I have a GTX 780 Ti Classified. It's not listed on the eligible cards list. I bought it directly from EVGA. Is it eligible for the step-up program or not?
I haven't seen benchmarks comparing the Titan Black vs 780 Ti Kingpin vs 6GB GTX 780. The current step-up appears to be for the non-Ti version of the 780, with 6GB as the differing feature.

I look at it like this Maxwell is probably going to be late to the party this year. My guess is they are having issues getting the die shrink down to the point it will be profitable.

Looks like it's true.

Kingpin & Classy will also be getting 6GB.

If its true then how will this affect the Titan Black if the Titan Black is pretty much a 780 ti with 6gb?

That's expected I told NVIDIA didn't finish with GK110...
But bad thing is because even 3GB and 6GB in same time I couldn't afford K|NGP|N with 6GB memory.
Selling K|NGP|N Edition for 765e in Europe was so good for me because I had literally on edge with money.
I waited only one more complication to talk with friend to gave-up and order GTX780Ti Classified, but than again with backplate I would be with 35e in pocket at the end.

So I'm guessing there's no step-up available for K|NGP|N owners when it gets the 6GB?

Jacob Please confirm.

Good question, titan black will still have double precision (FP64) for compute going for it unlike the 780ti.

I doubt more than 5% of people will even think on Titan Black over 800$ if any GTX780Ti model over 3GB show up.
Even reference model of GTX780Ti. Ti will be faster, cheaper, same memory. Better shopping for gamers.
Maybe some very very rear specific situation and for lot of less money than now.

Perhaps too early but would love to see some indication of price for 6gb 780 Ti now that we have seen a price for the 6gb 780 ($550). Pure guess but I'm thinking maybe $800-$850??? Or small price drop of 3gb 780s ti in order to make way for their 6gb counterpart priced near the 3gb version's original price (wishful thinking).

The only reason why I even bought the Titan Black was because of the extra 3gb of memory since I'm using higher then 1080p resolution...Great....

Re: EVGA GTX 780 6GB Step-Up 2014/03/22 17:57:16 (permalink)
You know marketing and increasing hype is best for selling.
If they had advertise same product twice more earning... They present last days Titan Black with 6GB and slower than GTX780Ti and now they will launch GTX780Ti 6GB for same price with higher clock and faster... Probably only small number of Titan Black is planned. Customers need to follow they need not advertising if don't have to afford that. Example I'm glad because they didn't launch GK110 with 2880 CUDA for 1000e. For me that is enough because I need performance more than memory and higher memory clock more than quantity. I doubt I'm ready to risk 1950MHz with tight latency for 6GB and later to change card on faster before I even need 6GB memory. And I'm glad because GK110 will stay longer time actual and because NVIDIA looks like to optimize better DX11 games with next drivers. No matter on anything Project Denver will came and I will not need 4GB of Video Memory. Next monitor I plan in 2560x1440 resolution but not soon.
We beg them on knees before only 3-4 months, hundred and thousands of customers, hundreds of pages to give GK110 with 2880 CUDA and 6GB model they don't even think about that.... Maybe is better if thought to sell for 1000e.
Yes I remember people talk... Please NVIDIA, Please 6GB, we will have memory bottleneck, you will see, please AMD have 4GB... Nothing.
They sell story about expensive memory and price would be really crazy... I have GTX780Ti 99% because they decide to go with 3GB cheaper.

I only have a few days for my stepup to expire. I jumped the gun a little to quick I guess. I really wanted a 780ti >3gb. I ordered another 780ti sli though. Hopefully this is enough down the road.

Well, thank you rakuten and tiger direct for being out of stock on the 780 ti classy. I have been looking everyday for the past couple of weeks to buy one from either site. Either tax/shipping free or free points towards another sad had one been there. I guess I will be sticking it out for a 6gb instead.

Sorry to those of you who will not be able to get one.😢

I have a GTX 780 Ti Classified. It's not listed on the eligible cards list. I bought it directly from EVGA. Is it eligible for the step-up program or not?
I haven't seen benchmarks comparing the Titan Black vs 780 Ti Kingpin vs 6GB GTX 780. The current step-up appears to be for the non-Ti version of the 780, with 6GB as the differing feature.

I too have 2 780Ti Classified too. Do i have to wait for the that version to come out I have 60 days until my step-up ends too.

Step up is only to reference NVIDIA cards only unless EVGA grants an exception.

I do not think you'll see a GTX 780ti 6GB card as that might interfere with Titan Black sales but that is ONLY my personal opinion.

That will not happen, since that would make the Quadro K6000 irrelevant, and Nvidia would not do that.

This is good news for those that looking to grab a 780 (and at $550 price point) , but terrible for us that already own 780's and making our cards somewhat worthless (atleast from a resale stand point)  . Looks like us current 780 owners just got screwed .

Same complaints every time a new model of GPU (or any other updated product) is released. You'd figure after a couple of centuries of the same pattern, folks would figure out the nature of the beast.

I get excited to see new products released, even if they are just updates on existing products. Would be pretty boring if nothing new happened until Maxwell.

Asus Sabertooth Z77, Intel 3770k, EVGA GTX 780x2, Samsung 840 Pro 256gb, Western Digital Green 1tb, Asus Blu-ray drive, Sound Blaster ZXR, EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2, NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT, Asus pb278q

I couldn't say it better myself. I got my 2 Titans Black SC and I love it, couldn't be happier, i do minimum gaming but more compute work, not letting them go for long time. You can never, ever be up to date with the "best" when comes to technology, especially GPU's, by next week you can ether be still happy and keep it what you have , or keep on re-digging you pc just to install something "updated" until next round which is always just around the corner, I've been there to many times, you have to draw the line somewhere

And the funniest part of stereo's comment is when you look at his sig: Gigabyte 780...not even an eVGA

This is good news for those that looking to grab a 780 (and at $550 price point) , but terrible for us that already own 780's and making our cards somewhat worthless (atleast from a resale stand point)  . Looks like us current 780 owners just got screwed .

How mean your card is worthless if you have 3GB. What my GTX780Ti is worthless because I have 3GB too???
On 2560x1440 I can play and with 3GB but on 4K I can't even with 6GB with one card.
Believe me if you want one card GTX780 12GB will not help you because you need few cards for more GPU performance.
I don't think 3GB card is worthless.
