Duelyst is a tactical CCG (collectible card game) developed by CounterPlay and published by Bandai Namco. Its unique artwork and a different approach to the CCG genre made the game enough praise to reach a Metacritic score of 82.

Unfortunately, the critical acclaim wasn’t enough to keep the game online, as it’s shutting down on the 27th of February, at 3:00 PM PST. As per a written post on Duelyst’s official website, the developers announced the game’s service closure, thanking the community for their support, and also reducing the prices of in-game items by 99%.

All in-game currency purchases are now blocked, and anyone that bought in-game currency between December 21st of 2019 and January 24th of 2020 will be refunded upon request.
The developers didn’t share any details on why the game would be shut down. According to PCGameN, the player base of the game has been reducing, with a peak drop below a three-digit figure. The reduced player base wasn’t given as a reason to the game’s closure, but it might have been one.

Although Duelyst is about to close, Counterplay will continue to work on other projects. The latest known project they have been working on is GodFall, which is scheduled for a release later this year, for PS5 and PC.

In my opinion there is a vary crowded market and sadly many companies have had to shut down several online games.

It's kind of why I avoid the games with in game purchases like this because you never know when they will end support or the player count will drop to a point to make money spent worthless. Hopefully those who did invest in the game got enough enjoyment for any in game items they purchased to be happy since really it's not wasted money if it causes you joy.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

    Excerpt from OP link:

So, that is going to help some customers ... I wonder how many claims will be made outside of this timeline - to customers CC companies
