I bet you could have gone down another 6C or 8C changing them Thermal Pad.
Mine was reduced by almost 10C and I used MX-4 on the GPU Chip. Post

Must have been really bad application because mx 4 is garbage on GPUs ive tested few when i had to remove block on my hybrid, With multiple applications. MX4, NT-H1 and AS5 and always AS5 had better results even without curing time.

Im tempted to try out Kryonaut though.

I've been using MX4 on my SC+ 980Ti for over a year...dropped the temps over the stock paste by almost 10C.

    Little review here:

    https://www.eteknix.com/t...major-brands-review/3/

Tests done on CPU not GPU. Mounting is not same heatsink has tigher bond on CPU as it has protective cover over the silicon appose to GPU heat sink is not designed to sit tight on GPU as it would crack/chip corners.

Also if you order Kryonaut get the one like $20 1.5ml it comes with the better applicator.

Cheap $6 one comes with crappy one makes is very hard to make even application.

Kryonaut seems to work best when you spread evenly over chip

Everyone has a favorite flavor of TIM, nice to see what others have had good results from

Personally I'd Never use any TIM that is conductive on any of my GPUs.  Just a tiny bit in the wrong spot is really bad - when you let the magic smoke out

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.  I would advise on reading up on many TIM testing roundups by reputed names, that have gone on over the years.  MX-4 is a top performer and beats AS5 almost every time.  AS5 has been around for a very long time as other better TIMs joined the markets at a later time.

True. Its like the stupid thermal pads missing in the first Pascal cards. Don't save the last 5€ in 500-900€ cards. I pay that extra money happily.

I take back my comment about NT-H1. Prior NT-H1 with pea size and line methods got max 53c AS5 max 51c
I tried again and used the applicator that came with kryonaut and did even layer over GPU and made difference.

From what im testing its pretty much on par with kryonaut.

1080ti with hybrid kit OC 2050/5900

    kryonaut 48c
    NT-H1     48c

I have nzxt switch 810 and front panel restricts airflow if i take it off
    kryonaut 45c
    NT-H1     46c

I like NT-H1, been using it on my CPU and GPU's for sometime. I like that its good for both, doesn't need a break-in period, easy to apply and remove, cheap to purchase and pretty damn effective considering.
