I wrote to EVGA, they sent me a new BIOS to fix the problem.
I have done the simple instructions, the update.exe gived me this error:

update.exeNVIDIA Firmware Update UtilityVersion 5.196 *** IMPORTANT ***Do not turn off the computer or attempt to reboot your computer while theNVIDIA firmware is being updated. If the computer is turned off, orpower is lost, you may be unable to restart your computer.Searching for display adapters to update...ERROR: Error attempting to unmap adapter (0x00000006)Please note this error and contact your display adapter manufacturer'stechnical support line. I have the problem with DP when I need to turn off the monitor while the computer is on and when I turn it back on it says no signal and I have to reboot the computer to get the monitor show the desktop again.  I made sure to purchase the cables that were on the VESA  approved site and still having issues. This is ridiculous.

This is a Windows 7 issue. I have the same thing happening. All you can do is not turn off the monitor while Windows is running. I've read this is fixed in Windows 8.

It's not a problem of Microsoft, it's a problem of nvidia that can be workarounded with drivers or bios.

Write a ticket to EVGA and ask the bios to them.
they will give you the instructions and the file to flash.

This issue just started happening with latest nvidia drivers and an Asus VG248QE on a 970FTW.

Nvidia never does let off, do they.

So, no need to complain over EVGA

Well, if there's a BIOS fix, it'd be nice if someone can link me the one for 970FTW.

I contacted support and was advised to RMA my card as they didn't have a bios update for the new SSC+ cards. I don't really want to RMA my card as otherwise it is running fine and who knows the RMA card could be worse. This lot of cards have made me lose confidence in Nvidia. So where does that put us with the Nvidia made a firmware that fixes the problem.

Thanks for the link, but will that bios work for my SSC+? Also curious as to why they would tell me something different yet give out a bios later. Maybe I just had a lazy tech answering my ticket.

I was just informed that it could possibly be that my monitor needs a Bios update due to a EDID handshake error. I am going to try and see if BenQ has one for the XL2420Z monitors. If they don't I guess I will have to switch out cables if I need to get into the service menu of the monitor. More of a inconvenience than anything else.

Hey everyone, my rig is running with two GTX970 FTW in SLI mode. I suffer with the "displayport no signal" issue once I got the cards. After search through the web many people suggest updating the vBIOS to latest will help, so I called the EVGA support and they provide me a latest vBIOS. Flashing it, smooth, however, the "no signal" issue still not fully solved. I could say, the system now less likely "no signal" during cold boot or warm boot, but still occasionally suffer "no signal".

Do anyone updated the latest vBIOS and still have occasional "no signal" issue like me?

Just a follow-up on my last post. I got ahold of BenQ and they in fact informed me that there was a new firmware available for my XL2420Z monitors and to send them in for the update. Now I am just waiting for the monitors to get there and get back and hopefully the "no signal" issue will be resolved.

I'm having this issue as well. Displayport to my BenQ 2420g. Restarts are the only way I can get it to work. Sometimes I have to disconnect my other monitor that is connected through DVI.

Using a 980 Hydrocopper.

I suggest getting in contact with BenQ support and seeing if there is a firmware update for your monitors. Their RMA process is not the best (had to ship the monitors off myself @ $45 each) but they do cover the return shipping.

This seems to be an old ongoing problem?

first noticed this displayport bug after switching from a AMD card to a asus 670 GTX, using a Samsung 27" S27A950D... anything from a coldboot, hibernation or just the powersave(turn screen off after 5mins) could trigger it, monitor re-fuses to leave standbymode, and the problem still persist when connecting it to my newer EVGA 980 SC.

Also just purchased the new Samsung 34" LED Curved S34E790C THIS is behaving the same way + when it happens, the built in USBhub turns on and off until i disconnect power from monitor and reconnects, wich also brings back the picture. this is where i decided to send it in for RMA.

ill try EVGA to se if they still have that Vbios laying around?, dont have much confidence in samsungs repair partner in my country :(

Brightmist
EVGA sent me the updated vBIOS for my 970 FTW today, I posted it on OCN: here it is

tried this bios but I cannot get out of vga mode so had to downgrade again, you sure its for the FTW? (I have the ACX2.0 model).

So the card was fine on my old monitor using dvi, now on display port if I turn the monitor off, it wont detect the display after I turn on again, I have to connect to the pc via remote desktop to wake up the display port.

Are these faulty cards or faulty bios? if its bios why dont evga put the fixed bios on their website instead of making people do tickets?

--edit--

evga sent me the bios which matches the checksum of your bios, so your bios was matched, but both dont work on my card, the driver cannot initialise. :(

So I am using hdmi 1.4 which works but ideally I want display port fixed.
