I think anyone who's been looking for a card could've known.


Every single card on every single website gets eaten by bots when available, and subsequently listed on ebay for +$400, this was a chance to get to the front of the line for something resembling MSRP.

So what's the current policy for limit 1 per household? Is it per sku or chipset or series or what? I really want the HC but now I've got the hybrid in queue I'm not sure what the safe thing to do is. 

Should be per SKU so you could get 1 of every version of the card

I'm worried about 'should be', when I google it the first thing that comes up is someone getting denied a 2080 ti because he bought a 2080, in a post a couple years ago.

Lol I think everyone at this point just wants any variety of a 30 series. I would expect all of these to be pretty bonkers demand till the product availability isnt this bad. 

I thought so too and was warning dabadger about it in another thread, but even that demand surprised me.

So I was able to press the notify button, enter my name and email address, I received an email saying I will be sent an email once this product becomes available.

First time doing this, does this mean I will be given an opportunity to purchase this card?

yes that is exactly what this means! you are in a queue that they will start working through once they have the stock ready to ship.  they go in order and send out an email that gives you 8 hours to make the purchase with a guarantee of one unit being held for you for that time.  how soon you get emailed depends on how quickly you queued.  if you got in early, my guess is probably a month or a little less, but no way to know for sure.  either way, if you got in, rejoice.  you are very close to having your card

Ooof took me till 9:19 to get in the que. for the FTW hybrid looks like I’ll just stay happy with an XC3 instead of waiting

I'm thinking the same thing. I got in at 9:14:01 for the 3090 FTW Hybrid and I have a 3090 XC3 Hybrid sitting in the UPS box on my counter that I'm considering returning if I get an invitation to purchase...

My XC3 hybrid should be here Tuesday. Think I might just give up on the FTW and relax. Haven’t really seen much of a gain with the extra power maybe 2-3%

I'm thinking this too, there just isn't enough data out there yet to show the differences between power especially on these hybrid cards. Der8auer did an interesting video on a 2080 ti kind of debunking the 3x8-pin cards by cutting cables and it still running stable, but i feel the power these 3090s can draw really is more than prior gens. 
 

Yea I’ll just plug in my XC3 run a few benches find a stable over clock then think about the 2 frames I’m missing out on and then let let it work it’s magic for the next 4ish years

I'd probably just take what 3080 is available. I got stuck on website loading so if it were me I'll buy it if I got a notification since it won't be a sure thing you'd be able to get a 3080 FTW3 Hybrid too.
