Why founders? SuperClocked is using reference PCB yet you get a nice aftermarket cooler.

Blower type cooler was, is and remains a turbo jet engine, no matter how good it is.

Rotting with GTX 970 myself yet definately wanna play Mass Effect Andromeda in high quality, so also interested to get a Ti fast. But I want EVGA card, badly. Hopefully SC edition comes out this month and perhaps an option to make a pre order to guarantee the avaibility insetad of smashing F5 in store page.

I don't know if this is real , but there is this Screenshots on the web :
the Asus Strix 1080TI it's at $940 USD ... i hope this is fake !

It's not real, its someone trying to make money. If you are paying higher than retail prices, which havent been announced, then that is a persons complete and total disregard to money. If they buy from someone that is scalping and taking advantage, they deserve it.

Yes, sadly this is true, and some people will pay those prices. It's pretty disgusting retail behavior, but what Scarlet said is true. In the end the customer MUST get a proper price. I wonder if such people even know what they are buying - pricing is so fundamental to establish before a purchase. Or, I suppose some are just very rich and couldn't care less?

This always happens with new releases, so the fact it continues means people do get taken advantage of - but it's their stupid fault for not doing any research, or even basic cost comparisons with big retailers like New Egg, Amazon etc.

I am going to hold off a purchase, and check as many retailers as I can so ensure I get a fair price. Pretty sure EVGA members are smart enough to check prices carefully, but there are always the ignorant that pay these prices which encourages retailers (the smaller ones usually) to continue this scalping  pricing. In the end it's the customer who buys/pays so they only have themselves to blame.

In another thread someone said an eVGA employee named Ben said it would be MAY.  If that is true I am sad.

Yeah, that came from this post on the Overclockers UK forum.  Since that doesn't exactly qualify as an official statement, take with a grain of salt.

Hopefully the preorders with EVGA will go better than the nvidia ones, 3 people i game with regularly that are day one adopters tried to preorder the ti's and they were sold out in like 43 minutes.
I held off as i only buy evga parts, and i want two of the 1080tiftw3's.

Hopefully May 10th we can get them without having to fight over limited preorders, id hate to have to switch vendors to get the latest gear

If that's true, I'm ordering the FE. Noway I'm waiting 2 months for an aftermarket when I only have an R9 270 that can barely play Solitaire at 3fps.

are the existing ICX cooled ftw2's available to step up for this particular model, or only the stock reference ti air cooler series only?

Okay, I linked an Official Nvidia GDC video  on the 1080Ti being i believe only $649.00?? Fact is that that Person is a Liar unless it is an Official ASUS official saying it's so. Also, EVGA and Asus are 2 totally different GPU entities/Companies, not the same at all. So, Even if that is the real Asus price it doesn't mean it will be EVGA, but right now even for Asus i'll call /fake unless they officially say it.

Okay guys, for anyone that doesn't know Nvidia and Evga and Asus do make their Own PCB's /Circuit boards, etc. While Nvidia does make the GPU unless otherwise said lol, then that's is where All Nvidia brand Gpu's come from from any company. I've been up over 24hrs hours and am still sick over a month now, sorry if i si-spelled anything and grammar, etc. Actually, i will never get grammar  right unless i get paid like the Military in a CO staff position lol.

I should say in Japan where i have done business a Lot in the past, and i Love Japan :)) The prices that American's would pay is rounded to the 10x Multiplier when i did business there, but that was a long time ago. And the Japanese Currency is the Yen.

I hope the card will be release sooner than may. I think its a commercial mistake to release it so late. The big selling urge is now, and if the ftw3 is not available we will buy FE or other brand version.

So my guess is the card will be release in the next days

given the rate at which the iCX RMA cards are coming in (slowly), i'm thinking the ftw3 may actually be in may...but till we hear officially...its all speculation.   But hopefully they do release everythign in a few days...then the auto-notify clicking game can start for us all lol.

This thread would be 4 pages or so if it was not for the, over and over again of "What is the ETA?" and "Can I step up to it?".

Learn how to read guys, like seriously. I know most of you are children, but there are adults here too and they would appreciate not checking this thread to see the same BS over and over and over.

My wuestion.. no matter the release date, why dont people go off that concept immediately for the Ti in general?

Kind of like Titan owners, soon after its release, a Ti comes along with the same performance at a lower cost... why didnt they just wait for the Ti? That is especially true this generation.

This was  true with Maxwells as well - Titan X was released on March and 980Ti in the beginning of June. Vert short timegap.

And there won't be any consumer grade Volta cards in this year October.

Titans come first. That means getting that level of performance earliest. 1080Ti is for those who can't afford Titans. It's all about the paycheck tbh.

I assure you, we will get new Titans before the end of this year. :)

I cant believe the amount of people falling over themselves to replace a GPU they bought weeks ago etc .For what actual gain??? More money than brains it seems

lol! I admit I will be upgrading to a 1080ti, but that is so I can get ansel and other pascal features. I am also coming from a 980ti. I had a 1070 that I used for folding only, not gaming.

Yeah.

GeForce GTX Titan (Kepler) February 19, 2013 (start)

GeForce GTX Titan Black (Kepler) February 18, 2014 (12 months)

GeForce GTX Titan X Maxwell March 17, 2015 (13 months)

GeForce GTX Titan X Pascal August 2, 2016 (17 months)

Are you saying they wouldn't slip for more than a year? They already slipped from Kepler to Maxwell and then to Pascal.

I am getting one to move upgrade my Folding.  Currently have 1080FTW, 1070FTW in main machine and 2 1070SC in other machine.  1070FTW will move to second machine and slowest of those 1070's will go to my sons computer to replace his original Titan.

Volta won't come in this year fully enabled, anymore than other architectures did. HBM/2 is going to be hamstrung is speed potential, slowly being improved through Commercial cards/usage to full speeds, Gddr6 faces some integration problems also. Lots of co-joined requirements have to dealt with,,,, will Volta come out faster this year than Pascal, sure, maybe 20%( and more expensive than Pascal- not like Pascal-Pascal overall is higher priced the Maxwell and the one before, which is higher than the one before, call it technology cost, call it depreciation of the dollar, call it ingrained to fiat for labor exchange...whatever) , but like every issuance it will take a year before the "claim", 40% faster, is a reality.
So I will get the particular and last Pascal,1080 Ti, (hybrid), last of the Pascal series, then wait for Volta to reach the price points, the '40%', the Hybrid' stage once again..
then the same for whatever follows after Volta.
Just to say, if dollar to dollar justification is the issue, this issuance is the best, imo, of the Pascal and Volta isn't going to be there for 18 months?><.. again..Imo.

Any idea on this card having a DVI port since it will not be blower style? My monitor only supports the 144hz refresh rate over the DVI port (No DisplayPort). Dont really want to buy a new monitor along with this card lol
