I understand that. Some GPU venders use lower quality chips on their lower boost cards and if this is the case with evga then I woulnt buy a lower boost module. If the cards are equal other than their ability to overclock boost because of better cooling then I would buy the lower clock option and water cool it. Just wondering if their is a physical difference in the cards other than the cooling

11G-P4-2281-KR is definitely a 300 chip... https://imgur.com/a/hoZGlr4

Wonder if I can easily get away with 850w supply or should I move to 1000 or 1200w for this new kingpin 2080ti design?  Especially if I am going to be cranking it up.  other items will OC 9900k water cooled, highest end OC motherboard and all other normal components.  I think it was mentioned it would or could pull as much as 500w just for this graphics card alone.  Any thoughts ?

The only reason I was able to get a an 2080Ti at was because the step-up program had a 4 month wait for me so I was able to piece together the extra loot to step-up my 1080Ti.

So I wish you all well whomever can get the KP version. It will not be in my future.  I will get a water block of sorts for mine and will be best I can do.

It IS nice too look at though!  A few other cards care coming with 3 power power connectors and a OLED screen on top... But to be honest $1500 +/- is just going to be out of reach.
Enjoy whoever gets one!

You should definitely move up and I'd recommend going for the 1200

Once you figure in fans, lights, pumps etc whatever else you may have that just feels like you're pushing it.
I've got the FTW3 and a 1000w and I've been considering going up to a 1200 platinum or titanium just for future proofing

Is it just me, or does the KP look like it only has a 120 rad, doesn't that seem tiny for something with 400+w power draw?  Or is the fan just a tornado with sound levels to match?

It is the same as the FTW3 Hybrid iCX2 and a Big Fat Copper Heat Sink.

EVGA has been teasing its flagship GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin graphics card for well over a month now, and we've finally had a chance to pick one up in the flesh. This card is every professional overclocker's liquid-cooled wet-dream, with a PCB designed with inputs from Vince "Kingpin" Lucido, and a hybrid AIO-CLC cooling solution. The PCB features a 19-phase VRM that pulls power from three 8-pin PCIe power connectors located at the tail end of the card. The CLC makes contact with the GPU, while a copper base-plate, mated with several copper heatsinks over the memory and VRM areas, offload some of their heat to the block. A 100 mm fan ventilates some of these heatsinks.

A 120 mm radiator is on the other end of the card's CLC. This time around, the cooler actually serves a significant function besides being something you rip apart to install your LN2 evaporator: the shroud is studded with an LCD display with a limited feature-set resembling that of the EVBot. Right next to this LCD are diagnostic LEDs, voltage measurement points, a BIOS selector switch, and headers for a full-featured EVBot-like device. The GPU and memory chips are hand-binned for this card, and most of its electrical components are sourced from top bins. These come together for an ungodly amount of overclocking headroom not just with exotic DIY cooling, but also out of the box. Source

I am waiting patiently for the kingpin to come out.  I think I watched a youtube review at CES of this card and they mentioned it might release with a 240 rad instead of the 120.  That was show conjecture and commentary though and was nothing I read anywhere.  I don't want to spread rumors.  I want this product and I have a complete build waiting on it with all the components already purchased except the graphics card.

I am very happy there are companies building quality products with these performance aspects.  This morning I was referencing this card 11G-P4-2489-KR not being on the website.  I feel ashamed I am watching everyday for news on Kingpin 2080 ti LOL..

Jacob mentioned on one of the past Friday streams (maybe a month ago?) that they were considering releasing the KP Hybrid with a 240mm rad as the final product.

Why aren't they doing the step-up program for it? Isn't this exactly what the step up program is for? I was really looking to trade in the graphics card I just bought.

High End Cards as stated a few time in this Thread and others are or have never been part of the Step-Up Program.
And no that is not what the Step-Up Program is for.
It is for stepping up from say a RTX 2070 Ti an RTX 2080 Ti Base Card. EVGA Step-Up explains this.
Current Cards offered under the Step-up Program

How does EVGA usually roll out the Kingpin cards anyway? Do they just randomly appear on the store listing for purchase, meaning they could just appear out of nowhere in the middle of the night and it's a first-come, first-serve basis? Or do the cards show up on the store early but with an Auto-Notify option? Or does EVGA make some sort of announcement like a week out from release, or, or, or....?

I'm patiently waiting for them to release, continually refreshing the store page multiple times per day... but if I can avoid doing that I would surely like to know. Dying to get my hands on one!

I think I have seen products show up on the website first in a preorder type status then finally release..  I am sure that is on a case by case basis. :)

Any price estimates yet?  I'm guessing $1849.99.  I'm pretty good at guessing prices ;)

They are rumored to come out this month but man is this ever a tough wait... it's also entirely possible they don't come until April/May, not sure I can hold out that long! Welp, back to spamming F5 I suppose...

Eek that would be rather steep without a Hydro Copper pre-installed. I would guess (and hope) it's in the $1649-$1749 range but I fear you may be correct with your estimate

Jacob mentioned on one of the past Friday streams (maybe a month ago?) that they were considering releasing the KP Hybrid with a 240mm rad as the final product.

Honestly if they did a 120/240/280 option and you buy what you want & pay extra for the bigger radiator size, I'd do that no problem.  A 2080 Ti Kingpin with a 240/280mm radiator would stay cool as a cucumber in a case with the airflow mine has.  I actually have a way of mounting the larger radiator too, it would just take some finagling.

A 120mm would be fine for stock usage, but who's going to run one of these stock... besides probably me Kappa

I think they're actually selling it with a Hybrid cooler on it with the intention of making more units than normal & getting them sales bucks, because there are a lot of enthusiasts that aren't hardcore OCers but would still jump at the chance to get one of these and play around with it.  The issue with Kingpin editions has always been lack of stock, if they pump out more than normal of these, that would be awesome.

I'm just biding my time enjoying my 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid until this card comes out.  I'll have the money set aside in a few days (again, I had it but I spent it on a new computer build LOL)

Sure hope not, that's borderline offensive; I will pass on a $2000 2080Ti... at that point might as well start looking at a Titan.

You cannot do to a Titan that you can to a KINGPIN.

I agree but this time around I've no intention of going as crazy as usual with the KPE, just want to throw it under water with maybe some light mods or just use the ol' EVBot. $2000+ would be ridiculous though, on principle I'd have a hard time with the justification.... even if I were planning on LN2 XOC.

The 1080Ti KPE was $999... a $2000+ 2080Ti KPE would be very tough to justify. I hope your estimates are way off!
