Okay but are those modded cards? I would like to know if there is a built in bios on one of the oc switches that exceeds 525 or whether we have to email kingpin to exceed that number
They havent been very forward with tdp which is disappointing as thats what you are really paying for. The only thing we heard official is that 850w is g2g which indicates to me that my thoughts are accurate
The ftw3 cards can already run l2n without issue. Yes the kp makes it easier due to its features, but 99% of the ppl that will buy this are concerned with better overclocks on water... that wont happen without more power budget
But 525 vs 450 should produce some good increase
This card will perform better than the FTW3 simply due to the binning of the GPU alone. This card will be the same kind that K|ngp|n uses, and they are heavily modded cards (all of them) compared to the FTW3. Again, 850w will be good for stock clocks, but not for much more. Most people buying these will have deep pockets, because this card is not going to come in cheap. It is built and meant for extreme overclocking and shooting for benchmarking records, and there will likely be a specific bios out there that removes all forms of protections and has a disclaimer that comes with it. That is something the FTW3 will never get. This card also typically has 3 bios positions, rather two, and one of them will help with water and ln2 overclocking. If 99% of people want to spend a few hundred extra dollars for a couple of benchmark points, feel free.. the card will likely perform better, but it isn't going to be a giant jump under standard water cooling. This card is meant for the cold, and will want to run as cold as possible. And yes, you would need K|ngp|n to get the bios, because they are not going to hand out a fully unlocked bios to everyone, and most EVGA employees won't have the experience that K|ngp|n has with these types of cards.

It can't come soon enough! While i've managed to wait almost 3000 days(fitting to land on the 3000 series too) for a GPU upgrade the last month or two here has me chomping at the bit lol. Super excited and really hoping to have Cart/Queue/Buying RNG to get one

If history on the kingpin cards is repeated, the stock bios will limit power, but the XOC bios will remove the limit.

Well, there will be a Kingpin HydroCopper variant. Are you interested in how this would compare to the 3090 FTW3 HydroCopper? HydroCopper is EVGA's name for their waterblocks, you can have HydroCoppers with different GPU models.

The KP will always be a step above all other part#'s as it is the top binned chip. The whole card is more robust and is not really meant to just be plugged into a gaming system as eye candy. Imagine having a Lambo that stays in a 35mph zone. If you really want to open this thing up the water block has to come off anyway.

Has EVGA ever actually said what "binning" means? For all we know it's some half-assed process of setting the clock to something easy like 2100Mhz and then running a 30 second power virus and saying "ok it's good....ship it". Only Nvidia (via Samsung who is presumably doing their wafer sorts) would have true leakage and silicon speed data. Without ever packaging the silicon you can predict which chips are going to be god overclockers (at least for Intel..it's probably the same for every fab) . Is that data being passed on to EVGA? I don't think so. It's one of those things where I feel like they intentionally are vague so then they hope people will make stuff up like "oh it's the highest binned 9000Mhz capable GPU's". My reaction is frankly if these GPUs are so hardcore 1337 whatever then why do they sell them with air coolers to begin with....toss that garbage away and lower the price $100.

I don't know but I hope they do something like that. Or head-start for previous KPE owners or something... whatever the case, I don't want this to be another FTW3 Ultra waiting-list queue. I am a little fed up with waiting lists and queues at this point... just want to buy the damn card, and soon!
