ericc191 How can I tell if I have REV 0.1 or 1.0?
Tested my card last night.
It has black lips, pulls a max of 462 watts at 119% power slider, but only showed 112% TDP in GPU-Z.
PCIE wattage showed only a max of 59 watts? Not 75?
You probably have a 1.0 revision. The revision number should be printed near the PCIE slot on the card. FWIW, you want PCIE slot power draw under 67W as GPU-Z only reads 12V and not 12V + 3V (75W max total for the spec, 67W for 12V, ~8W for 3V). 500W (or 450W if you haven't flashed the XOC) total power draw also depends on the game and the resolution that you play at. You aren't going to max out power draw on an unoptimized or old game. Try 3DMark Timespy Extreme, or Doom Eternal.
I appreciate it. I'll try the bios too. I use a 5900x with an SF750, so it'll be close lol! Will report back if I can clear 500 watts..

Yeah let me know too. I have a 750 watt and am running the normal bios fine but haven't tried the 500 watt.

Tiiii86 My revision card 1.0 didn't want to go higher than 463w on bios 94.02.42.c0.02 that precision x1 wants you to update after you install the card. It's bios for the v2 board with PCIe power fixed via special rma program. I was a little upset that it didn't hit 500w
Now here's the fun part I updated the bios via nvflash to version 94.02.42.80.27 and look what happened 😁😁😁
I am so happy!!🙏
Is this safe? Any instructions on how to? Yes it's original 3090 ftw3 ultra bios (newest one) i only flashed the OC switch, the normal switch have original bios 1st download utility here ==> https://www.techpowerup.c..ownload/nvidia-nvflash/youtube video how to ==> https://www.youtube.com/w...TsEK1-MBqdk&t=307sBios here ==> https://www.techpowerup.c...a-rtx3090-24576-210329Good luck! I can confirm this simple method worked for my 3090 FTW3. And I'm using a lil SF750.. fully expected my PC to shut down! Lol https://i.imgur.com/gnWVIvC.png

as mentioned before, quake 2 RTX is a great indicator of how much power draw your 3090 ftw ultra gpu can pull.

You guys want to hear something crazy!? After watching that Linus video about cheap slow RAM, I went to check my 16gb Crucial sticks and it's using that same crap! No wonder it was only 70 bucks for "3600" mhz.
Just bought some g.skill 3600 mhz and will see if it changes my scores.

My card is the old red lipped 2014 serial one. It hits 82W max on PCI-E and maxes out at 480-490W for fraction of seconds in Quake II RTX but will average between 445-465W. Is it worth it to try the special RMA program? I've seen people worse than my old card even if it is revision 1.0. Can the RMA cards hit 500W on average in Quake II RTX?

You might be denied the 3090OC RMA, but a regular RMA is in order and should not be denied since you shouldn't see more than 67W on the PCIE slot power as read by GPU-Z (it doesn't read 12V + 3V wattage, just 12V wattage). But requesting an RMA is up to you, since your total draw is nice. It's just that your PCIE power draw is way, way over the PCIE slot power spec - probably around 90W total draw - but with a high end motherboard that may be OK, or it might not be (it is out of a universal spec, after all).

Hi guys, I've got a 3090 FTW3 Ultra (24G-P5-3987-KR), PCB rev0.1 and thought I was clear of this issue until I saw the post earlier in this thread about GPU-Z only reading PCIe Slot Power from the 12V line - I'm seeing in excess of 67W on this on a regular basis. I ran the Time Spy Extreme Stress Test, with the basic (non-OC) bios (94.02.42.80.AD) and even removed my custom GPU fan curves, setting Precision X1 to its default settings. GPU-Z showed a max. PCIe Slot Power of 69.7W, and max. 8-Pin powers of 137.0W, 147.8W, 72.7W on 8-pin #1, #2, and #3 respectively, for a max. Board Power Draw of 425.8W (please see screenshot, below). I'm afraid I've only read a fraction of this thread (not all 227 pages ) so please could you tell me: - Should I be concerned by this result? Specifically, the high PCIe Slot Power and/or 8-Pin power imbalance?
- Should I consider getting in touch with EVGA for the special RMA?
I'm intending to watercool my 3090 later in the year, so I'd really like to make sure I've got a board that's up to spec before I start down that road! Thank you in advance!

Following on from my previous post, above: This evening I ran the Time Spy Extreme Stress Test with the OC bios (94.02.42.80.27) and default Precision X1 settings, but raised the power limit to 107% (temperature limit raised to 91C, accordingly). I then flashed the XOC bios (confusingly also numbered 94.02.42.80.27) and ran the test again, with default Precision X1 settings, and a power limit of 119% (91C temp limit, again). I'm not overclocking the card for these tests because I want to keep the number of variables/considerations low. For the OC bios:The max. PCIe Slot Power was 72.4W Max. 8-Pin Powers were 148.9W, 160.1W, 79.5W for #1, #2, #3 respectively. Max. Board Power Draw was 460.4W. For the XOC bios:The max. PCIe Slot Power was 77.6W Max. 8-Pin Powers were 160.3W, 172.5W, 88.6W for #1, #2, #3 respectively. Max. Board Power Draw was 498.9W. Max. PCIe Slot Power exceeds the "safe" 67W quoted for this reading, and the 8-Pin powers are heavily imbalanced. How concerned should I be about this?

See post 2 on page 1 for consolidated 3090 OC RMA program info. Pin 3 is reason to 3090 OC RMA program, and the PCIE slot power draw is out of spec as well. How concerned should you be? Well, pin 3 is w/e for concern except for getting a new card, and if you want to know more about the universal PCIE slot power standard of 75W (67W as read by GPU-Z), read up in this thread or google. It's been beaten to death here hundreds of times.

I've sent an email yesterday to the 3090oc mail. I guess we'll just wait for an answer now! =) According to the warranty it shouldn't be any problems.

ericc191 Hmm, I just received this card today. Can someone tell me the things I need to check for? It is second hand. Thanks for any help.
Even if its second hand you still got warranty.
