Funnily enough I received emails today for the first time since launch that the Hybrid and HydroCopper were in stock on the EU web store.

Managed to get in and order a Hybrid direct from EVGA :D  The way I'd prefer it.  Now to cancel that order from the UK...

For those still waiting, I've noticed it helps to sign up for the alert daily just incase.

I've had some email address fail to get notifications after 2-3 days of signing up.

Sorry in advance for the newbie question...

When a card doesn't include a backplate, what does that mean?  What exactly is a backplate and why wouldn't one be included?  Can you still use the card without a backplate?

Lastly, where would one order a backplate for this card?

Afaik, backplates can improve cooling on your GPU and they are also there for aesthetics (just look at a card with and without a backplate and you'll see why anyone would want one). They aren't necessary for the card to run at all so you pay more to get them. Usually, they cost around $10 to $20. EVGA store has backplates for sale.

Does anyone else here get weird a little like whining noise coming from the ACX2.0+ fans at 35-37% RPM. It is worst at 36% RPM. I think it is coming from the bearing/motor. Any other RPM level and it is gone and very silent.

Is is it normal for double bearing fans to have some side noise coming at certain RPMs?

The noise comes every time I set the fans at those levels or when the automatic fan curve passes those RPMs. It happens on desktop or under load.

Is it a sign of something not right or just something I have to get to learn to live with?

Could you post a video or a recording of the noise? also, does it sound at lower RPMs or is it just related to 35-37% RPM?
You might be better off making a new thread with this problem.

How on Earth did you get your Hybrid order fulfilled 13 hours ago when my one is still Processing and I ordered yesterday before you at 11:37AM?!  Payment was even taken....

I was even told the card is not in stock and they don't know when there will be more...

To take my money and tell me the cards are out of stock, then to actually have stock 12 hours later and allow others to purchase it while the paid-yet-unfulfilled orders are ignored is disappointing. if true.  This is not what I have come to expect of EVGA.

Here is a link to youtube and my video.

First I have the fans running at 35% RPM and then I increase it to 40%. You can here the whining sound goes away. Then I drop the RPM to 30% and you can hear when they are passing the 35-37% mark and after that silent again. After that I set them back at 36% and leave them running there for a while. Next I put them again to 40% and then soon after to full blast at 100%. From there I drop back to 40% to beautiful silence and very soon again to 36% where the annoying whine occures again. Finally I set the fans back to auto fan control and they shut down.

It would appear that the forward fan is faulty.  There's a flicker in the video on that fan (on the right).  It means the fan is off balance at that particular RPM.  It does seem to self correct at high speeds, but that will fail sooner than it should at low RPMs.

Could it be that the sticker is not centered correctly and that is causing the wobble? Hmm....

There is currently no fixed ETA on any items.

In other news, no need to worry about Batman - it is in desperate need of a patch regardless of which graphics card vendor your chose!

You will be able to order from EVGA EU (which I believe ships from Germany?) or from one of their approved UK retailers ie. Amazon, Overclockers, Scan...

Can someone with 2 GTX 980 Ti SLi with ACX 2.0+ cooling report on SLi performance in terms of temperature and noise. I am still contemplating if I should get 2 of these for SLi or wait for MSI gaming cards.

So for all the people(Like me) waiting on the 980 ti hybrid why not just by the 980 ti and buy the water cooler separately or a 3rd party cooler that's better? What's the difference if any? I don't know because I"m considering that route as idk if I'll ever get one considering they always sell out in like 5 minutes. I hope I never have to poop in the next month

Depends. Do you want a closed loop like the Hybrid or an open custom loop? The only standalone closed loop water cooler made right now is just as unavailable, so you're in for a wait either way. If you already have a custom loop, then get the Hydro Copper, but it looks like that's limited too. If you want the card now, I'm pretty sure (someone who knows for sure please correct me or back me up) your only option is the reference model, then the EVGA standalone cooler when available:
http://www.evga.com/Produ...aspx?pn=400-HY-0996-B1
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998105&cm_re=980_ti_hybrid-_-14-998-105-_-Product

The biggest thing to consider: The Hybrid card is clearly better binned to the tune of the Classified and Hydro Copper version, whereas you'll be playing the silicone lottery at your own risk should you buy the reference or SC (with reference cooler) version and add the Hybrid yourself later on. Decisions, decisions...

That's best option, better to wait cooler than hardware.
GTX980Ti can work and wit reference cooler few days.
It's weird how GeForce reference cooler after 2 years is still attractive, they could keep him one year more free.

Well I just ordered 2x Hybrids from my local Australian seller 'Scorptec'. They said they have an ETA of 1st-7th July for their Hybrids stock. I hope they are accurate and not bull ****ting just to get orders.

Well anyways they said they will refund if they cannot get it by the time they ETA it.

He means you can buy the hybrid cooler seperatly and fit it yourself to a reference GTX 980 Ti to turn it into the Hybrid version. But the standalone cooler itself, is just as scarce as the actual Hybrid GTX 980 Ti.

Just received a new Digital Storm custom system with a GTX 980 Ti. No clue what model it is, other than eVGA :) Also not sure how to retrieve the serial number without laying this beat of a full tower on its side. So far liking what I'm seeing, 14207 3DMark FireStrike score, not even sure if that's good or not, but I'm more about seeing results than numbers.
