I've seen many of open air cases from wood, metal, pvc etc. and wanted us to have a discussion here on building our own.  I saw one in another thread that really caught my attention that I really liked the most.

So I'd like to see what the cost of materials with measurements that we need to get this put together.

It's not the same.  The one I linked is using 90 degree pieces and that one you posted is much different.  I'd rather have the ability to have this thread set to we can come up with the materials to do a DIY thread of building our own from local sources, ie home depot or lowes.

I don't have a camera (wish I did) But I went to Lowes and purchased the lumber. In the plumbing section I found some little rubber washers that I used to space the motherboard from the wood.
Total cost was 28.99 and This is what I built: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191059773574?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

I used the pictures as my diagram and his posted general measurements. I wound up going an inch taller and wider to add more space for the cards. So far it's working great for me but I only have 2 cards on it. Will be interesting to see what my temps will be like later on when I get more cards. There is enough room on my build for 6 cards spaced out 1.75 inches apart. So we'll see as time goes by.

Yeah saw that.  I still need to know what I'm going to do with the doge I have.  Convert it to LTC more than likely.

its what I did with mine, I had around 9900 dogecoin at the time I switched to CEX IO

I got 0.51 LTC out of it.

That was easy as hell.  Still waiting for the transaction to hit my wallet.

    Edit:

I'm a idot!   I don't have enough to cover the transaction fee...lol  Didn't have that much doge that converted to LTC to equal enough to cover it...

1,772.68845038 all I had for doge.

The transfer fee is 0.001 LTC.  So if you convert the 1,772.68845038 doge to LTC=0.00004576 = Screwed!

take the , out of the 1772 thats your problem, the sell field doesn't like it

then you will get 0.0811 LTC and after transfer fee will be 0.0801

Coined Up has a click-able link to add your coins for withdraw and it will auto only
apply the amount that can be withdraw - the transaction fee. Look to your right
when on the withdraw page click on your coins link it will auto add them for withdraw
an subtract the fee as well auto. You don't have to type anything if you want to make a full withdraw.
Manually putting it in is only for when you want to leave some coins for trading for others coins
or buying back when its low then reselling when the price goes back up..

I did that. The problem is that when it converted, the amount of LTC from doge is less than what the fee to withdraw.

I gotcha, there is also I limit on the low end for withdraw, and your just under it when the fee is removed.
I've ran into that on other exchanges as well.

Now lets get back to the topic.

I'd like to see what you/how you guys have your mining rigs set up.

I just started off so I'm using my HAF 932 till I can build dedicated miners.

One of my buddies is a serious miner, and he built his own cases. He shared the blueprint and design with me and I went out to buy the parts and built it myself. Very easy and very fun! All you need is a drill, rivet gun/rivets, a very sharp cutter, and some spare time! I will double check with him in a few days on the exact measurements etc so I can share with you guys as well!

That's my rig that I built. I'd also like to add that I removed the box fans and zip tied a few case fans onto the case for more direct airflow and less noise! It's currently running 5 x R9 270s, Gigabyte Windforce versions. Let me tell you, it's like a space heater. When it was 20-30s outside I didn't even need to turn the heat on. Now I gotta use my Window AC 24/7 which sucks Profits > power bills though, as long as that trend continues

Now I gotta use my Window AC 24/7 which sucks Profits > power bills though, as long as that trend continues

This is so true. I have 3 rigs in my mining room and the temperature outside isn't cold enough to keep the room cool, but my wall AC doesn't work yet because its still too cold outside. This is a dangerous time of year.

The PSUs are actually really secure and snug... that giant zip tie does the trick very well! I'm thinking in the future I won't even use HDDs just buy a tiny SSD like a 32 or 64GB since it's all you need.

Do you have a window in that room? I'd just open the window and let the temperatures DROP! It's never too cold for your mining rigs!

I have two windows and both of them are open. Unless its below about 40, the room still gets too hot.

One of our very own Spotswood does custom builds Mining Tech Bench Stations.
Here's a Two Tier Mining Tray that can hold up to 18 GPU's. A Web link to his other work.
