I recently went from a 3090 xc3 ultra to a 3090 ftw3 ultra via the step up about a week ago. The model sent is 24G-P5-3987-KR. I did the normal DDU and the latest geforce drivers.

X1 also updated the bios/firmware at least twice then one final time for rebar.

I flashed the bios in the first post thinking it would help but didn't read the part about not doing it if it's a recent card.

Bios is set to Gen 4. I'm getting sub 60fps...usually around 30/40 on everything 😭😭😭 at 1440p.

Do I have a brick? Anything anyone can recommend? Have tried with/without rebar and toggling normal/OC.

Extra power draw of your new card is too much for your psu.

Not good so far from EVGA's 3090oc program.

Got the OK to ship in RMA 2 weeks ago. I overnight my card in. They got it. They promised a max of 3 business days until they ship my replacement.

Annnnnd nope. Radio silence. Every attempt to contact has been met with "we are working on it" while clearly they told me they have a replacement for me ready to go when I shipped in mine.

Now they just give me the run-around "we dont know the status of your case and sucks to be you without a GPU lol"

I had good hope for EVGA's build quality which is not the case for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra, supported by this specific 3090oc program. I had good hope for EVGA's customer service, only to get increasingly rude emails when I inquire.

Take your money else where, EVGA does not seem to be as good as people make it sounds like. I had RMA experience before with ASUS and Gigabyte GPUs and I would say EVGA is about the same as them, maybe even a bit worse.

Very disappointed. Do not do the 3090oc program. They will not give you a replacement even when they promised for available replacement for you to send your current card in.

On a 850w psu?

Edit:
Thank you!!! Yea these new parts are tanking things. Looks like psu upgrade is next. Much appreciated.

Solved my problems, just had to test my kingpin card. A bit disappointed that my FTW3 card had any problems as I have never had problems from an EVGA card. However, after emailing the 3090 email for this problem they said my card didn't have an issue. Well, my kingpin card doesn't have the same pcie high draw or low pin3 draw issue that my ftw3 card had. Also, haven't touched voltage yet or even finished OC'ing the card and already at +145 core and +1500 mem on PR. Obviously the bigger AIO of the kingpin helps but can't wait to use my classified tool to play with voltages etc too. Guessing even on the AIO setup I will get 15500+ on PR.

Hello
The serial number of the replacement card that evga sends me following the contact rma evga3090oc begins with 2112......
I have seen that many people have received an exchange with a serial number starting with 2114.
I am in Europe, is it normal or not to receive a card with a serial number starting with 2112 instead of 2114.
Is 2112 part of the exchange program for cards with voltage balancing?
Some people have received cards starting with 2112?

I think 2112 is China batch and 2114 is Taiwan batch - before the serial number was starting with 2012 and 2014...

OK, do we have any feedback yet on which (Chinese or Taiwanese) would be the better choice for the exchange program? Or are the two equivalent?

Just one data point but my 2114 Taiwanese card reaches 475w on the bios it comes with at 66w PCIe draw and 530w on the KPE520w bios at 75w PCIe draw.  It over clocks great and temps are good on air.  I wouldn't expect any difference due to where the card is assembled.

Similar delays for me although the Customer Service folks I've spoken to have not been rude. I did call EVGA RMA Support and not e-mail (that should not make a difference).

Had my RMA Approved and told card was ready via the '3090oc e-mail Special RMA'. Paid extra to overnight the Card to EVGA (also called EVGA and upgraded my return shipping to overnight for which they billed me an additional $63).

Called to check in and was told the RMA was fully approved and would ship out within the next day or two at the most.
---> Fast forward 5+ Days later and Card has still not shipped and now being told there are "inventory issues" and I have to wait on EVGA to receive the next shipment of 3090s or something? Seems like I'll now be waiting until at least next week- though nothing is guaranteed at this point.

I will say the Customer Service people I've spoke to have been friendly and do provide updates when I call. However, this whole process has been one giant frustration.

Good luck to you.

Likewise, I have had radio silence from the 27th of March.

We still have not had an admission of the issue
Nor a statement on the resolution
And EVGA are still selling faulty stock

I have posted this several times now, but I had Evga straight up tell me that the PCIE power draw and the non balance of PCIE pins is a non issue if you are pulling the correct overall power. I have seen lots of people posting things like 78w or 80w pcie power draw (which my FTW3 hybrid has as well) but that in itself is not an issue. They said that the software measurements are not for sure perfectly accurate and if you do indeed pull the right overall wattage, say 500w on the XOC 500w bios then you have a functioning card.

Perhaps others have heard differently but that was direct from the posted email at evga for the 3090oc deal. My vote is if you do in fact have the correct power draw just be happy with it as RMA'ing it won't really guarantee a fix and will just be a hassle.

Except EVGA went through the expense and time to redesign and update the product to "fix" this issue. No company willingly spends the money to retool a product unless there is a legitimate reason to do so. Either fixing an issue, or cutting cost. So which one is this?

Asus Maximus Hero XI wifi / Intel Core i9 9900k @ 5.2 / EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra (RMAed "fixed" version)
16GB G.Skill 3200 cl14 / 2x Samsung NVME evo 970 1TB
Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 12 1500w

For me, the rma only lasted 3 days, my card is already on its way. So on that note, they have been good. So I don't throw stones at them this time!

I don't disagree with you that it's strange/suspicious and something doesn't make sense. I am just telling you that I have the same pcie power draw "issues" of 80w or so and also my pin3 on my ftw3 hybrid is way lower than other pins, pin 1 and 2 are like 160-175w and pin 3 isn't even 100w. But the OC email said because I was drawing 500w that my card was "fine".

I am just trying to get others to realize that doing this whole mess of RMA'ing might not be worth it. For what it's worth I posted my 3090 kingpin results above too and you can see the kingpin doesn't have this issue at all.

Are you all using the US EVGA RMA?

The European after-sales service for me. 3 days of waiting and my card is on its way.

Got my UPS tracking EVGA RMA notification. Anyone else get the return RMA card UPS shipping notification?. I checked the RMA status online and it said completed? Is this what everyone else saw who went through the OC EVGA RMA?

Any of the pending RMA's have shipped today (US). Sorry for any delays.

I've been waiting for mine to ship since my card was received late last week. I am not trying to complain, but I haven't received shipment information for my replacement and am in the US, so is there a time lag or a stock issue?

So is there a plan for official BAR enabled 500W Bios ?
