Ahowes - I was able to produce these temps with 2 different cards. It's highly unlikely that both have an issue with poorly applied thermal paste.

I don't have the time, effort, patience or energy for a custom loop buildout. This is a hobby that I can't spend too much time on.

You're not alone. I installed the hybrid kit on mine and am seeing generally 66-67C temps on full load after gaming for a couple hours with a push/pull config. I'm not sure how people are getting such low temps; I'm guessing silicon lottery or something of the sort.

Although, I should mention that this is at 84% fan speed. I should attempt a 100% fan speed and see what I max out at.

JDauwalter - this is the AIO FTW3 Hybrid, and not the aftermarket Hydro Copper. I expected better temps, given that my case has nothing but cold air flowing through it.

I believe that plays a huge role on top of cooler ambient intake air and case design.  Some cases will have better flow than others.

People forget when pushing these GPUs, they use more power than previous gens and having a 120mm AIO only will reach its saturating limit me thinks, especially when you're OCing.

Ftw3 fail I guess.. evga needs to atleast offer there customers an upgrade to the 240 rad.

64-67.. might as well keep it on air!

GTXJack - I guess that's what I should expect temp wise, given the overclocks I have. At default levels, temps are in the 55c range.

I'm inclined to agree, AHowes. It's important to note that these temps are with OC's at +1000 Mem and +100 Core. Default temps are usually in the 53c-55c range.

38-39c at 2205/8450 and low to mid 20s c on the rest of the board.

That's with a ek d5 pump/res and EK XE 480 radiator single loop with the evga hydro copper.

That's cards need more cooling.

That honestly sound about the norm. It's your OC's that are pushing these temps obviously but you have till 88c-89c before thermal shutdown.

If you want cooler temps for slightly higher clocks (not a guarantee), go custom liquid cooling. lol  It's lots of research, patience x2 and $$$ but worth it cause you'll get the coolest temps possible and quiet operations.

Uh - it was heavy AF.  You should've seen my wife and I pulling this thing up our front steps with a furniture dolly, then taking it off of the dolly.  We then physically cut the cases' cardboard box to get it out.  No WAY were we going to try and slide that thing out.  Once it was on the floor, I was able to carry it to its final resting place.  I'm a big dude (6' 5" / 260lbs), so I'm able to carry it a good distance.

So did the larger case help overall temps? I installed a hybrid kit on my 2080 Ti Ultra XC and it's in a small corsair 450D. Idles at 30c and the highest iv'e seen is with ray tracing games like Exodus at extreme settings at 4k. What really helped me was setting a very aggressive custom fan curve that hits 100% at 55c. Helped a lot

Not really. Again. I'm running the AIO FTW3 Hybrid, and not a custom loop. +1000 mem / +100 core and with ME at Ultra 1440p I'm hitting 63c. Ambient room temps are 21c and in case temps are 23c. Seems to me that the 120mm rad (even with push/pull fan configs) is insufficient to appropriately keep this card cool.

Yes, I've read through your whole thread and can definitely relate to your frustration! I am like you and have little time to invest more into this hobby albeit I love it sooo much! My Temps do get into the mid 60's with ray tracing or very graphically intense games. I also have the Hybrid kit as stated before  and running a push/pull config. The 120 rad is just getting saturated and I think it is doing the job, just not well enough and the 2080 Ti's need a larger rad. Couple of things-Do u have 3d settings at default in control panel? I used to run maximum performance nut I find that running optimal really helps with temps as it downclocks the card and still maintains 60 FPS and that dropped my overall temps-Your case looks really nice btw-congrats!

Welp then all you can do is turn those fans around to bring in cooler air from outside the case threw the rad.. looks like it's set for exhaust now.

I'm running at Maximum Performance, as I'm interested in running at the highest FPS possible (120fps via g-sync on my Alienware ultra-wide).  I can absolutely deal with the temps as they are - I'm running The Division 2, Ultra everything at 1440p @ 120fps.  BF5 runs, with Ultra everything (including RTX) at 85fps.  I'm ok with where things are.  Not ecstatic, but pleased.  Can I crush benchmarks (compared to custom loops)?  Nope.  Am I ok with that?  Of course.

You never run the rear into intake.  You'll just circulate the warm PSU exhaust back into the case with dust since all cases don't put filters out in the back.  For the 1000D, I think the top is filtered which leaves the bottom/front/top as intake and massive unfiltered rear as exhaust aka positive pressure.

EDIT --- Forgot to add that attaching the rad to the front of the case (barely reaches for me) and adding another fan for push/pull made a HUGE difference. 5-10c or more difference from memory.

Just wanted to chime in and say with the help of the guys in this thread the Hybrid kit on the FTW3 clocks to ~2190-2175mhz whilst playing GTA5/CODWW2 for ~3-4 hours.

Voltage locked to 1.093v and clock set to 2205mhz in Afterburner when gaming. Reckon I could match AHowes if I had custom...

Temps maximum of ~55ish with the fan header connected to the mobo and locked to 80% speed (the fans run at 100% for some reason if I connect them to the GPU as intended). Noctua AF-12 2000RPM Industrials in push/pull.

If I run Superposition 8k though, it drops to ~2085-2100mhz and temps reach 60-65c if I load into the game mode and leave it running for a while.

Corsair 750D with 3 intake + 2 exhaust (all same fan as above).

Since your rig is a beast, I'm not sure why you're seeing such high temps :(

EDIT --- Forgot to add that attaching the rad to the front of the case (barely reaches for me) and adding another fan for push/pull made a HUGE difference. 5-10c or more difference from memory.

Good job! Yup.. sounds like a contender to my card! Yup cooler air in the rad as an intake equals cooler card temps ecerytime.

Your card would be real interesting with a copper block. But all that extra cost really wouldn't be worth it for that hair more.

Hey AHowes,

Probably wouldn't make much difference, but it would make it much more appealing to the eye. Those custom setups look so badass hahaha (someday... have to move from DDR3 first I think!)

Thanks again, before I could only boost to ~2100mhz on air with max voltage, before stabilizing at ~2050ish whilst gaming. So I was pretty skeptical that it would get any better lol.

Thanks yipskiddlydoo - I know my in case temps are great - I've got temp sensors at the front of the case (22c) and near the rad at the rear (24), so I've got good, cool air flowing through the case.  FWIW, my Corsair H150i (360mm) AIO CPU cooler keeps my i9-9900k (all cores OC'd to 5ghz) at a nice and chilly 55c while running benchmarks.  I really DO think my FTW3 AIO Hybrid temps are as high as they are because a 120mm RAD isn't sufficient for the 2080 TI FTW3.  If I haven't mentioned it, if I'm not OC'ing the card (stock Mem/Core), I'm running at 48c in Superposition / Heaven.  It's when I OC (+1000/+100) that I hit the mid 60'c, at which point I get thermally throttled (I'm usually stuck at 2,070mhz core, which isn't terrible).
