If so is there a way of telling if you have one with them fitted or not?

And that isn't just to see if the newer BIOS is on the card by default, but also the thermal pads on the VRMs?

ie: I can't see thermal pads mentioned as being fitted as standard on that page, only the option to request a set and to fit them yourself -

Yeah they do, at least in the EU. Bought my card in mid December and it came with both (bios and pads).

    System: 7820X - MSI X299 Carbon AC - G.Skill 32Gb TridentZ 3200 - EVGA 1080 Ti - 500 Gb Samsung 970 EVO , 2Tb Crucial MX500, 2Tb, 3Tb, 4Tb Seagate - Seasonic 1000W Prime - Creative Sound Blaster Z - Windows 10 Pro 64 - Phanteks Enthoo Primo - Edifier S530D - Acer Predator XB271HU (1440p)

    Watercooling loop: Heatkiller CPU - EK 1080 Ti - Swiftech MCP 655 with EK X-Top v2 - XSPC reservoir - Alphacool 480 x2

Any card shipped from one of our facilities after Nov. 1 should already have the thermal mod and VBIOS applied. It's possible, however, there are still cards sitting on a store shelf that haven't been updated yet, so we usually recommend checking your serial number with the site aka_Steve_b mentioned.

How do you know it came with the pads? Is it easy to see for example without taking things apart?

Thanks... And those serial numbers denote ones without the bios update AND thermal pads update etc?

It will show if it has one, both or none of the thermal modifications (though any product shipped by EVGA would have all or nothing as far as the thermal mod is concerned)

I bought a 1070 FTW the first part of December. It had the pads and BIOS mod already when received. If you check the site Steve-o mentioned it should be good. I hope you enjoy your card! My card doesn't hardly get to mid 50 gaming, and is quieter than my 980. << That surprised me.

Only Amazon, or the seller that is on Amazon, can answer that. Had to be shipped from EVGA's warehouses on or after November 1, 2016.

Chances are good that they have new stock by now, but it isn't a guarantee.

If you don't want to call them and ask, if you order one just plug the serial number in here to find out - http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/

And if needed EVGA will do the mods for you for free if you don't want to do them yourself.

EVGA will do an advanced RMA as well if you need one.
