I just received my Gigabyte Xtreme waterforce, and after quick OC (10 mins using linear OC tool in Gigabyte app) hit 2214 stable @ 50C. Beast of a card. I wish you guys all luck on the snagging of the elusive 1080 Hybrid. BTW I was hesistant about cards, because of the few reviews I could find stated the card had horrendous pump noise. Mine is silent. Maybe Gigabyte went back to the drawing board for second rollout of card?

Wow! What awesome overclock. And stays very cool too.  Congrats!

Water cooling is the way to go folks. Just hang in there the Hybrid will be worth the wait.

Finally install my MSI 1080 Sea Hawk X.......it runs very very cold.

1080 resolution:
On boot, 78F/25.5C, after fallout 4 at highest settings the hottest it got after 45 mins was 91F/32.7. Nothing over 91F, I was watching closely.  My old EVGA 980 was running 135F/57C

4K resolution, Fallout 4 highest settings, 58-60 FPS, temps 48-54C.  Solid frames per second

Have an update on 1080 FTW HYBRID, unfortunately it will not be available this week, that was the best estimate we had at the time but it has moved a bit. I am trying to get an accurate updated date and will post in here by end of week. Sorry for the unfortunate news but wanted to give the latest updates so you guys don't break your F5 buttons... :)

So what is the delay with them? Parts issue or something with the build of them or just supply issues?

Assume the same can be said for the 1070 hybrid as well?  It's shown up on the product page, and you linked it on twitter....

Yes same for 1070. Actually both cards will show up around the same time. We are making an improvement on the shroud.

oh? shroud improvement? I know I had a hard time with the screws in the PCIe expansion slots because of the extra high profile of the card, if there was a change that would make it a bit easier... well I can hope that's the change anyway heh
Can't think of much else about the shroud that wouldn't be cosmetic.

This is now X5 I could have bought a waterforce, a card I know will perform better than the hybrid--if it weren't for it's aesthetics/non removal of the fan...I don't think I care anymore, I doubt I'll let it slide for a 6th time by now when EVGA's option is completely uncertain.

But now we finally get a reason, so it's a design delay of the shroud because EVGA is new to doing something with a custom PCB over the standard? Talk about dropping the ball.

I dont understand the MSI gaming app :(  I dont know where to look to see the base speeds, let alone the OC mode.  Can this not be done in gaming app? or do I need the MSI afterburner?.  I thought it had a one touch OC mode, but dont see the new speeds.

You could use either the gaming app or MSI afterburner but don't use both of them together because they may conflict with one another.

In the gaming app there is a OC mode, gaming mode, and silent mode. My Sea Hawk defaulted to the OC mode as should yours. There is OSD button that lets you toggle on/off certain parameters and make those parameters visible on screen when you play. This is were you can see your clock speeds.

Afterburner is similar, you can choose the parameters you want visible on screen but Afterburner also allows you to overclock too.

Also GPU-Z is another program that can show you what and how your GPU is performing.

Hey guys & gals,
Got my Gigabyte Waterforce in yesterday later than I expected. Fedex didn't get to my area until around 6:00pm so I didn't get much time to play with it. Spent a little bit of time this morning on it and got to 2177MHz core clock and 10432MHz on memory, Stable at 55C. I could probably push it a smidge higher with a little bit of a voltage bump, but I'm more than happy with a solid 2100+ core that never throttles down. I'm probably going to back it down to 2153MHz core and 10400MHz on memory just for my sanity of not wanting to put my card in an early grave. Also, it sits pretty much less than 80% TDP so it definitely seems that the dual 8-pin PCIe isn't really needed on the 10 series (unless you really start pushing up the voltage, which I haven't yet). I just hit the 30min mark of the Furmark Stress Test and it's been rock solid so far. Time to push it through some TimeSpy...

Weeks? It will be months before we can easily get the Hybrid. By easily I mean just checking a website and clicking "buy" without sitting at a desk all day / F5 / email notifications of stock available and then running out before I can even click onto the website. I'd estimate by the holidays we will easily be able to get one...maybe.

I want to grab one but afraid that it may cover my 2nd PCI-E slot and I need to utilize that slot for SLI.

Using a FTW1080 atm, that measures 1.5". Waterforce is 1.61". Hard to get exact measurement, using a z170 classified k mobo, looks like I have at least 1.55" clearance.

Think I could get away with fitting a waterforce? than use a xtreme gaming in 2nd slot, plenty of room below 2nd slot so no worries with size there.

Running 2xFTW's now and top card runs a bit hot. Using custom fan profiles to help and have to have fans running a little even while surfing web and doing mundane stuff temps hover from anywhere in the high 30's to the low 50's. As I type this its sitting at 44 degrees. Bottom card stays cool. Not a lot of room between cards so would like a watercooled variant for top card.

So, these havent even come off the assembly line? Meaning parts don't exist yet, or if they do they are still in Asia? In that case next week isnt really a possibility either I'd imagine...

I not an expert but my guess would be no. Mainly because of the changes to the chipset and die changes.

People who bought Sea Hawk miss one great card because impatience.
You will see how Hybrid look inside case compare to Sea Hawk.
And EVGA offer Hybrid for fair price, at least for USA market, for EU we will see.
But 729$ is really competitive price. Cheaper than Classified and both have custom PCB and 8+8 pin and same clock.
But Classified look extreme well through Window Side panel.
LED Logo on black background with 4 small screws from both side on metal surface look better than ever.

And the Sea Hawk isn't a great card?

I installed my Sea Hawk last night. In the default OC mode the boost clock immediately jumped to 2012MHz stable and after about an hour the temperature settled at about 50C. No overclock yet and with only 1 8 pin power connector. No coil whine and the pump is silent.

I don't stare at my card when I'm playing a game. lol But the Sea Hawk blends in well once installed in my opinion.

I understand that you like EVGA, so do I, but the wait was starting to get ridiculous. Originally we were told the Hybrid was to be available at the end of June and here we are on the cusp of August still waiting. Good luck trying to get one once they are released. You can always buy one for $1500 on Ebay once the snipers get them.
Was looking for your post with OC Mode :)  During the Unigine Heaven benchmark test, my Sea Hawk X had exact same push of the button OC mode of 2012MHZ.  During both 1K and 2K testing, didnt see the temp go over 47C.  Fan speed stuck at 33% or 1100 RPM.  I dont hear anything.

Was a bite in the butt to install.  Not enough space for both fan and radiator to lay flush with back fan opening.  Did a push/pull setup so the radiator sits on the previous fan I had in the back.  Laying flush would not fit.  Next time, bigger case.

Cold and very quiet video card.  Turned out well for me.

Very nice.

What kind of clock speeds are you getting?

Thanks for info.  the MSI gaming app ICON/lettering to way to large on 5760 X 1080 screen.  I can see the entire app, when I go to my middle 4K monitor.  Alot of buttons missing and wont fit on triple monitor setup.

@vlada
Actually the seahawk fits better in my pc than the 1080 hybrid,I got a black and white theme going on,tho the color scheme on the 1080 hybrid would probably fit my x99-e ws/3.1 board which has a really awesome color scheme.
Second is that the 1080 hybrid has FTW pcb and is much longer+ the power connector and it wont fit in my xl r2 case. And I dont like gpu's to cover the sata ports, which the hybrid probably will and the seahawk wont.
the 1080 seahawk costed me 1030 dollars here in norway and its alot more expensive here where I live than in the states.
the seahawk only has 1x 8pin which is better, less cables. We already know that having 8pin+6+2 pin doesnt give any advantages snce they clock pretty much the same, other than getting a good OC is a silicon lottery.
Im not a huge fan of LED on any gpu,tho the seahawk has LED FAN and a few RGB lit on the sides.

Im not a msi fan,I actually dont like msi that much, ive had loads of problems with em in the past, older mobo's and gpu's. Im not going for gigabytes waterforce due to how ugly I think it is,I dont really like the orange color on any hw parts. I like hardware that doesnt stand out which is why I got the seahawk.
I have the evga 980ti hybrid right now I really love it,its so quiet and it doesnt cover my sata ports, but where I live the 980ti hybrid costed almost the same as 1080 seahawk so Im going for seahawk.
I have been patiently waiting for the 1080 hybrid since launch, but when I found that it has FTW PCB+the power connector its no longer a option for me. If evga only would have used the FE PCB or atleast a shorter pcb than ftw pcb I might have waited and bought it.
Its kinda weak from evga, evga was the ones that introduced the hybrid solution if Im correct, and when pascal comes out, they cant even deliver the hybrid pascal before the titan xP comes out and last of the aio gpu's. its really not forgivable.

and I kinda agree with the guy above me in this qoute.I think it will fit very nice in a b&w build.

I had ended up getting the kit cause I already had a founders edition card. Prior to installing hybrid kit my card had no overclock I had a custom fan profile and would get up to the 70s Celsius and be at 80% fan which is way too loud with just playing 1080p on Vsync and not even maxing out card. After installing kit I put +150mhz on core runs at about 2050mhz when gaming. Now I'm running games at 4k with Vsync off using 100% gpu even after hours of gaming I have never seen my card go over 52c and the fan usually runs at a 33%. So much happier.

I'm very happy with mine too. I've been fiddling with fan rpm speed(radiator fan) to see if I can find that sweet spot for temperature and sound. I've settled at 67%(1000 rpm) which gives me a nice balance. Keep in mind I'm using a Cougar CFD120 fan which is very quiet.
