Hey,
@EVGATech_LeeM - so I flashed the 4898 and it worked on my 3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR (10G-P5-3897-KL) - if I want to flash it back to the air version (4897 ovu) it won't let me saying that the driver is up to date. Any ideas?

Can you post a screenshot or video of the error?  You'll need to get your post count to 10 before you can, however, or just spread out parts of the link (anti-spam measure).

Hey - ok hopefully this works:

https :// imgur . com /Ws1zLAg

When running "4897_Normal_ovu.exe" it just says the below after typing "y" to continue, screen goes black and nothing is installed/changed. I installed the 94.02.71.40.DA, and pretty stupidly the 94.02.71.40.DB version so I'd need to overwrite both to stock/OC:

NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility
Version 5.701.0

The display adapter firmware is up to date.

Press any key to exit...

Tried the basic restarting - rechecking that fastboot and CSM were off (which they were).

Tried again this morning in the hopes that "magic" would happen. Same issue. It doesn't flash the Normal or OC BIOS as I think it doesn't want to go "back" a version, despite using the "flashback" version.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hello EVGATech_LeeM,
Since the Fixed LHR ftw3 ultra to Hybrid worked.
You think you will have time to post a new "4898_Normal_450W_ovu.exe"
Thanks

Sorry, I'm pushing our team again on this issue.  Hope to hear back in a day or two.

Thank you EVGATech_LeeM, glad to know this is still on your radar.

For those of you with the 3080 FTW3-type LHR cards, give this BIOS a try:  https://www.evga.com/EVGA/GeneralDownloading.aspx?file=4898.zip

Instructions:
•      Download the 4898.zip file.
•      Extract the files to a location on disk.
•      Make sure no programs are running in the background, and double click 4898_Normal_ovu.exe
•      Press "Y" to begin the update.
•      DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE UPDATE PROCESS!
•      After update, restart PC.
•      For OC bios(4898_OC_ovu.exe), you must toggle bios switch to the position of OC and do the same process as above.

If successful, I'll add it to the main post.

Hi. Worked fine for me thanks!

Just got lucky and my 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming is coming soon. Hear that temps are crazy so will be planning on buying the Hybrid Kit . I am new to all this and am wondering, do I have to upgrade my Bios? What exactly does the Bios have to do with the cooling?

I'd have to guess the bios updater is being confused by which card you want to flash, and it would be a lot simpler if you only had one in at a time and flashed them one at a time.

Finally got around to disconnecting one card to try this and you were spot-on - the Precision X tool for updating the BIOS worked completely different when only one card was plugged in; It prompted with a console warning that the screen would go black for up to six seconds as it did before, but with only one card plugged in it only went black for half a second before proceeding to a second prompt confirming the update.  Did this once with each card separately powered/plugged in and it worked beautifully.  I've now got REBAR successfully enabled thanks to your advice!!!

Crap. I've been getting a lot of game crashes (Destiny 2) after changing my regular 3080 to hybrid. I cannot reflash back to non hybrid now either =(. Getting the same adapter is up to date error as before.

Update - I used DDU then reinstall nvidia driver and also uninstalled Precision X1 and it seems ok. Updating nvidia driver without DDU it still crashed. Precision x1 even when set to no overclock game kept crashing. It crashed even though Precision x1 wasn't started. I'm not sure if it was DDU or removing Precision x1 that fixed it.

I have a similar issue on my 3080 LHR FTW3 Ultra. Never pulled more than 390W with Pin 3 maxed at 70W even on the OC BIOS set to 118%. Still looking to convert back to stock from the Hybrid though firmware though, the tool keeps saying "The display adapter firmware is up to date" whenever I try to flash back. Hopefully it gets resolved.

I was going to look at the Ti variant hoping the power balancing issue would've been resolved there but looks like that idea is out the window.

For those looking for more power from pin 3, don’t forget that the PCI-E slot itself draws up to 75W of power. 150W (pin 1), 150W (pin 2), 75W (pin 3), and 75W (PCI-E slot) totals 450W. Also, keep in mind that you won’t always been drawing 450W as it really depends on what load the card is under. And, as a reminder, software readings of power draw aren’t always accurate. For higher accuracy, use a multimeter or a clamp meter.

How would I get the XoC ROM that NVFlash would need to flash it? Outside of this forum I've seen nothing that details anything specifically for the LHR version (10G-P5-3897-KL). The executable/tool on this post just says: "The display adapter firmware is up to date" then does nothing.

Figured it out! Thanks! Back on Normal and XOC BIOS.
Still not drawing more than 360W in TimeSpy and 380W in Furmark & Heaven even on the XOC BIOS with Power set to +118% and an OC of +110Mhz on the core and +1100Mhz on the Memory. Pin 2 is maxed at 150W while Pin#1 is pulling 120W and Pin#3 never pulls more than 80W if I round it up. Slot draws 40W.

Well turns out there is no fix for the power issue I'm having above ^^. Seems like it boils down to the analog voltage regulators that EVGA went with. No amount of software/firmware or mods will result in a performance uplift either. Quite disappointed to see that in an Ultra card as I could've gone for something less premium with largely the same performance. Not going to fork out for an Asus though, their price premium here is enough to buy an actual car. Not a new car, but still a real drivable car.

Thanks everyone!

the LHR should have the revised controller i believe? the NCP81610 instead of the uP9511R?

Is there any way I could confirm that - preferably without taking the card apart?
If not - do you have any ideas on how I could pull more power so we could theoretically confirm it? So far no matter what I've tried the "Normal" BIOS and XOC BIOS perform exactly the same even under low ambient temps (10C) to allow for better boosting. In TimeSpy it won't pull more than 360-370W. Highest I've seen is 390W if I round up.

only one you can try is the GALAX HOF 1000W bios but you have to keep an eye on power draw to not blow the fuses on your card
