Whenever I run either the scan on Precision X1 for automatic OC, or the new Geforce Experience Automatic Tuning feature, which is supposed to do the same thing, my computer restarts (presumably after crash). For both, it happens at around 22%. I have one of the new EVGA XC3 Ultra RTX 3080s. I've tried multiple times with all monitors but 1 disconnected, g-sync off, all applications closed, and both run as an administrator. My power supply is 850w plat, and monitoring power usage does not show there to be an issue. I am wondering if it is possibly an issue with the card itself.

Can you run through unigine superposition on the 8k preset at stock settings without crashing? If yes, I'd just stick to manual overclocking.

It doesn't crash. I'm getting around 10% less on average in almost every benchmark that I try, so it may be that I got unlucky with the bottom bin. If I try even the lightest manual OC, such as 50mhz, it becomes unstable. I was hoping it was the software, but I may just have a lemon and need to return it.

So the issue is with hardware accelerated GPU scheduling. There seems to be an issue with the feature and the RTX 3000 series.

3080xc3ultra also crashes/restarts around 20% (after jumping to 200+%) of the OC scanner, did it twice last night. (correct 3080 version of Precision)

Haven't started testing manual OC, although at stock settings Superposition/Heaven/3Dmark all completed no issues, as well as a few minutes of Quake2 RTX.

Same issue here, running Scan OC on the special 3080 X1 version completely shuts down the computer after a few minutes.

Same issue here on an 3080 XC3 gaming.  At about 20 odd percent the machine reboots.
The nvidia tuning app did the same thing at about 25%.

I'm running a relatively new HX1200i psu using a separate cable for each 8 pin connector to the gpu so that shouldn't be an issue.

nvidia driver 456.55 and I installed the firmware update the precision x1 app recommended.

Same issue XC3 Ultra, got to around 45% then restart. EVGA 850 G3 gold is my psu so power from that shouldn't be a problem.  Nvidia driver 456.55

I have the 3080 xc3 ultra. When I do the scan... a bar shows up with 255% and then disappears and the FAIL icon lights up.

follow the instructions for deleting PX1 entirely from your system.  It goofs things up if it's messed up.  I doubt you'll have to install VC++ runtime and all that just get rid of PX1 and delete all it's remnants, and maybe do a registry search and get rid of those.  Then try rebooting and reinstalling it if you don't have any issues without it.

Then...uh...well I guess you have the XC and not the FTW3/Ultra.  I was having mad issues just like you describe but everywhere not merely on scan
until i installed the 450W bios and it literally fixed EVERYTHING.  I literally just set up a card cross ship RMA I'd better cancel it

I have same issue with my GTX1080ti FTW3. Shows 255% and then fail. I am using T2 1000 Watt power supply so power shouldn't be issue.

I'm having the same issue. Let me know if you guys figure anything out. I was thinking it might be a PSU issue but someone above posted the same problem with a 850W psu.

Same issue with the 3080 XC3 Ultra. 1000W brand new PSU. The auto tuners jump to 254% and then it stops working. Both the Nvidia and the Precision X1 tuners have worked before for me.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I recently ran into the same shutdown issues as mentioned when running the oc scan

Hi all;

Here to report it happened to me as well. EVGA rtx 3080 TI FTW, ran nvidia automatic tune, monitor lost signal at the 23% mark and computer reset about 15 seconds after that. Happened consistently 3 times. Exited as many applications as possible.

Running a corsair 750w platinum psu, amd ryzen 5900x , its a new build so should be able to handle it.
Latest Nvidia drivers, windows 11 clean install.

**update**
Hi all - managed to fix this. I had to go to windows graphics settings and turn off the Hardware Accelerated GPU scheduling feature.
Disabling this feature allowed the tool to complete, and it gave me a +81mhz result.
