I was just updating my signature when you posted this! LOL  I had not posted here in a while but I lurk every day.  This is still a favorite forum for me.  Anyways, I just finished my latest build that now appears in my signature. But here is the pic of the "old" set up on my Lian Li open air with the Koolance Chiller.  Not pretty but functional :)

    Sorry for the thread derail.

And people ask if two 1080tis are overkill, LOL.

Btw, that's awesome, even if at $1700 for the chiller it makes absolutely no sense. I don't care, it's still awesome.

    I just drop my Temps 10C just by replacing the EK Thermal Pads with;
ARCTIC Thermal Pad (145 x 145 x 0.5 mm) - Silicone Based Thermal Pad with 6.0W/mK Thermal Conductivity - Flexible and Adaptive
ARCTIC Thermal Pad (145 x 145 x 1.5 mm) - Silicone Based Thermal Pad with 6.0W/mK Thermal Conductivity - Flexible and Adaptive
ARCTIC Thermal Pad (145 x 145 x 1.0 mm) - Silicone Based Thermal Pad with 6.0W/mK Thermal Conductivity - Flexible and Adaptive
    Well worth it.

Awesome.  Do you actually need all three thicknesses or can you just get the 1.5mm and sandwich them down when you fasten the block/sink?

    Yes I did.
I Highly Recommended that you Do Not "Sandwich Them Down"

That big of a difference on thermal pads 'eh? Over the stock EK one's. Regarding EK, they recommend 1.0mm and 0.5 thermal pads for their 1080ti blocks/backplates for all pads per their instructions. if this is what you used, where did you use the 1.5mm one's at?

I think I'm curious enough to try this and see how it works, except I'm gonna go with Thermal Grizzly's pads as I've had great results with their paste...let me know about those sizes though, think I'll get some pads and try it out.

CPU & GPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X / Nvidia RTX 3080 FE (Both EK Water Blocks)

    SSD & RAM: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB & Western Digital Black SN850 1TB / G.Skill Trident Z Neo C14 3600MHz 4x8GB (32GB)
    Case & Fans: Lian Li O11 Dynamic / x9 EK-Vardar X3M

I used them up and beyond EK's instructions as they only had instructions for the Titan X (Pascal) Graphics Card.
Sorry I have deleted all my Photos from the other Thread and cannot post where I used them.

I Forgot the small 10x10mm 1.0mm Pad on the back side below the PCIe Power Connectors.
You will note that the Blue and Green areas are where Thermal Pad ARE installed with the Stock FE Blower Cooler Shield.

So I should be fine per EK's instructions with just 1.0mm and 0.5mm pads then?

I just finished installing the block.  It looks fantastic I'm glad I waited.  My 1080ti idles around 28C and hits 38C while benching.  The RGB lighting is very well done I wish I had one of the cases that allowed side mounting so I could see the front.
