Hi guys, so first, sorry for my English, I'm french. I was on the forum because I was writing an email to EVGA because of trouble with by SLI EVGA GTX980Ti and I saw you have the same problem as me....

I Have two EVGA GTX980Ti SC and I never had any problem with it. But recently when I tried to update my driver, Error 43, No hardware detected from EVGA PrecisionX. The last driver which work well is the 385.69, all the newer driver, beta or WQHL I have the same problem. I have reinstalled my W10, same problem, tried on another PC, same problem, tried with W8, same problem. I was in communication with Nvidia because for me the problem was the driver but If I have the same problem on different OS and different Motherboard....==> GPU. The bios of my cards is the OEM bios, I don't touch anything on it... Do I have to try to reinstall the bios ??

Thanks guys...

You'll need to rma if you still have warranty.

If card is registered log on to EVGA and check Warranty status.  Look under "Member" then "My Products"

If card is not registered and you do not have original proof of purchase use this tool & enter Serial Number to check status

Hi guys, thanks for you reply. So yes, the RMA was my first idea but I'm not the original buyer of the cards, I bought them used...
I have downloaded the bios on the TechPowerUp Website, version 84.00.32.00.92 and the bios version on my GPUs is the 84.00.32.00.90. So I checked the differences between both files and....one value of current start at 1200mA in my GPUs and start at 600mA in the bios downloaded. I know I didn't have to do that but I copyed my bios, updated it with the new value and uploaded it on the GPU and....it work. Now my cards are recognized when I install the last driver from Nvidia. But, they don't accept the same overclocking. Before I was able to use the two GPUs with +200Mhz on the chip and +400Mhz on the memory without increase the Vcore. Now it's impossible. So I don't know if the first bios was a stock bios by EVGA or a modded bios by the last owner... but if it from EVGA, it's really strange. And I read on EVGA that the warranty is only available for the first owner if he has registered his GPU on the website. That what he did. And the 3 years are passed. I will try to ask to EVGA to send me the last bios for this GPU...to be sure that I have the correct tensions.

Sounds like you did have a modded vbios installed. Good thing you decided to try a reflash.

Hi guys, yes, it's look to a modded bios but the first owner say me he never touch the bios of the GPU. When I see the first tests of the GTX980 Ti on some websites in 2015, I saw the temperature with the "FE" cooling system is around 90°C. I had this temperature beforce flashing the bios. Now it's arround 75°C...
The bios in my GPU was older than the bios which I have downloaded on TechPowerUp, so....do you think EVGA or Nvidia have been able to "boost" the bios of all the first GTX980 Ti which was destined to the website who tests new component ?

Yes W10 is malware.... But we both solve the problem with flashing our GPU's bios with the stock bios... I think I will flash again one of my GTX980Ti and try one of your solution. But I already try 90% of those solution when I was talking to one Nvidia developer, and the problem was still here. The only solution was to flash the bios... And I had the same problem with an old version of W8.

Yeah I think so. Now I happy, my GPUs are ok, but now I can't OC the GPUs like I was able to do before. And I love to overclock those...maybe I will try to Vmod the bios in the future...I don't know. The first step for me is to rebuild my rig with all the watercooling....because with all these test I did, I had to put the GPUs in another rig so I had to unmount all my watercooling system. Now it's time for me to redo it...better ^^.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: Windows 10 is a service, not an operating system .

While it immediately sounds like Microsoft is killing off Windows and not doing future versions, the reality is a little more complex. The future is "Windows as a service."

I prefer a OS to be used   , once my copies of 7 and below are played out its all then Linux  where I have control more then say Microsoft  over the way I use it   win -10 = bad news for private users

glad you found a solution and things are going your way for now

good luck

Hello guys,

So just for your information, I was able to register my two GTX980 Ti with my personal account on the EVGA website. Even if the first owner had already registered the cards on his account. After that, EVGA says me they will be able to send me the latest version of bios for my GTX.

But, on my account the warranty says 3 years, and on the first owner's account the warranty says 5 years.... I think it's because normally the warranty is 3 years and become 5 years when you register the GPU on the site, but only for the first owner.

i think as the first owner you got a option to buy extra  years to the warrantee  on a new first quality card  .    then like you do a transfer it reverts back to the standard 3 year   and then what time is left on that from new  ??

''The extended warranty will be available for purchase by the original owner within 90 days of the purchase date''

https://www.evga.com/support/warranty/extended.asp

just may need to look at any of the warrantee info and read to see   maybe that added years could also be transferred ???

I never used it so .....

That is correct.
