Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 XOC BIOS BETA

zenixxinez Hi there! I downloaded both the 3987K9402428027.exe file and the 3987_OC_500W.exe file and tried running both but they both give me the error below. "No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update." I have attempted to run each of those files with the switch in the OC position as those are the OC BOISes. I also attempted to run the exe files as admin with no luck. When I run the file I hear the "device disconnected" sound that windows makes so that might hint at the problem. I am indeed running a FTW3 Ultra. Below I have attached screen shots detailing the error message, my current bios version and my product number. Imgur album link JIC: Please let me know what to do.
It's a pci id mismatch (you're card is probably 3982 rather than 3987 in bios, even though it's the same, EVGA uses 3982 as a part number internally for 3090oc program re poop lacement cards). It's not a problem. You can use nvflash to force a 3987 bios and then use that update utility, but it's not worth it. I noticed slightly worse performance with the bios in this post than the one that shipped with my RMA past week (just got the card). IF you decide to flash an older 3987 bios and use the .exe in this thread, MAKE SURE to backup your current bios (you can use GPU-Z to do this). A bit of googling and reading will tell you all you need to know.

Looks like this isn't sticked any more - hopefully people can still find it when they have issues that've been beaten to death... errr, discussed here.

My cards are on RMA, hopefully I get non-faulty cards back. Some of technicals from seller don't even know about the problems with high wattage pulling from PCIe, and black screen crashing from EVGA.

Tiiii86 They answered me with this. What should I do?
Regular RMA then, and let them know that you'll be RMAing until that third party software reads 67W or under, like all properly functioning PCIE compliant video cards do.
Don't give up... they have provided you with out of spec card which violates PCIE standard. Also argument that you should be using voltmeter is void unless the admit that internal sensors on the card does not provide accurate information. Note that PCIE standard is 75W (tops) which consist from (12V and 3.3V) GPU-Z measures only 12V thus the exact W slot usage may be over 90W. Also please note that regular RMA will grant you most probably refurb card of the same PCB version. If I would you I would insist on 3090OC or specifically requested that replacement card has PCB 1.0 (revised controller) kind regards Tomas
Hi Tomas! 3090oc@evga.com finally approved my rma. They revived my card today and i got this message Did you also recived same mail on standard rma? Or should i contact them

Yep, I have got same email... no need to worry about it. If anything EVGA is really good in RMA once you are approved. After you got RMA card check PCIE braced.. it should show version 1.0 which is good one :-)

With the new bios I can finally reach 2070 on core without instant crash. Card pulls less wattage than with the original OC bios from last year. I should clarify - crash in games, not a hard lock.

If you want the ReBAR version of the BIOS, I can provide it for you. Send me a PM with your part number.
Finally got my Rev 1.0 card - just PM'd you about this

If that were the case, a simple second section on the first post with the Rev 1.0 VBIOS executables would be easy enough to add.

Thanks, I didn't realize that was a hybrid BIOS. Looks like the PCI subsystem ID is slightly different - 3982 for my card, 3983 in the BIOS you posted. I wonder if that's just the ID for the hybrid version, or if there are different variants of the Rev 1.0 PCB. Edit: so it seems to work for my card - it's recognized as a hybrid now. Worst case scenario, I'll revert to the original BIOS. What do your temps/power look like for Port Royal? I'm getting around ~60C at the peak at ~475W

It's a little warmer here now, but Port Royal hit 14340. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/62384451? GPU temp got to 49.7C, GPU mem junction hit 76C, and GPU hot spot was 65.2C. How are your temps so much lower? Are you using a push-pull config? I wonder if repasting would help me.

piegoodman I haven’t heard from LeeM - anyone with a Hybrid Rev 1.0 card mind uploading their BIOS?
Look up a few comments. Well, my new card (Hybrid model) is running WONDERFUL. +195 core +1000 mem no issues (core peaking at 2175Mhz) PCIe maxes out at 65watts, with max board draw of 470watts.

PCIe maxed at 63.1watts, total board draw was 468watts. https://i.imgur.com/Z6lgXQB.png edit: just realized my cpu auto OC wasn't ON.. so my score would likely go slightly higher overall, but not much else would change
How are your temps so much lower? Are you using a push-pull config?
I wonder if repasting would help me.
Parts are "in" (case it open-air) a Thermaltake Core P5, and I have it sitting near the balcony door.. it was a cooler morning, so maybe that's why? Right now it is about 65F (18.3C) outside.
