This should be solution for all NVIDIA Founders Edition.
Many people bought cards and even think to back them because high temps.
EVGA Solution is nicest on market and proven with Maxwell generation, people were very satisfied last year.

I suppose Founders Edition is maybe useful only with 80+% fan speed.
With such card in hand you need to risk, even if manufacturer don't allow customers to change nothing.
99% will nothing happen if you pay attention. I advice to people to use some cloth over screws if it's possible, and exactly proper size of tools, than screws will not be damaged... different thermal paste will not be problem. MX-4 is one of best and available everywhere.

I always use Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Grease, it's even better than MX-4

That's never big difference, actual difference is so small that people could use any of good thermal paste.
It's important to apply on clean and dry surface in the middle and to put heatsink over that and that's it, all job done.

Exactly. It's always amusing when someone claims their particular thermal paste is amazing. It's all about application.

Hey guys, on the hybrid kit, does the side light up with LEDs? I've got one on the way to cool down this noisy FE 1080 of mine

I have a Hybrid cooler enroute. Should I even bother wiping off the paste that comes pre-applied to use a different paste?

I wouldn't worry about it. If it's pre-applied you are good to go.

i had a 295x2 and replaced the thermal paste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, it made a huge difference over the stock paste. its the best (non metallic) thermal paste you can get. Though, i also replaced the thermal pads with fujipoly on the caps and Grizzly Minus 8 pads on the memory.

As long as it's applied correctly (without any friction/flaws) you definitely don't need to. Just make sure your GPU is cleaned properly with isopropyl alcohol or thermal paste remover. I always use a thermal paste remover and then a surface purifier to make it look and feel completely untouched.

I don't know what the top one is but from what I've read and seen, there's very little difference between them. Just get a known brand like Arctic Cooling or Noctua would be my advice. I personally get this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/...p;keywords=arctic+mx+4

Just got mine on, during OverWatch and Doom, 45-48c, down from 82c....I was scared as (Deleted for Language) doing this, nv messed with a GPU before. Took my time and so far so good, going to buy the Advanced RMA though just in case.

Will say this, the top 2 screws that connect the board and the metal thing, one of the screws you can't just screw in, you have to put that one washer on....The directions leave something to be desired as well.

That Hybrid cooler is Gods gift to nerds. I love it. EVGA cannot get enough credit for these cards, IMHO.

The pre applied stuff works well. You'll maybe shave off 2-3C using aftermarket.

I agree 100%, WC is the way of the future. All cards should be under water at this point. Theses fans and these huge heat sinks suck for many reasons. Only had those two complaints and really those aren't much to complain about.
