0 slots that is expressed the summary bullet point:

Another way of asking the question is "do the Queue 2.0 active registrations affect whether you can sign up for 2, 1 or 0 Queue 3.0 SKUs?

Yes.  You may only have 2 active notifications at any time, regardless if they are Queue 2.0 or Queue 3.0.  If you want to sign up for a Queue 3.0 card, and you have both notifications filled with Queue 2.0 cards, you must remove at least one of the Queue 2.0 cards.  However, the remaining notification from Queue 2.0 will still be treated like Queue 2.0, unless you also remove that one.

The 3.0 queued cards (2022) are not subject to the queue 2.0 cards (prior to 2022). Individuals were getting an error earlier, but that is supposed to be cleared up now. What will impact your 3.0 queue entries, is if you have received a 30 series from the queue. That may push you back, unless you qualify for the exclusion of one item.

So is it your understanding that somebody could carry two Queue 2.0 registrations (say a 3060 and a 3080Ti) and two Queue 3.0 registrations (say a 3050 and a 3090Ti) all active at the same time?

Edit: Thanks Lee for the clarification.

If you previously signed up for a 3080 XC3 and a 3080 FTW3 previously under Queue 2.0, you may purchase both.  If you sign up for new notifications at this point, you may only sign up for one part number per chipset, because that would be considered a Queue 3.0 notify.

I appreciate the effort EVGA is putting into this queue system. The efforts are not going unnoticed. Cheers.

Sadly, it seems since there are many factors that go into one's position in line that there will be no way to track the queue progress. I would assume there will be no input from EVGA on this considering past experience.

so if you followed the previous rules and got a card, now it's "back of the line" for everything going forward? can anyone quantify deprioritization? do you get dumped to the bottom of the list from being a prior patron? or just knocked down a few pegs? do registered products offset your deprioritization? it all seems a bit vague on that point.

do registered products require invoice upload/approval to count for points? or just register? if the later I foresee some folks just grabbing random serials online to register phantom products that they don't really own.

Okay great, thanks for the reply. So having an "old" 3080 10GB together with a 3080 12GB is no problem since they have different chipsets, right?

That's a fair first reaction to reading this.  However, keep in mind that this still follows tier-by-tier priority.  If you are in a high tier of points, chances are, a lot of the people also in the queue with you also bought 30 Series cards and are in the same boat as you.  For the ones that have not purchased a 30 Series card, sure, they will get a quicker path to getting a card.  Eventually, everyone else in the queue in your tier will purchase a 30 Series product, and you will no longer be deprioritized and will now be ahead of people in lower tiers.

Registered products improve your score, but do not change the deprioritization.  Registered products must have an invoice uploaded to count, unless the product was purchased from EVGA.com.

I interpret this policy to read that you will be pushed behind anyone IN YOUR TIER who has not yet received a 30 Series card from the EVGA queue.  This would mean that you still get priority over the lower Tiers.  So, spend more, help more, earn more bux still gets you ahead of others... just not the folks within your Tier who are on their first card from the queue or who have a better score.  If you are Top Tier, then it is highly unlikely (although possible) that there would be anyone ahead of you who has yet to get a 30 series from the queue.

Choose... wisely

The obvious path for any pick right now is the FTW3 variant.  Although, depending upon what gets released for 3050... then the XC and not the XC Black (if 3060 queue history is any indication).

From the new 3.0: "Registered products require an invoice to count for an EVGA Score, unless the product is purchased from EVGA.com."

So am I to understand that a certain percentage of each stock drop will be set aside for each tier? Otherwise how do people below the highest tier get any cards?

For example:
  • 60% of 3080's will go to people in the Top Tier, prioritizing non-RTX 30-owners first.
  • 30% of 3080's will go to people in the Mid Tier, non-owners first.
  • 10% of 3080's will go to people in the Bottom Tier, non-owners first.
Or perhaps it's like this (numbers simplified):
  • The Top tier has 100 people. Each drop they get 10 cards (10% of tier fulfilled per drop)
  • The Middle tier has 1000 people. Each drop they get 50 cards (5% of tier fulfilled per drop)
  • The Bottom tier has 10k people. Each drop they get 100 cards (1% of tier fulfilled per drop)

I was wondering the same thing  ( notify button) , so like are people logging onto evga first thing every morning to see if they selling new product? I didn't now they where going to release a 3080 12gb model, I only knew about the 3090ti and the other lesser model.

Hello guys,

So far I have not received a notification or invite to purchase the GPU. I wonder if is good idea remove this one and add instead the new 3080 12Gb

No notifications has been sent according my notifications center at elite member. I am in the line for about 6 months.
Any good advice is welcome.

Thanks

Will we know what tier we are in along with our score?

I believe we will know our score but not tier as I believe each SKU will have their own tier per say.

I got the error that I can only have 2 products in the queue. That was supposed to be fixed but now the queues are closed. What a mess.

This is not an error, you can only have 2 products set to active in your my notifies, doesn't matter if its part of the the queue 2 or 3.0 system.  Was mentioned above unless I am miss understanding.

i like the bones of this program, but does it actually reward customers who stick with EVGA?

a friend of mine is trying to upgrade this year, his last build was in 2017. i've known him for years and when upgrade time roles (we often tend to sync up) i know he favors EVGA gear.

but if i'm reading the rules right, that means none of his EVGA equipment will actually count towards his score - his 1070 card would be reduced in score weight, but it doesn't even count anyway - it was purchased more than 3 years ago, and the page indicates points only count for 3 years from date of purchase.

just looking at GPUs, it seems weighted towards people who have recently bought cards, mostly 2000 series owners, or 3000 series owners who got cards from somewhere besides EVGA.

valuable customers to retain since they like to spend, if that's your goal - but if you want to also keep brand evangelizers in your ecosystem, there should be a better balance, maybe something besides a blanket 3-year cut off. who's buying a 1000w titanium PSU planning to scrap it in 3 years?

just some stuff i was thinking about. he just got an ultrawide screen monitor and his 1070 is creaking under the strain. i've been trying to help him get a card but it'd be nice if there was a way for EVGA's programs to reward people like him, who are on (what i consider to be) a more normal 3+ year upgrade schedule.

"30 Series purchase status – Customers who have purchased a 30 Series product from EVGA.com will be deprioritized in the VGA queue, and will become eligible to purchase their VGA notify product(s) after others in their tier purchase a 30 Series product.*"

THANK YOU! I've been using a GT710/HD8570 for such a long time now...

Does anyone know when the 3080 12GB que is going to be turned back on? Seems odd that it's been off for so long.
