EVGA folks.

Can you confirm if the EVGA power link is compatible with the new 1080 TI FTW3 card?

Shouldn't be a problem if the dual 8-pin power connectors are placed in the same location on the pcb as the 1080 ftw.

Right. But of you observe the card closely and compare the placements to the sc2 and sc. That is not the case.

Just took another look at the card. Yeah, it does look like it will have trouble reaching.

Its a new design so either they will make one that works with it or they wont. Same with other products we buy, not everything is plug and play. Give them time to get around to it.

Pretty sure we both know the answer at this point. Would you like me to ask a evga tech to review this thread so you can get an official confirmation?

Probably should point out that the spec's for this card show a six-pin and an eight-pin power plug.  That means you'll have to purchase the optional six-pin plug for the Powerlink.  I bought two for my Classified cards, and now I also have to order two of the six-pin plugs to replace one of the eight-pin plugs as the FE version also has the same six and eight arrangement.  The Classifieds I have now use two eight-pin plugs, which is what the Powerlink comes with.  I'm in the step-up queue to replace the Classified's with the ti FE version.

nutcracker1 in the original (1st) post of this thread was asking about the 1080 TI FTW3. According to the specs on this page: http://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-6696-KR for the Power Type it lists 2x 8-Pin.

Inside the box for Powerlink is the adjuster tool, the Powerlink that has two eight pin connectors attached and a SIX pin connector, which will accommodate cards with ONE eight pin, ONE six pin, TWO eight pin or ONE eight and ONE six pin connectors.  You don't have to purchase anything extra.

My error.  I hadn't opened the box yet and thought it only had the two, 8-pin connectors.  Thanks for the correction!

My aging eyeballs must be failing me.  I could have sworn I saw an 8 and a 6 pin recepticle on the card...., but that seems to be what happens when you hit 70.  (What does still work at that age..., hurts all the time..., and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work!)
