I've received the shipping confirmation and serial number of the new card today...still Part No. 24G-P5-3987-KR
I thought the reworked PCB cards (rev1) got a new part number?!

Only for internal use. Once they shipped my card it changed to the standard 3090 FTW3 Ultra part number on the RMA page.

So with a RMA'ed 3090 ftw3 ultra that couldnt get above 460ish watts at 119%, I flashed to 94.02.42.80.27 and it was able to get to 500w, and pcie slot power <65w which is good and what i was hoping for.

I wonder why the OC bios that came with the RMA card that supposedly has the xoc500w bios on it(94.02.42.c0.02) is capped at like around 110% tdp.  changes from 110%-119% does not make a difference.

I can confirm all of that.
My new replacement card (EVGA 227, Rev. 3) could not reach 500 watts until I flashed the 94.02.42.80.27.
Iam happy now.

Can confirm this too. Recieved the new Rev1.0 Card. Default OC 500W BIOS max draw=480w. On 94.02.42.80.27 508W.

Because they don’t want to ship a product that is drawing 170w from the first two 8 pins when spec is 150w. That’s how you’re getting the 500w draw. Not that 20 excess watts through an 8 pin pcie cables is dangerous they just want everything meeting spec when it’s shipped.

So EVGA EU received my 3090 today. Estimated shipping date isn't until tuesday though, hopefully they send it earlier than that. Anyone here that knows approximately how long it took until they sent you guys the new card? and approx how many days it took for it to deliver? :p

So, why does EVGA still name 94.02.42.c0.02 as 500W OC? Makes no sense.

My turn around was same day in the US. I had overnight shipping so it was like 3 days total for me.

I received a e-mail saying my RMA has been shipped today. So all in all, EVGA is doing a great job. They are fast. This is why I rather pick EVGA over others.

I'm guessing mine will arrive in a few days. I had overnight shipping to them, but I let them handle the shipping to me. But they got the card yesterday, and sent my new one today. That's good customer service!

For me, it all went pretty fast. Answer the next business day (since I emailed them late on a Saturday), and rest answers took pretty much 1 day. Then if you meet the requirements, you will have to wait 1-3 business days for your RMA to be either Approved or Denied. Once approved, you will get instructions how to go further, but you will pay the fee to ship the GPU to them, and they pay the fee to send it to you.

Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 XOC BIOS 2021/07/19 20:19:19 (permalink)
I got my replacement card from the RMA Program today, it's a Black Lips PCB rev 1.0 Part Nr 24G-P5-3987-KR on the label, but when i try to flash anything says 3982 and gives "PCIe Subsystem Mismatch". Came with BIOS 94.02.42.C0.05
and 107% PT on the OC Position and won't OC anything. So, I tried the 94.02.42.80.27 BIOS (tells me that there's a PCI subsystem mismatch), but It flashed ok and gives 119% PT. With this BIOS I was able to hit +1300 +105 on Port Royal, anything above, specially Core crashes inmediately. So I decided to play some games, for my surprise the card crashes instant on Metro Exodus, Days Gone and other games, even a +250 +50 will not work and I didn't expect this, it only works ok on stock clocks. I checked all, it's very cold here, winter and on air stock it has excellent temps and I don't know what could be causing this issues or maybe it's just a horrible MEM and GPU Silicon :/ My motherboard doesn't have RE BAR support but I don't think that is the issue...

Here's a shot of Port Royale, everything seems to be fine:

I forgot to back up the Original OC Position BIOS that came with it, anyone has it? I'm now trying on the Normal Position and BIOS is 94.02.42.C0.05 and can't find it anywhere.

Thank a lot, Sergio!

I assume you ran DDU in safe mode? Tried various driver versions?

Mainly mentioning it because I had a similar problem running the KP XOC. Games were stable with no offsets but I got random crashes with even very low core offsets (mainly RDR2). For some reason DDU fixed it.

Thank you for your reply bro, yes of course all with DDU in safe mode, but either way I can't even bench it, Port Royal Score is not bad, but won't run Time Spy on those Clocks and no game runs but on Stock, honestly I never seen such a thing. You have the same card? Do you have the original OC VBIOS?

No I don't but I'm pretty sure Jacob posted links to them over here, but buried in that thread.

https://forums.evga.com/m/tm.aspx?m=3248555

Could hit him up if you can't find it. The older non rbar bios is probably on Techpowerup too if you could figure out what the version number is.

Well that sucks. Have you set default clocks on your motherboard (CPU and RAM) to see if there's an instability there? Is there another PC that you can test the card in?

Thanks arestavo my rig is IBT, AIDA64 stable, most of these are very hard to pass. I tried all, other hardware, other PC the card seems to be like locked, dunno how to express this but as I told before I never had an issue like this. I contacted EVGA let's see, for sure it wasn't  what I expected after a long time waiting, hope they can figure out something.

I'm very tired, I'm on that loop that I want to solve an impossible thing that I know it's not ok but I keep trying, I guess many of you have been on this road at least once.

All the Best, Sergio!

Thanks bro tested old XOC no-bar VBios and new XOC bar and same thing, no matter what I do the situation doesn't change at all...

If it crashes while the card is running stock in another PC / the card crashes while stock in your stock clocked system (for testing purposes), then really the only thing to be done is an RMA. Unless you want to try a fresh windows install.

I'd say if it were no difference when you switched to card to another pc that's NOT overclocked I'd say RMA....

Stock tested on my main rig with a brand new SilverStone ST1500 TITANIUM PSU installed, other W10 version, same thing....Will test on my 9600K or 10600K with a PCIe Extender as both mobos are miniITX and end it there, I think that if it was Software things would have changed something, but it's exactly the same no matter what :(

Black Lips, rev 1.0, PN 24G-P5-3987-KR, Internal Number is 3982 not 3987 so when you flash it says PCIe Subsystem Mismatch, that would be for hardware change they made to the PCB. Both BIOS installed where PT 107% and from the first tests it keep crashing. Card only works at stock clocks and the more load and temp clocks go down, for ex gaming Metro Exodus EE All Ultra at 3440x1440 with 1980 Core (which is boost lock), will stay on 1925+. All this on Stock Air Card, the Red Lips rev 0.1 I sent could OC like a beast and I could game at +1250 +100 but it has those horrible clocks swings. Still I played RDR2, Days Gone, Metro Exodus EE and many others at Stock Clocks and feels smooth and FPS mostly like the ones I got with the card I sent, so honestly guys I don't know what on earth is going on with this card...

Thanks for your help!

**Update Final Tests**

Well guys, just finished testing the GPU on a miniITX board with a 9600K and PCIe Flex Cable, it does exactly the same thing than on my HEDT 7980XE main rig  :(

**added today 21-JULY-2021**

Card crashes also in Stock Clocks doing some benchmarks in all my 3 rigs :/

Second 3090, RMA'd 2114 just popped. I'm so angry I can't see straight. No oc, just the oc bios for aggressive fan and power. I'm so mad. This card didn't even last two months.

Because they don’t want to ship a product that is drawing 170w from the first two 8 pins when spec is 150w. That’s how you’re getting the 500w draw. Not that 20 excess watts through an 8 pin pcie cables is dangerous they just want everything meeting spec when it’s shipped.

Why didn't they fix the uneven power draw problem? Do they need to create a revision 2.0 board?
Why is EVGA unable to create a card with working power balancing this generation?

@andressergio : Silicon lottery. You lost.
