Can someone explain me please: I used +700 mem +140 core before without any issues at 105% PT. When I change PT to 118% from 105%, its not stable anymore and ill get crashes. Its because of higher boost clock because card is able to pull more power?

Yep, you’re boosting higher because the more available power, to the point it’s no longer stable.

Lower ambient temps maybe? I get irritated when people post cards temps but don’t post ambient temps. That, and also using the OC bios that has more aggressive fan curve.

I can keep my card max 68-69C when fan set to 100% in stock clock setting in my room, ambient temps 25-26C but 100% fan sounds like jet engine

After backing up my vbios and flashing the new one I had improved performance and overall utilization increase in all games. Before most games were not using over 70% of the gpu, but now it's using closer to 80% sometimes, and I'm not even overclocked. I suspect it's because 1. Apex isn't very demanding and even max everything 1440p 165hz runs at 65-80% usage. But it refused to go over 80fps unless I max it out I suspect it doesn't have enough work for the card to do but it is boosting to 1980mhz stock when getting low fps so I'm suspecting a driver bug because it does this in other games. 2. Tarkov is unoptimized because well.... It's tarkov. But I also suspect drivers need work in this game too as I'm seeing usage as low as 40% when I'm only getting 60-80 fps in tarkov but again it's unoptimized so It could be that. Port royal scores increased only slightly (50 points and remember I'm not overclocking only setting the fans to max with 100% power limit) but overall this vbios is much better than the stock oc bios for some reason. Maybe I got a wack card? Who knows. Keep up the good work!

This Bios is really weird. Can someone share the original bios? I got with old bios with the exact same settings in x1 and fans 19250 timespy score. Now I get only 18.000, sometimes 17600?? Settings are +700mem +140 core +0mv Voltage 105% PT When I set 118% PT score get much worser. In all tests I have 50°C avg temp of gpu.

Please review my post about the voltage slider on the previous page. https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3119839 Without allowing the card to increase core voltage, you are not likely to be stable at higher clocks.

Undervolting is commonly misunderstood and misused. If you are looking to restrain the power use (and thus temps) of your card, just adjust the power limit slider down, the voltage slider and clock slider up, let the card do what it wants while riding the power limit. Power = Voltage x Current. The card will always seek it's power limit if not otherwise restrained. If your chip power is held at 200w, at 0.875mv (DC) it will pull 228.5 amps. If you are at 200w chip and 1.093v, current will be 183 amps. So by undervolting, you are pulling 25% more current to hit a power target. While chip power is obviously the biggest generator of heat, higher current flowing through fixed size PCB traces (or wires in general) will also produce more heat to deliver a target power level. There is no point in using this bios with an undervolt unless you are running Furmark 0x MSAA or some other crazy high power load. If you have locked a low voltage, there are few loads that will pull enough power to reach the stock 380w limit, nor will it improve the ability to clock higher at low voltages. The typical ambient is 68F or 20C. Your 26C automatically adds 6C. So 63C isn't bad. You may have poor case air flow, with small vents and large glass panels, a front mount AIO restricting air flow, or a dead spot around the card where it can intake it's own exhaust.

Read the post again. Lock your voltage at 1.093v and see what you get.

So I've been doing some fiddling on this OC XOC BIOS this morning, note that this is at completely stock on the entire system EXCEPT power slider & voltage sliders maxed, & the vRAM which is set to +500 (I'm testing at that before I go further): Pretty impressed with that Port Royal result in particular.

Mine is the same in benchmarks, i didn't get more or less (It was faster in timespy as a result of using the full 450 watts in some parts). However I did notice a change in at least one game, it could have been temps being lower, or something else but after lowering it a bit and still crashing I put up the overlay and noticed that the the frame limited game (wolfenstein: youngblood limiting in nv contorl panel to 117fps was boosting to 2055 instead of 2040 the day before where it was stable) This wasn't a power thing because it was in the low 300ish watts, but it looks like the temp/clock curves are modified, or there is a max power component of the curve. Adjusting the OC so that the game hit 2040 max again made it stable at about 45 ticks less. It really wasn't underclocked from where it was before the bios changed, it just didn't need the extra boost to get there...

He hasn't turned up his voltage slider (+0, see post above), so there's a good chance the card will crash if it tries to pick a higher clock now that it has the power to do so, without having the voltage needed for stability.

For anyone wondering how much these fans draw on the GPU: 0%: 21-22W Board Power Draw idle 75%: 26-27W Board Power Draw idle 100% 32-34W Board Power Draw idle So just the fans suck about 13W of your total power limit if you stick them at 100%... based on what JayzTwoCents saw on temperatures, I'd recommend sticking to a max fan speed of 75-80% even while overclock testing, so that you're not gimping your power limit too much... every watt counts.

That's what I'm doing, left my Normal as the Normal BIOS the card shipped with, flashed the OC BIOS to the 450W OC BIOS with the tool.

Firmware updates get thru precision, never seen bios updates thru there. I would guess even the final bio will be a downloadable exe like here.
