When will the SC be available? Will it be sold on Amazon?

Second question, can you confirm that the cooler is 100% same as in GTX 960 SC and GTX 1060 SC?

Given my PC runs the GTX 960 SC perfectly fine, this should be a simple like-for-like replacement right?

My 2 cents. Why no SLI capability.

Also, can EVGA confirm that the power limit for the SC card is still 120W? It's the exact same as the reference clocks model despite the boost clock being nearly 200MHz higher!

They want you to buy two 1080s and SLI them. No, seriously!

It's interesting because the GTX 1060 is about 72% of the GTX 1070 but costs so much cheaper. Compare this to the GTX 960, which was 65% and relatively cost more expensive.

The color scheme on the 1060 IMO is way better than the other 10X0 variants....wonder why it couldn't be the other way around?

    Hey, everyone.
I have EVGA GTX 970 SSC and was planning to purchase GTX 1070 but price was way above my budget so I could not afford that. Now, since GTX 1060 is out with more reasonable price and better performance, do you think purchasing GTX 1060 is worth to spend to enhance my gaming experience?(I have 1080p monitor right now but planning to switch to 1440p monitor soon).
    Thanks.

No. The 970 still holds up to the 1060. The extra slight increase is not worth it. You would need to move on up to a 1070 to notice a difference.

I guess personally i wouldn't spend the money for the relatively small performance gain over a 970 sSC - that's still a very good card, and 1060 won't be a game changer.

    Non SC: http://www.evga.com/produ...6G-P4-6161-KR_XL_7.jpg

You can see there is a clear difference in the heatsink being used. The SC has dense perpendicular fins, the non SC has got a simple circular radial design.

The benchmarks I'm seeing put the GTX 1060 within a couple of frames of the 980. Sometimes above sometimes below, but definitely always faster than the 970.

the $249 version is non SC. The $259 version ( after mail in rebate) is SC single fan.

    Hi guys!
At the SSC and the FTW variants of the 1060, why there is a USB type C connector?
Will be a "home-made" SLI option or what?
There aren't any posts about that on this forum nor on twitter!

Probably a proprietary firmware port, since a modified USB cable has been on the previous models.

Hi guys.  Is the GTX 1060 sc considered to be a "blow-out fan style" card?  It looks like most of the heat will be blown out the back?  I have a small form factor case and have been advised to stick with blow-out fan style cards so I just wanted to check to make sure.  Thanks!

Technically no, but 1060 puts out very little heat in general.

I've looked into the question of the "USB C Port"; it's simply an extrusion that looks like a USB port. I'm pretty sure it's simply a way to clip the shroud to the bracket. Most of our ACX cards have one; HERE is a good view from a 970 SSC.

@JacobF, with the decision to implement 0DB, will the delivery of cards to Amazon and Newegg be delayed? Or for those cards already in shipment to the online retailers, will there be a way to update to the latest BIOS down the line?

It's a very nice card!  I thought Jay 2 Cents made "sense" when he said that no SLI because Nvidia realized that two of these would beat the 1080.
