SkylerJ From what they have said, reference version isn't planned
Not true. At page 65 of the OC forums I asked Jacob about them, see for yourself. A few people also asked about reference cooler gtx 780's on evga's own forums a few days ago, he replied there as well. The only thing we don't know about reference 6gb gtx-780's is when they will be released. I just hope it'll be soon because I want a pair so badly :( (seems I don't have enough posts to add links to my posts so I'll be back when I have made enough :p to provide my evidence.)

Good to know, didn't realize they had a reference version in the works, you would think that they would release them about the same time. Sorry about that

No worries :) and yeah, it does seem kind of odd that they'd release the ACX versions and reference at different times. I mean my best guess is to help promote their product first, or maybe they just feel that the ACX's versions will sell more than reference. Honestly, i'm just speculating and have no clue. Regardless it is refreshing to know that those of us who want to stick with reference will eventually be able to get them at least

Any news about when will those cards be released for retail in Europe? I'm building a new PC and graphic card is the last thing I haven't bought yet. I was wondering what would be the faster way to get it. Buying an older EVGA card and using step-up program or waiting for the card to be released for retail? I'd appreciate any info. MrYuriy, sign ups for email notifications are closed. Step-up program is open. EVGA guy explained it in post #244 in this thread.

They're open, what you're looking at is the email notifications. You're supposed to go to your product page, click on "view details", and you'll be able to step up there. If you're from Europe, you will be prompted to first sign in the EU EVGA website before you can see how many days you have left. I hope they will announce a reference design 6GB GTX 780 soon.

Have anyone asked, will there be an EVGA waterblock for this card? I'm holding out on the step up from one of my 680's due to missing out on it when the 700's launched with my first 680 purchase. Not missing out twice.

From what i understand, and from other peoples responses about this question, the cards are the exact same (GTX780 3GB and GTX780 6GB), besides the additional VRAM.

1 of my 2 cards ended up being bad. EVGA is being quite accomodating about it and cross shipping me a replacement but still a bummer after waiting like 10 days to end up with a bad card. The bad card was causing the system to fully shut down immediately once it began using more than 3GB of video memory. At lower resolutions it was ok, but @ 1440p or 4k it'd crash the system every time (full PC shut-down). Seemed like a possible power issue so I spent time swapping out supplies, swapping card positions on the board, checking temps, etc. Eventually I tried 1 card at a time, and when playing at those higher resolutions, the 2nd card I received would always hard-shut down the PC. So now we wait again... lol.

Ohh, okay! That's slightly missleading, haha. I even re-read the whole thing 2-3 times. That big red box with "signups closed" should probably either get taken down or at least not emphasized as much. Unless I'm alone with my logic! Anyways, thank you everyone for your help - Especially you, Legeon.

Just bought my 780 less than a month ago and the step-up option under details (after uploading invoice from NewEgg and all that jazz) said that my card didn't qualify for step-up... seems like those of us that bought them so soon before the 6GB release should be the most qualified...
Anybody know what's up with that?

sounds to me like you did not register your card on EVGA within the 14 day period after you purchased the card. In order to qualify, you would need to purchase extended warranty before the 90 day period to get extended warranty ends.

Yup, just registered it today about 25 days after purchase. Dang. Still well within the 90 day window but I guess that's of no concern :) This kinda sucks, oh well. Wish I'd have looked in to that earlier.

If your product has a 3 year warranty purchased on or after 1/1/11 and registered after 14 days of the original purchase date you must also purchase an extended warranty in order to be qualified for the step-up program. http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

What is wonderful, is the extended warranty is transferred over to your new card. I had this same problem, but now have 5 years of warranty on my GTX780 ACX SC 6GB =D Legeon Can someone verify whether step-ups are actually eligible for a Watch_Dogs code?
Step-ups are not eligible for the promotion. =(

Sucks. People have recently paid money for their cards (which are eligible for the step-up), and are paying the step-up difference as well.

I agree, it is a drag. I got Assasins Creed: Black Flag with my card, some people who recently purchased before the end of April got Daylight. Personally, i would much rather have Watch Dogs than either of those games. But have to keep in mind, the promotion is run by Nvidia, not EVGA. When i asked EVGA customer service about getting WD with my step-up, they said the promotion does not apply to the step-up program.

I just asked that above. I've heard the following rumours from various sources about the 6gb TI - "Coming May or June" "Coming Summer" "Released alongside the 780 6gb" "Definitely not happening as Nvidia don't want competition to the Titan Black"
Who knows eh!
