The general issue with any "binning" process is that the lower tier cards automatically drop in potential.  You're basically reducing the chance of each of the lower tiers of cards from getting a good chip.  It can still happen, but much less likely.  Whether Vince steals 1 or 2 out of hundreds that have already been heavily binned doesn't matter that much.  You're still going to get a top notch card with the KingPin.

This rings true to me.  One or three of the tip top getting pulled for one reason or another by EVGA, NVIDIA or other stakeholder in the manufacturing process should be expected.  On balance, the higher end cards should have the better binned...and I would hope that any of them allocated to the K|NGP|N will perform better than any other EVGA card.

Have they mentioned anything about a optional water block for the kingpin in the event you own a hybrid and want to switch it to water?

Still not clear. This is the only thing I've seen regarding this from Jacob

Currently to be determined, but apparently Optimus is planning on making a block for it, and I wouldn't be surprised if it performed better.

Those Optimus blocks look like they're about 10 pounds of metal, just a whole heck of a lot of thermal mass.  I think Steve used their FTW3 blocks on an early GN RipJay run, and I seem to recall him saying they had good performance.  I'm not sure they've released any production FTW3 block yet for other to test.

I think this is what EVGA wants you to believe.  There's no actual proof or statement given that these cards are higher binned than any other 3090.  All I would assume is you're paying $200 more over the Strix for a similar PCB, and you maybe get an EVC2 thrown in (which you actually don't because they don't even sell EVBOT anymore) along with an XOC bios.

In fact I'd believe that if EVGA actually were binning cards they'd be advertising the hell out of it as a reason to buy them over Asus.  And Vince wouldn't need to go and manually sort through cards to find the best one...he'd be able to look up info in a spreadsheet and go pull the one that's the best.

KPE have always been binned.  And they're only available in very limited quantities.  In terms of available quantities, ROG Strix will have 100x more supply than there will be with the KPE cards.  You don't advertise a card when you don't even have enough of them to sell to your own forum members.  Lol.

Proof the 2080ti KPE was binned. It wasn’t advertised. Does that mean the 3090 KPE is binned? No, but something would have had to change.

Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 K|NGP|N - Coming soon 2020/11/24 13:05:44 (permalink)
Its a process like binning.  They have an obfuscated / not public procedure for this...

For example with the 2080ti KPE, near the die something like "55" was written in red sharpy. IMO the 55 represented 2050 base bin. Pretty much every 2080TI KPE that was not a dud and had a familiar owner could clock the card at the 2205 or 2220 bin on air @<45c ...  While I could be wrong about which bin is coded in red sharpy, the process does exist.

Vince even mentioned it last year on the Jay vs Steve 2080ti KPE stream when Jay was trying to decipher "Vince's markings to determine the best card to start with..."

The 2080TI FTW3 Ultra's however typically clocked on water @ 2145-2175 with the best of the bunch coming in at the 2205 bin...

Quite right. I've got their Signature CPU block, two of their pump reservoirs and several fittings and couldn't be happier. The aesthetics are fantastic and the build quality is also pretty good. (One of the reservoirs vortex inhibitors was broken during shipment, and they sent a replacement pump top immediately.

I highly recommend them.

This video was made before the invitational occurred where they were hitting 15.3-15.5 on the AIO.

With the AIO, Steve from Gamer Nexus scored 15000 and JayZ scored 15300.  Both with some cents added on.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing some reviews that weren't done under time constraints.  Well...time constraint before they moved over to LN2 testing.  Cuz that stream was...yeah...it was long.  Right now I'm looking for one with the expectation of 15k+ Port Royal score with the Hybrid cooler guaranteed.

During the Overclocking comp, if you watch the video somewhere in the 9 hours, at the same time that Jacob says, "No specific time" or something like that, Vince says December.

I owned a few gens of kingpins. The only time I recall it being marketed as binned as that near useless price based on asic. Do I personally believe they are all binned, absolutely not. I don't think any aib bins their cards.  I am more inclined to believe the HOFs are binned due to their limited nature globablly.
