darklyspectre I wonder if the new ACX cooler is better. my Ti classified is pretty much maxed out with air. 85 degrees @ 1345Mhz. I can go higher still but the temperatures get too hard and the card throttles. (firestrike extreme score is 6001) uuuuuuuuuuuck now I want watercooling. I guess the kingpin isn't worth it since the new ACX isn't going to be that much better with just a little bit bigger fans.
The added backplate, baseplate, and maybe high flow bracket should be able to take advantage of the larger fan cooling production. I highly doubt it, but if the heatsink is designed differently then temps would be lower as well.

bluvert89 Where did you order your waterblock? Direct from EK?
No, frozencpu.com, but it's not in stock. The website says that it ships in 1-18 days.
They removed hyperlinks; anyway, Frozen CPU show in stock for: Block: Part #: ex-blc-1556 Backplate: Part #: ex-blc-1571 So again are we talking about same parts? Thanks,
Just a heads up.. Make sure you get ek backplate rev 2 , the normal ek 780 backplate will not work with the Kingpin, but the blocks do...
I appreciate the info on rev2; also got an e-mail an hour ago that mine is shipped and will be here Tuesday.

I got a backplate, all non ref Ti's have the high flow bracket I think. I just don't know. I need some people here to give me some proper air cooling temperatures and clocks so I can see if getting the kingpin is worth it but then again it all depends on how much I can sell my classified if I decide to sell it.

Heheh. Lowest 780 classy I've seen was $450 and Ti classy $700, but those are quick sell prices. Edit: I wouldn't sell mine at that 780 classy price

vsg28 The fans look like they will be better at static pressure as well so you never know.
Precisely why I don't like the Classy Fans, they are AF style even though they cool well, they're for AirFlow not Static Pressure which you would use on a rad/heatsink because the SP are more effective in the tight spaces in the rad/heatsink than AF fan blades

Good news, but I wonder if the different style fans make a difference on the cooling of the acx radiator. Woohoo Ordered at 9 am PST, "Shipped" already. Stalk the brown truck now until Friday.

Yes, we are talking about the same blocks, but the ex-blc-1556 doesn't show "In Stock", it shows "Orderable, Stock expected in 1-18 days". Now, I ordered mine earlier today, and I received an email this evening saying that is already in the "packing" phase. Not sure if it is actually being packed, or if it was just an automatically generated email that goes out shortly after all orders. In regards to the backplate (ex-blc-1571), I don't think it will work with the K|ingp|n. Jacob just mentioned in another thread that the backplate for the regular Classy, and the K|ngp|n are different.

No, don't gamble with such chip. 1300MHz in gaming i same as 1400MHz in 3DMark... if your card is really stable in all games... Only if you love unique max exclusive card. This will be 3rd graphic card from EVGA for 6 months , it's not bad for someone who live in weird region where different rules are on scene, surrounded with monopolist where monthly payment is 200-300e.

Ah okay. As previously discussed. i wonder if the fans do a much better job on air than the normal classy ones? And if they do i hope they bring out kingpin fans for seperate sale or something along those lines for us people on air. Especially since a few of us have completely maxed out our cards just by hitting the temp limit.

I don't think the kingpin fan is really any different than the classified one, just a clear/white-ish one instead of black, it's things like even higher binning, power input and an even more beefed up PCB that make the difference, not the cooler in this case as compared to the classified. as well as the removal/increase of several limitations in regards to power that are on normal cards.

The fans seem to be different. If you compare them to a AF-120 and SP-120 Corsair fan. The AF-120 looks like the Classified and the SP-120 looks like the Kingpin.

The Fans on the KP are larger in size, have more blades and the blades are shaped different for Greater Static Pressure so it should cool better with more airflow through the heatsink fins.
