FljpFl0p Haven't been following this thread but does anyone know why the Hybrid kit for FTW is not yet available? I can understand the short supply of cards due to NVIDIA not having enough chips, but the kit is totally independent of chips isn't it?
Prob got something to do with supply for all the rma'd ftw cards. Unlucky me was able to get my order for 2 ftw hybrids when they released and I'm sending them back for refund cause I've been testing 1080 cards holding off a new build that's already been sitting for 2 months now ( :/ ) all on hold as I've been trying out many different sets of 1080s trying to find one that will run cool enough or water cooled.. wanted to exchange for the classifieds as I don't want to risk spending more months of rma cards left and right as I've read accounts of people still getting bad cards but they were out of classifieds. My local Mc has many classifieds in stock so I grabbed them. Rma the cards and was told I have to pay return shipping even though the cards are defective due to the fact that I want a return. They would cover the shipping if I wanted an exchange. I still can't get over that but at least happy they allowed me a pass on the 15% restocking fees.

Well at least you have options, EVGA doesn't sell in Singapore so I had to order through Amazon. I'm having the black screen problem and the only choice I have now is RMA since EVGA Asia doesn't have step-up or advanced RMA. Actually they don't even have the Hybrid in Asia. Basically I'm now stuck with this card since it's been over 30 days since I received the card from Amazon. Not sure I would buy another card from them again. EVGA's biggest plus point is their customer service but most of it is not available in Asia.

It's concerning that two 1080 hybrids aren't cooling enough for you. I've been reading about the difference between hybrid evga, msi, and gigabyte (which was briefly available on Amazon last night...but 1 per customer). I'm interested to know...why weren't you getting the cooling goals you wanted? Are you gaming or benchmarking? Do you think the cards were defective? I was reading the different hybrid systems cool core components vs whole cards, but I'm no expert on whch is better. Any of your experience/feedback would be helpful so I can better guide which would be best for me (planning to game at 4k 60 FPS) and want to keep cards cool simply for the lifespan of the card and avoid throttling/unsafe temps.

Cooling on the hybrids were fine! Just bad black screen 100% fan issue that's well known from the ftw cards and a lot of people have been rmaing them.

I just don't get the purpose of hybrid card... wasn't water cooling mean to eliminate dust collecting/noisy fans that are inferior in cooling??? What's all the hype? Why not just wait for HydroCopper? Which is superior in cooling, no dust, no noise....

lower temps and less noise. lower temps = more stable and higher boost clocks and OC's; while running cooler then fanned cards. noisy fans, yes, i always replace stock rad fans. get higher quality fans that move more air while making less noise. i recommend noctua nf-f12's i never heard anyone mention the dust collecting, that has to do with your case, air pressure and filters. hydro copper is still going to require a rad with a fan on it. same with this scenario, make sure you get quality fans! though, yes the hydro removes the cards fan. BUT, with the hybrid cards it is normal to keep the cards fan at much lower speeds then it would be if you wasnt hydro. for instance my 980ti fan is set to never go above 35%. you can hear it under 40%. on top of that the hydro is going to cost much more when you add a pump, tubes, ran and fan.

Should be the ML120, as the radiator is 120mm, right?

i just got around to installing my Hybrid and i'm pretty damn disappointed so far. it overclocks like crap. i was only able to get it to +95/+550 and it was really struggling to even maintain 2075MHz. anything over +95 on the core clock became unstable. my Asus Strix OC easily maintained 2101MHz right out of the box without touching a single thing besides maxing out the power % and temp thresholds. for some reason, i saw that the Heaven benchmark was only using about 84%-86% power. i'm kind of debating if i should box it up and send it back or selling it instead of my Strix OC 1080.

Just a silly question...how does the card perform at stock? Are you getting good frames in games? Heating/voltage issues in that setting? Or just when you're overclocking?

Seriously? The 1080 FTW Hybrid is factory clocked at 1721MHz Base Clock and 1860MHz Boost Clock, and you're disappointed that the card "only" clocks 354MHz beyond base clock and 215MHz beyond the boost clock??? You should realize that : (a) 2075MHz is a very respectable overclock, and (b) everyone knows that it's a silicon lottery, and just because you were extremely lucky to get an ASUS card that maintained 2101MHz, it does not mean every card put out by every other company should clock at least that high. I imagine most owners would be quite happy with 2075MHz overclock - I know I would. The real world difference between 2075MHz and 2101MHz would be indiscernible, and the only place this might make even a slight difference is with intensive benchmarking software, and even then it would be very minor. I am amazed you think the card warrants a return because it "only" clocks to 2075MHz. Go ahead, box it up and return it, but I would fully expect you to get a 15% restocking fee if that is your reason for returning it. smh...

Alternatively, he can box it up and sell it to me as long as it works at stock :) I agree that card probably functions just fine as advertised and for a few extra points on a software benchmark, it's silly to say the card is disappointing if it doesn't overclock like another card. I think I know the reason why the 10 series is constantly out of stock....everyone wants a binned card that overclock the same. This is not realistic.

Pascal overclock little less than Maxwell, at least GP104. I saw few models around 120MHz fabric overclock. Probably because it's harder to find good chips. For me most important factors are stability on fabric speed and nice temps with silence, if I don't need to remove side panel, if card look cool than I'm satisfied.

45C at full load is the purpose for me. Also, I replaced the stock radiator fan with two Cougar CFD120 in push/pull configuration. Stays really cool and fairly quiet too. This is on a Sea Hawk. I gave up waiting for the Unicorn Hybrid.

Just a quick technical question..after you replaced the radiator fan, what kind of screws did you use to mount the radiator fan to the case fan? (Im assuming that's what you mean by push pull) or did you use ties?

I used an extra set of long thin screws that came with my Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX case. (4) 6-32 x 31mm I mounted in this order: fan - radiator - fan - case bracket The picture below is before my push/pull setup. The radiator on the right is for my Sea Hawk. I disconnected the rad from the case bracket and slid another fan in between and used the the 4 screws i mentioned above to attach the fan from above.

That's excellent and very clear. Thank you very much :) I am planning to get a DG 87 case with 1080 hybrids...going to try and mount push pull setup to 2 rear (left) fans due to short length of hybrid tubing. I'll keep your setup in mind.

Was just about to put on a pre-order on the swedish site komplett.se for the Hybrid but saw now that they pushed the release from oct 2nd to oct 21st. What the actual F? Actually I think I'm probably just gonna get the Titan X now. The only thing holding me down on that card is the acoustics (noise).

I've been checking their site every now and then, but never saw that they had it listed so thanks for saying it. It's still a bit more expensive than buying it from the eu.evga.com store though (but still cheaper than the MSI seahawk), so I'm not sure where I'll buy mine from. I'm still hoping that webhallen will have it.

No worries man :) I know there is a petition thread for Titan X Hybrid kit but do anyone know if there is some form of kit for the Titan X besides that hideous Arctic one?

sputnik7913 I just don't get the purpose of hybrid card... wasn't water cooling mean to eliminate dust collecting/noisy fans that are inferior in cooling???
Do you recommend the ML140 pros?
like the other poster said, you would want ML120 pros, unless you are using a bracket to convert 140 to 120mm. i havent bought one myself, but they look much better then the regular ml120 (as far as style and specs). i would probably go for whatever i could find for less (or whatever fit my build color). noctuas are ugly, but mine are hidden for the most part. i also like that noctua comes with a low noise adapter (they will run slower), a splitter (good if you want to run push/pull or SLI and want to control both fans together), an extension cable (nice to run fan cable behind mobo), and rubber mounts. but the rubber mounts only work when mounting fan to case, not for rads.

You most certainly can use the rubber anti-vibration mounts on radiators. I should know, I have four 140mm Noctuas mounted in a push/pull on a Kraken X61. EDIT -- Unless you meant the rubber screws that come with them, then no. My bad if that's what you were referring to.

i meant the rubber "screws". the rubber anti vibration pads/covers dont effect any possible mounting scenarios.

I don't think you answered my question... What are advantages of Hybrid, over HydroCopper, which has a superior cooling and 0 noise?

Gave in and got myself a Titan X. Sorry EVGA. I usually have good patience but waiting 4 months was a bit too much even for me. Jacob said that the Hybrid is just around the corner, so I hope it comes next week for all of you with even more patience :)

Considering I just received an RMA 1080 Hybrid yesterday after waiting about 10 days for more stock to come in, I'd imagine new stock should be available any moment, although it'll probably get sold out in less than an hour lol. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Titan X anyway (you got the new pascal model I assume).
