Is there any ETA on the ACX3.0 models?

No ETA just yet. We have not listed the Dual fan models on the website yet, just shown how they will look. The release time is still TBD.

It's interesting because the GTX 1060 is about 72% of the GTX 1070 but costs so much cheaper. Compare this to the GTX 960, which was 65% and relatively cost more expensive.

not 72%, a 1060 tested here did 1621 for a heaven 4.0 score. my own 1070 pushed 2634 clocked. even pushing a 1060 to 1800 clocked if it's possible means a 1070 is 46% more card and if 1800 isn't possible we're looking at a 62% gain over 1621

http://www.startlr.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/1468981212_600_NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-Review-not-the-timid.jpg

what the 1060 is, is about 100 points more than a mildly clocked 970. if it can hit 1800 we would be at +250 points on this benchmark

stock 970s did 1400-1430ish, moderately clocked was mid 15s

1060 is a great deal as it outperforms the 970 in every way and ties a 980 in many, it just isn't close to a 1070 by quite a lot. the 1070 is performing similar to the 980ti

Non SC: http://www.evga.com/produ...6G-P4-6161-KR_XL_7.jpg

You can see there is a clear difference in the heatsink being used. The SC has dense perpendicular fins, the non SC has got a simple circular radial design.

I'd like to know if this is actually the case or just some mock up cooler on the other card?

Is the cooler the same on both versions?

Has anyone read/seen a review where they compared the Non-SC version and the SC version? I ordered the regular version from Newegg yesterday thinking the only difference was just that the SC was clocked higher, but if the cooler is different and it will have a decent impact on heat/noise/performance I will return that one and wait it out.

Yes the cooler is different. There are dual heatpipes + more copper on SC. Temp difference is about 10C. You may see a few reviews comparing the difference soon.

I guess the SC version is worth the extra then.

Just wondering Jacob, I've not heard any confirmation yet, but is the heatsink/heatpipes/copper the exact same in the GTX 1060 SC and the GTX 960 SC?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone could provide some information as to how the fan speed works in the 1060 SC gaming, specifically, can it scale continuously (i.e. 40%, 41%, 42%, 43%, any% across the full range) or does it instead simply move between a limited number of discrete values (e.g. a setting of either 0%, 45%, 57%, or 100%).

I'm thinking in terms of using software that allow users to create fan curves that have fan speed scale with temperature (e.g. MSI Afterburner, etc). I've only seen a couple of reviews and it wasn't made clear in them how the fan speed works so thought I'd ask here.

Thanks.

Thanks for clarifying but I think that retailers should point this out.
I bought the SC-version yesterday while a friend of mine bought the non-SC version thinking that the only difference was the clock speeds out of the box since nothing pointed towards any other difference between the cards.

EVGA is obviously not responsible for how retailers describe graphics cards but I think it would really be beneficial to communicate to them that there is a significant difference outside of the clock speeds.

The default BIOS in these early production models probably doesn't allow for that (or it does, but only above a certain value), but the updated BIOS is out and with that you can scale the fan speed 100% continuously.

Thinking of getting one for my wifes pc. How good would it play fallout 4 at 1920x 1600? She is a big fan.
Almost forgot,Does the card come with a power adapter? Her pc has a GT 6200 which does not require extra power.

I saw that the GTX 1060 SSC/FTW versions will have the logos in White LEDs - is this true?
Just wanted to make sure because I really liked the 1070's white LEDs. Also will these two have back plates available?

Awesome. I like the sound of that update (and it has arrived fast too), this has helped convince me to buy the card. Seems to give very impressive performance with decently low temperatures for such a compact card. My mobo will appreciate not having (another) huge weighty brick hanging off it for a change ;)

Now I just need EVGA to crank up their manufacturing plant to max speed so that amazon UK can fulfill my order, they've got me on a waiting list for my order and I suspect that I'm not first in line (or even close).

Absolutely loving my GTX 1060 SC, overclocks so well I'm scared... speaking of scared... what max temps for card health should i try and stick to... I was playing "The Division" on all ultra settings at 1080p and pegged 60fps without a hitch(vsync on).  Excellent experience overall, I was running with the details below, probably 78 degrees F in the room.  I did notice the temps get up to like 72 degrees Celsius with close to 100% fan speed.

Appreciate any information and thanks for such a great card!

Isnt it loud at 100% fan speed? Or are you ok with the noise?

My old GPU died last week and I have been holding out for the GTX 1060 SC version. I really hope stock level increases soon, I am not sure I can hold out with my IGPU much longer.

Sort of... I mean, I have a well insulated case and at 100% if i have the TV on and I'm gaming, i honestly hardly notice it.  But if I was on a call and no other noises were going on, i'd lower it to 70%... at 70% it's inaudible over my case/cpu fans.  Actually very pleased with the quietness of the card.  Still looking for safe max temps though! ;)

Still no answer as to why there is no SLI capability on the 1060.   Im not interested in the card, but I know somebody who was.  Till they learned that there was no SLI ability.

Nvidia stated that they were reserving SLI for their enthusiast lineup that it was generally the enthusiast segment that SLIed. I however believe it was so that they could secure more sales of their top end offerings that have a larger profit margin. A SLI pair of 1060's for example could potentially compete with their flagship 1080 for possibly less $.

Got mine on Friday and its been great so far. Only been playing GTA V but got settings up on high and very high with v sync on and its pretty much stable 60fps, just the occasional drop every now and then.

The card is very cool and quiet, reaches up around 60C during gaming but I adjusted the fan curve so the fan comes on at 50c. The default seems to keep the fan off below 60C which means it keeps stopping and starting which although silent I didn't like the idea, would rather have it running at a low speed during gaming.

But very happy, small, powerful card, doesn't even make the fan spin up on my PSU and the card is really quiet, no coil whine, you can't even tell I added a GPU to my PC without looking.
