Dabadger84 So now instead of PwrLmt on GPUz the limited factor I'm getting is VRel, I'm new to using GPUz to figure out why my GPU is being limited, what does that one mean? Voltage Regulation? or what? It also only got up to 400W power draw during Port Royal on the OC BIOS which used to get up to 420W on the same settings. I understand it's a beta, just giving my initial experience feedback. Should I reinstall Drivers after the BIOS update just to be on the safe side?
Make sure your voltage slider is activated and all the way up. 0% should allow 1.050v max iirc, and 100% should allow 1.093v max.

EVGA_JacobF Due to many users request, have a new BETA BIOS that increases the maximum Power Target. This BIOS is only intended for the extreme overclocking user and does not have any other changes. Please note the following:
- This update will increase the power consumption while overclocking, and is recommended you have adequate cooling and power (850w+ Gold minimum) when using this.
- EVGA does not guarantee any performance increase or overclock while using this BIOS update.
Any other questions or concerns will be answered in this forum thread only. Please post below your results and feedback! BIOS Instructions (Windows Installation):
- Download the correct .zip file below for your graphics card below.
- Extract the files to a location on disk.
- Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click Update.exe
- Press "Y" to begin the update.
- DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
- After update, restart PC.
EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA NOTE: There are 2 BIOS's, one is for the BIOS when switched to the normal stock position, the other if switched to the OC position
where bios for 3090?

Yeah I thought of that, tried it, no change... score is a bit low because of having GPUz open during the run, and I'm at all stock for the sake of apples to apples comparison to my stock runs from when I first got the card.

chase10784 Wondering how it compares with the strix now.
I just tested and was able to hold a steady 2100Mhz OC in Wolfenstein: Youngblood and didn't go above 63 degrees. So pretty much just as good if not better. Now that it's complete I can forget about the Strix and enjoy what I have without any remorse. This is an amazing card.

Good to hear, this was the main reason I was holding out for a Strix--well that and I think the Strix is built a little better overall. But I've been burned by terrible ASUS customer service in the past so I'll likely grab an FTW3 if I find one unless I get lucky with a Strix somehow.

You might need to do some overclocking. The GPU is going to have voltage limits on it's boosting I think. So even if your voltage goes up a bit the gpu is going to stop boosting. Also you will always have a bottleneck somewhere vrel is pretty common. Start overclocking it by like 25 per benchmark on the gpu and maybe 200 on the memory and just keep going up until you lose stability.

I can't tell much from looking at the idle GPU-Z and X1 readings. You're probably just at the top of the stock voltage-frequency curve now, need to apply an overclock.

Dabbled with it a bit, got this, and notice the PerfCap Reason is none: Only seeing ~431W draw, got a score increase, and the OC was using OC scan (then I rounded it up to 100 cuz yolo). Very interesting indeed. Seems to be working though. Edit: My mouse is over Board Power Draw so you can see one of the peaks, annoying that the mouse doesn't show up in the screenshot.

Thoughts on whether a RM750x is sufficient for this with a Ryzen 3600 system?

I have 2 strix ocs and only 1 ftw3 atm. I was going to flash the strix bios today, but this bios saves me the hassle, so its much appreciated. Now that they are both 450 watt. 3090 bios would be nice since the strix is 480 on that. However, I am still power limited. I would say the ftw3 cooler does a better job at 100% fan than the strix cooler does, even though by looks and build the strix oc looks more beefy and effective. I think the ftw3 card has some catching up to do compared to the strix but it is 40 bucks less at 809 vs 849. Hopefully we can get a true xoc bios

So I decided to boot up on my stable 5GHz 1.3V settings & give'er a go with the +100/+200 OC on the GPU, and this is what I wound up with, and it's once again showing a VOp VRel reason for performance cap: But that's a nice bump in score from just a smol GPU OC, about 550 pts from where I was. Edit: I'm gonna run it again with GPUz closed & see what I get.

An increased power limit won't make a previously unstable frequency suddenly stable. Never will. Never, ever. That is a silicon quality thing, and also depends on voltage and temperature and signal integrity and all sorts of other things which power limit can't fix. An increased power limit affects how much the GPU will boost and how soon it will start tapering off to lower boosts. That's it. I think that you will see that at the SAME over clock which was previously stable, your benchmark scores will be higher. Not because the maximum stable frequency is higher. Instead, because the average frequency is higher.

Great, but you're not posting any usable data. Set the GPU-Z readings to show max value, use the X1 datalogging plots and show the 3dmark plots. Just crank up the fans to max, +150 on the core and +500 on the memory and see if it crashes.

EVGA PRESIDENT NOW
Good Job 👍 confirmed best aib partner
Also, dont forget to show the 3090 users some love as well. Ftw3 at $1800; we could use 480-520w
Regardless, that was excellent. Strix who?

kevinc313 Great, but you're not posting any usable data. Set the GPU-Z readings to show max value, use the X1 datalogging plots and show the 3dmark plots. Just crank up the fans to max, +150 on the core and +500 on the memory and see if it crashes.
Got the things set to readout the Max like you suggested: I accidentally had TDP set at minimum, but the rest of the important stuff is there.
