It crashes even with an underclock, which is why I'm looking for this to fix it. Doesn't say anything about not being for samsung users.

I wasn't getting the checkerboard of death, but 373.06 kept crashing. Not bad at all if it holds. I was able to eek out another +155 MHz out of the memory. /crosses fingers. HUGE improvement for my card! http://cdn.overclock.net/7/74/74df544e_Capture.PNG

I just wanted to make sure. I bought my system pre built from Cyberpower and wanted to make sure before I went ahead and flashed it.
Thanks for all the help guys.
Excited to give it a try to get my stock gtx 1070 ftw running stable. I do not care about overclocking, just want a stable ftw card.

You should trade your samsung memory ftw to me immediately for my micron...j/k. If you have a samsung memory 1070 you do not have to do anything with these files. I believe these files are for micron memory folks only.

Or not! I'll trade you my 2 970 ftw+'s plus 1070 sc micron for that 1070 ftw... On a serious note, I noticed core voltage is ramped up to 1.081v compared to the previous 1.075v. Not a bad OC at all. From 8008 MHz to 8812 MHz.

so all the bios updates there have part numbers ending in KR as where my card ends in KB. Is this bios update intended for my card despite that or does that qualify as a non matching part number? Or is that a typo on the list?

I installed the new bios but I wanna be sure everything went as it should have gone. The first thing I did was put my GPU (08G-P4-6276-KR) in slave mode, aka second bios. Then I installed the new (secondary bios). I ran the exe file and pressed y. Everything went very quick and only a brief second I could read the first sentence "install successful ...", I couldn't read the rest though because the cmd window closed automatic. Then I restaredbut had to press power button. Screen wasn't going to native so I DDU and removed all drivers and reinstalled the latest. I resarted again, this time everything went fine. GPU Z says im on 86.04.50.01.70 and Nvidia control panel as swell. Don't think everything went as it supposed to but am I good?

Like I said in another topic the BIOS update has allowed me to go from 8500MHz to 8900MHz without crashing where as 8600MHz would trigger checkerboarding and a BSOD. Had it briefly at 9000MHz but it didn't seem to like that.

Previous I was at +550 total mem (+275 in Afterburner) no artifacts or checker. Would checker at 600. I can now run at 600 but 650+ wont make it through heaven without a driver crash (black screen with delay then resume the benchmark, easily see artifacts prior). I have standard ACX 3.0 wit +175 (max boost 2076) on core and 300 Memory. Not much of a difference for me.....though it almost seems that my max boost clock is a tad bit lower under heavy loading in the benchmarks. I may wipe the drivers, reload and rerun, but don't expect a change. I am still on 372.90 as it's stable.

Now 9000mhz memory is achievable. I am running Evga 1070 SC sli and it boosted pretty good. Before I couldn't go higher than 8400mhz. At 400mhz + on memory. Now I get 500mhz + stable. Even core was better.

Not sure if anyone else has this with there 1070 ftw but the fans don't shut off in 2d/idle mode (no oc and everything is at stock settings in precision ocx) with this new bios update (main bios). it's not a huge problem as the fans are only at 20%, and can't be lowered in precision ocx (i'm running 6.0.6). Again it's not a huge problem keeps the card even cooler, just though the techs might want to know.

If you are using windows 7: Set max performance in NVCP on global tab, add windows\explorer.exe, windows\system32\dwm.exe in NVCP on programs tab(max performance), you can turn kboost off and reboot. If you are using windows 10: do the 2 steps above, plus this one below and reboot. windows\systemapps\shellexperiencehost_cw5n1h2txyewy\shellexperiencehost.exe to NVCP on program tab(max performance). It's the same as KBoost, but you're using Windows to idle at base clock and .762mv.
