I have been contemplating buying an EVGA 690, having previously bought a EVGA 460, then currently EVGA 580, however I am having second thoughts, whilst I appreciate most, if not all GTX690 are Nvidia reference designs manufactured by OEMs such as EVGA the poor support for utilities like Precision X have lead me to have second thoughts.
 
There are three pages of posts (60plus for over two months) of people who are either unable to download this utility (Precision X version 3.03) or unable to get it to install or run without errors.
 
I think I may decide to look elsewhere for my next Nvidia video card

Well I hope you find one comparable to the 690 cause you'll miss out on some yummyness :) Of course you see those posts, you don't see people posting on here saying how wonderful the card is, because they are too busy using it. Mines been running better than I expected, not a hiccup or issue I could not solve in less than 3 minutes. Now, I haven't had a single issue with downloading a single program on this site, ever.
 
Just as Bio said, quite nicely I might add, it all ends to be user error. Jumping to conclusions is a bad distortion, and basing the card purchase on something that is an individuals fault, not the products, is weird. And I suffer from a lot of thinking distortions to. 
 
I hope you reconsider, simply because you wont find customer service like EVGA elsewhere. 

You need to clear your cache or adjust your settings ,works just fine still ,its  your PC that is the issue with your  being unable to download .

It's what us Trolls do :) Your welcome but i would look into why you have a issue with a particular server and downloads where others have no issue with the same browsers  .Take a look at the Precision X skins thread also ,some really nice skins .Example below is a custom done for me by a member 

Im not going to argue with you but everything you mentioned works perfectly for me with a 680 card.If such massive issues were widely present with 3.0.3 the EVGA forums would be full of posts and a detailed discussion with EVGA asking for details and screen shots etc.

2 under-clocking is not used anymore with 600 series as cards dynamically down-clock on the fly
3 10C means you most likely didnt set a fan curve or have other case issues as the card will down-clock on it own when not needed full 3d speeds =lower temps all the time unless under load 
4 Again 600 series cards dont use downclocking as its done on the fly by the cards bios

System specs would be helpful if you really want to get this sorted out .Im saying what ive said based off your statements that imply you dont know much about the 600 series cards and need help setting this up and finding your mistakes .

I was using 3.0.2 and 3.0.3 with my 480 with no issues
FWIW if that 52 is at idle it would seem about time to re-TIM the card ,my 480 with both versions at 40% fan at idle would run 45C-50C tops  and 400 series is know to run much hotter then the 500's.

download doesn't work ... not with IE nor with Chrome ... it always use to work just fine but now they just screwed it up ... trying something new probably ...

Those that have had issues downloading Precision (or any of our software), please try again after logging out and back in.  We released some updates to the code we hope will solve the problems - let me know by replying here.

I do like how this one looks and how it shows the overclock and not just like +100 .But Afterburner does work good without problems,altho this one seem to work just fine ,or I have'nt found any problems.But don't  buy a evga card because of precisionX because afterburner works very good. I just don't like how it looks compared to Precision X.I wish evga would make thier cards with a different cooling ,like the two fan solution,because they are super quiet and no noise even when the fans are at a 100%.I think they got one out .

why would it? New drivers means little to nothing with precision working as it doesn't need to support them ? A different version with some things missing came out for the 650/660 i believe but nothing anyone is missing .

It doesn't work that way(or hasn't since Precision non-X started up to this current build of Precision-X.) ,Like i mentioned Precision has nothing to do with drivers Whql or Beta.Check the change logs and see the updates are cosmetic or tweaks ,nothing based of what a driver does.

Technical forum posts must be "politically correct" ?  FYI, all you "stupid" users of Firefox that can't download or connect to the EVGA downloads, I also encountered that problem.  Managed a workaround by starting a "private browsing" session.  Managed to log in, register product and download OK.  Jez.

OC scanner comes with(inside) precision X .Not to mention this isnt the OC scanner thread its been dead since EVGA incorporated it into Precision.No doubt the link may be dead now its not needed.
