hello, slovak killer, you speak about the xc3 bios? because yes it is one of the problem, we need to put fan manually each time, this is not particularly safe in gaming mode! we hope evga can fix its xoc bios!

No, that was with XOC F8 bios.

Dumb question, what is a fan curve profile? Is me setting the fans to 75% better or worse than a fan profile? I've only had the card for a day and I can get 14522 in pr. Still a fair way from some of the scores I'm seeing but not too bad

"Obtaining 500W varies from card to card. We are trying to understand why this is but seems related to silicon lottery. You can try yours if you want. Either way still looking into, it’s a beta BIOS, and there are no guarantees when it comes to wattage, etc. As you know there are many variables here."

So I guess 2012 (China) cards all win the silicon lottery but 2014 (Taiwan) cards all lost the silicon lottery?

Not necessarily; I had two samples, one 2012 and one 2014 and they both averaged 460W in RDR2.

RTX3090 FE already can push 70 FPS+ in most places on RDR2 4K Ultra settings. Did you turn off Vsync when you made those power measurements?

Perhaps try Furmark and/or Port Royal.

Got mine from Walmart earlier today and flashed to this bios. In time spy I hit 504 watts according to Nvidia performance. Guess I got lucky...

What are the first 4 numbers of your serial number? I'm willing to bet they are 2012...

When you set the curve on MSI AFB and then open PX1 the target is 100 not 119% is it like that? I'm on XOC BIOS not XC3, the fans are also an issue it does strange things like not adjusting them (MSI AFB I mean).

If you mean win the lottery means your bios switch doesnt work and did better with out the XOC bios i guess yeah you win the lottery with a 2012 china board. and lose over 140 core clock on benchmarks at 29C and score the same or less when the chip is at 55C

I skipped the demo. Is that necessary for a valid score? Didn’t want to wait and I thought the graphics score is what mattered but I am new to port Royal.

I can guarantee silicon lottery has nothing to do with the bios issue, let me explain. My card is drawing on average around 430W, why ? because for whatever reason something limits my core voltage to 980mv, as soons as I apply negative core clock offset, aka -64mhz on core clock the card shoots up to 1043mV and power draw is reaching 480W. If it was related to silicon lottery the card would be unstable at lets say +100mhz core clock offset, however the card is stable on this offset with XC3 bios no problem, drawing around 500W, so whats the conclusion ? Something is hardlimiting our core voltage so it stays under 1000mV, the more core clock u apply the less voltage u get. Im thinking that the boost voltage table is fcked up, but it might also be something power related.

I am also limited to around 430W. But on my gpu I dont have the issue of the voltage being limited. I have seen 1.081 and 1.093 several times. But in the end it does not correlate with a higher W draw.

I can get to 460W with the XC3 bios but with that bios my core speed has to be greatly reduced to get through any bench. Basically limited to +100 on the core with the XC3 bios.

I agree that it has nothing to do with the silicon lottery. Hopefully EVGA will rework the bios.

If u can sustain for whole bench 1093mV and still see low Wattage your gpu isnt loaded enough (as we have formula W(watts) = V(volts)*A(ampers)). So youre probably running bench that isnt stressing your gpu enough aka asking for Amps, either your memory and gpu chip arent stressed or u have some kind of throttling in place.

I was referring to PR and TSE. With XOC bios I have run TSE @ +200 core and +800 mem settings. Got higher voltage readings but did not come close to 500 watts. I am on high performance power plan and settings adjusted in nvidia CP. I am not aware of any throttling in place.

I had voltage tab in gpuz set to show max, so those V numbers i referenced were obviously the max it hit, I was not on the curve with a set voltage.

Okay if those number were just peaks it makes sense, Im barely running 980mV during TSE and never saw more than 430-440W, XOC bios ofc

Hopefully TPU posts it soon, I'd like to give it a shot. I wonder if our cards are compatible, does vbios care about VRM or controller components?

I am quite confused. My Timespy graphics score (19500 stock) dropped when I switched to OC bios, dropped again when I increased power limit, and dropped again with a mild overclock (+100 core and +100 mem) to a score of around 18500. However, my Port Royal score increased from 13300 to 14000 at the same time. Any idea what is going on? 3090 FTW3 Ultra

BTW GUYS !
If someone here is getting Kingpin card, can we get early bios dump ? Just dump the LN2 bios through GPU-Z and send it here.

Hopefully TPU posts it soon, I'd like to give it a shot. I wonder if our cards are compatible, does vbios care about VRM or controller components?

Nah its fine, u can crossflash any 3090 bios. Ive had strix bios flashed, which is MP2888A card and FTW3 is uP9511R. Im pretty sure we will see MP2888A on Kingpin

When you set the curve on MSI AFB and then open PX1 the target is 100 not 119% is it like that? I'm on XOC BIOS not XC3, the fans are also an issue it does strange things like not adjusting them (MSI AFB I mean).

You must instal PX1 for debug Fan and setting it to startup with windows in minimised and never touch it after, if you change any settings in PX1 all in afterburner is useless.
