Amazing. These video cards went on sale and disappeared in the space of minutes. Items that cost thousands of dollars. Each. Which have no significant benefit to a person's survival. That is what a few months of isolation will do to a person.

And of course, corporate culture has figured out a way to maximize their profits- using Skinner's psychologic methods.- to provide 'rewards' at irregular and unpredictable intervals. This method of operant conditioning guarantees the fastest method of conditioning. And besides maximizing demand, there are practical benefits to their supply chain as well.  By  draaagging out the demand for as long as possible until the next generation of electronic device will be available. Think about it. The supply chain will never see a glut. They will never need to dispose of inventory. They will never need to discount their merchandise . EVER.

While I absolutely agree with you that the recent events this year have added to the demand for this card in various ways, I think you're miscategorizing the type of products these are. While they're certainly a luxury item and not a necessity, these are products targeted at an "enthusiast" market. Some people collect watches, some rebuild cars, but this is a product range targeting people who are willing to pay a premium because its what they enjoy. Sure, eVGA, and every other company that markets to a high end community knows that they're doing this and prices their product accordingly. But that's what a good business does, it understands their target audience and releases products at price points that consumers will purchase.

Notify just made available, which my impression is that there is a limited quantity that would be available and the notify was limited to those amounts. Can anyone confirm this?

Cool thanks for listening in. I was trying to but kept getting interrupted. I guess we will have to stay on-top of it next week. I'll make a deal with you and alert you if I notice a release if you do the same for me as soon as it goes up in case we maybe sidetracked at the time.

the 3080ti will devalue this card so much. imagine trying to sell it a year for now? Ultimately why I changed my mind.
also, the bin isnt good enough with these cards. I wish they did more binning with even higher standards. In general the bin is very lax with these cards.
It really rubbed my friend the wrong way when my 2080ti hydro clocked higher than his kingpin.

I bet any card that can hit 2100mhz will satisfy the "bin"

I would hope 2100 wouldn't be the cutoff point. My terrible FTW that scores low crashes the second it hits 2115, but can run 2100. Someone else I know with the FTW can score almost 15k in PR on air. That's more what I would expect the chips in the KPE to be at least. Either way, people are paying this much for 3090s now as others have mentioned in this thread. I'm sure launch of this card will be sold out in milliseconds. I hope there is some method of preventing that sad story again put in place. (Dinner photo with your EVBot as a requirement!  )

The advantage of the 2080 Ti Kingpin was that it guaranteed Samsung memory, which OCed better and achieved the most beneficial OCs. There wasn't much headroom in its core clock, especially at ambient temperature. Unfortunately, the silicon lottery will always be a thing. There's more to OCing than moving a slider. You need to know how to get the most out of the card. Kingpins are setup so you don't need to physically mod the card to get the most out of it.

EVGA: Please consider giving us a general time frame during release day when this will be available. Many of us work, have different shift hours (i.e. during the evening to work with cross-timezone employees), etc where we will have to plan in advance to be available.

It would really be an awful experience to miss out on this card for months/forever due to a meeting or separate time schedule.

Especially in the current climate of how these cards are going...just a humble request for those of us that don't have the luxury of being at the EVGA page for hours on end without prior notice. Even just giving a few hours range so we can plan around something like that would be really great.

I think EVGA not announcing a time was a really good idea. If nobody knows when it happens then everyone is going to be on even ground. If EVGA tells everyone ahead of time then the scalpers are going to get their bots ready. If you've ever tried to buy MIDWEEK MADNESS at 12 PST on wednesdays (a predetermined time), you would know what i mean. As soon as the time hits, EVGA's site is down for 15 minutes and i cant even open the page. By the time the site is up and i can open the page everything good is gone. Im guessing people purposely flood the site with bots to disrupt others' buying ability. when the 30 series hybrids were released, the site didn't go down at all.

I think that's good that EVGA is rewarding the people that monitor the site 24/7, as time is valuable. It gives the loyal customer a better chance vs computer scripts.

In all honesty i hope the KP is 1999 but if its anything over 2200 ill just go AMD for the first time in my life with 6900xt.

But, but, but EVGA doesn't make AMD cards...

Im not that brand loyal. Kingpin line is the only draw to EVGA for me.

This doesn't make sense at all. A bot doesn't care what time it is and is always probing the site. I'd rather they put the "Auto-Notify" button up for Elite members at a known time for about 4h - 8h ahead of listing it on the normal store page with the notification button. This way they can screen the notifications for unique accounts to restrict botting scalpers and allow anyone who whats to get one to at least get into a queue to where they get a unique purchase URL with ample time to actually make the purchase before it expires. That way its not a matter of having to try to F5 and then mad rush to try to get it into your cart and checked out as quickly as possible. EVGA is the only store that is actually doing a decent job in handling the shopping process with the changes they made to the Auti-Notify system.

I'm still torn between the EVGA RTX 3090 Kingpin HC or the NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE with the new EK Quantum Vector FE cooler. I'm leaning toward the KP because the additional power headroom and also I think it will work easier into my cooling loop, however, I really like the design of the FE (as is) as well as the new FE blocks from EK. The only concern I have with the KP is the width of the card with the waterblock. Does anyone know what the actual dimensions of the 3090 KP HC is going to be? Will it be the same as the RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA HYDRO COPPER GAMING? Trying to figure out if it will fit in a Lian-Li O11 Dynamic XL in the normal horizontal orientation.

I'm not necessarily brand loyal, but I find myself coming back to EVGA.  I've tried the other big brands (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, ASRock) for MBs and GPUs, but what always seems to be lacking is the customer support.  I've had to deal with RMAs with most other vendors, and it's never been as smooth as going through EVGA (especially Asus, don't get me started).  So yah, the KPE line is a draw, but the customer service (and typically good performance) is just as much of a draw for me.  Probably one of the reasons I'm sticking with Intel for the time being, love my Z490 Dark KPE board.  (the 3090 KPE will pair nicely with it).

In all honesty i hope the KP is 1999 but if its anything over 2200 ill just go AMD for the first time in my life with 6900xt.

But, but, but EVGA doesn't make AMD cards...

Im not that brand loyal. Kingpin line is the only draw to EVGA for me.

(the 3090 KPE will pair nicely with it).

i agree with you and its not a jab at EVGA but thats just all they have that appeals to me. I have a x299 Darkand the 3090 KP will go nicely and the 1080ti KP that got replaced will be displayed on a shelf. :)

^^^ I think the nex argument to the 3090 KPE besides the 6900xt is going to be the 3080 TI. I wish EVGA would make a 3080 TI KPE, but that's unlikely.

As much as Iwant a KPE, if it comes out above 2K, and the 3080 TI is 1-1.2K, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one not willing to drop the cheddar. You can still find 2080 TI KPEs on Amazon, so the limited edition argument is not really a honest factor.

I'd also agree, scalpers are not likely to jump on these as fast as the 3080s. The ROI is not as guaranteed.

Now all the being said, I 100% agree the use case is not for the average Joe, but we all know that never stopped Joe from doing something stupid!

I agree, I work 2nd shift and can’t stay awake every day for a week. I wish I knew what day/time to get in on the queue for one.

That's absolutely ridiculous and alienates anyone who works different shifts/hours/etc or has a job they can't just break away from at a tweet's instant notice. If no one knows the drop time, the bots are literally made for that situation. I'm assuming you have no experience programming a bot or haven't torn through their source code, but like the other poster said before me, bots don't care what time it is. They will win no matter what if they can figure out the link. Giving loyal members a heads up on time is completely different. They could even put the time on the Elite members only page (which will leak out, but it's better than announcing on twitter if that's what you're suggesting.) And honestly, if you think bots are buying all the cards at this point, you're sorely mistaken. I know many individuals who have purchased multiple cards to test with or run SLI with and did so without a single ounce of assistance from a bot. Just because some end up on auction sites or Facebook doesn't mean bots bought them. There's a mass amount of traffic when a card hits, it's just how it is with the current state of tech, look at AMD's launch. As this is a limited production card, you're saying it's fair to miss out on it forever because you work night hours with colleagues overseas and had no idea it would launch at 10AM PST on Friday or something? I don't think so.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but it sure isn't what happened with the Hybrid/HC cards.

Either way, hopefully Vince tells us more next week!

I think news will come down from Jacob, or a direct mail from EVGA to Elites (like FTW3).  Vince had a facebook post on the 13th, "INTEL Comet Lake + EVGA 3090KP nearly @18K today. Card goes LIVE next week, get ready "
