thebski The 980 Ti FTW and 980 FTW are completely different cards. Yes there was an issue with 980 FTWs, but that doesn't mean there is going to be an issue with the 980 Ti FTWs anymore than it would for the Classified, Kingpin, or any other non reference card. If you don't trust EVGA with non reference cards, then that's fine I suppose. However, the 980 FTW issues don't have anything to do with this card at all.
FFS, I'm well aware the cards aren't the same. I'm merely stating I don't trust the FTW line of cards after the 980 issues I had. I don't care what anyone else does. I was merely voicing MY stance on purchasing another FTW card of any series.
And he was merely voicing HIS stance on purchading custom cards of any series.
Thanks for clearing that up.....

I still don't think you understand what I'm saying. If they had called it the 980 Ti SSC it would be fine, right? Anyways, back to the card, will there be any water block compatibility with this card? I'm assuming reference blocks won't fit?

Is it just me, or did they lower the clock speed of the Hydro and Hybrid from 1291 to 1228 after the FTW came out? I could have sworn those were the same as the classified when they were released.

The hybrid was always 1140. You *MAY* be right on the hydro copper one.

The hybrid and the hydro copper have always had the same speed, which has not changed. Classified was always the highest until the K|NGP|N came out.

First question, the SC+ is slightly lower "ranked" because of the lower VRM count (6+2 rather than 8+2) and the lower stock clock. The LED strip that is behind the EVGA GEFORCE 980 TI should light up a very pale blue/white color.

Yes, EVGA GTX980Ti Hybrid was always 1140MHz. Actually I thought that EVGA TITAN X Hybrid is same but he is 1150MHz. If someone want to stay on AIR it's better to choose FTW model but if someone plan for waterblock I'm not sure is it compatible.

Just wondering why EVGA advertises a 1291 boost on the gpu clock when mine boosts to 1380mhz? Is 1291mhz the lowest it will throttle too as it heats up? I have noticed mine throttling a few mhz above 60c but it never has gotten close to 1291.

The boost clock that is advertised is just what you are guaranteed to get. But the cards will always boost more than that, never actually heard of anyone's cards running at the advertised clocks. And each card is different, some will clock higher than others.

6 phase SC+ VRM and 8 phase FTW VRM. Honestly, the rest will be silicone lottery from there on out.

Hi, Does the 980 ti FTW card have a 4 pin mini PWM fan header on it? I'm working on a project to control my case fans based on GPU and CPU fan speeds. (Arduino gizmo). I've been assuming the FTW card has a mini PWM header. My card is installed in my case right now so I can't easily look and finding images of the FTW card specifically is a pita on the web. I end up seeing all kinds of 900 series cards when I do searches. The image below is not a FTW, but I'm hoping the FTW board has a mini 4pin header in the same place as the card below. Look towards the lower right corner and you can see a small black header with 4 pins. If somebody can confirm that, I'd appreciate it. What's the 2 pin header towards the top right corner? On my FTW card, I can see a similar header along the right edge. Ah, i bet that's power for the LED light on the cooling shroud. Also, if anyone knows where I can get a splitter cable similar to this one in all black, I'd appreciate that too. http://www.moddiy.com/products/Mini-4%252dPin-GPU-%28Female%29-to-Mini-4%252dPin-GPU-%28Male%29-%7B47%7D-4%252dPin-Fan-%28Male%29-Cable-Splitter.html Thnx!

I want to apologize if I am wrong, but I am nearly 100% sure it has a 4 pin PWM header. This is one of the features they rarely change when updating PCB's, so it should be the same.

That's what I'm thinking too. I've seen pics of the 980 ti classified and the sc+ (pictured above) with that header in similar place. I think I'm safe in assuming its there on the FTW. The two pin header had me confused until I realized it was for the LEDs (which didn't happen until i was composing the post). I thought maybe it was for voltage control of the fans (not).

If you can pull your card just for a sec, the header is visible without taking the shroud or heatsink off. You could verify it in under 2 minutes total. I am going to stick with the idea that it is 4 pin for sure.

Anybody know the difference between the primary and the secondary "performance" BIOS that comes from the factory on the FTW card? I see the second one has more aggressive fan speed curve, anything else different?
