sormaz curious, does the fact that these boxes have no mention of step-up imply that (at least immediately) they will not be eligible for the step up program and not carry a lifetime warranty? I'd like to clarify this post a little bit. I'm not interested in the step-up program really, but rather the fact that being part of the step up (from) program implies a part number ending in -AR, or a limited lifetime warranty

They did do a promotion on the TR GTX 285 Classified to allow step up to the next gen cards but usually TR cards would not be eligible to Step Up FROM.

I can't believe this thread is still going and it's about a virtual box to house a still non-existant product. This is such a joke.
Ryzen 3700X, Asus Crosshair VIII, 32 GB Corsair Vengence, EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra. Corsair 7000D.

so did i get this right: i've bought gtx 280 recently, and it got 10 year limited warranty and says eligible to step up program, so when 480 comes out, will I be able to upgrade 280 to 480?

If and only if they are in stock. It may end up like the 295, only available for a very brief time... Or more likely, not at all... Still, just pattern recognition, not the absolute un doubtable answer.

If you are within your 90day window fro purchase, yes. A 10yr warranty does not me you have a 10 year step up period.

Okay sure guys, it's an amazing box. It looks insane, looks like it has good airflow and heat distribution... But will it run Crysis?
