ProDigit Talk about an endless money pit. Unfortunately, the Africa weather project, as Noble as it is, needs constant resources like this. If I ever have a 50 to 100fold crunching capacity in the future, I won't mind lending some resources to this project. For now the demand of projects closer to home is more pressing.
It is NOT about Money.
But it is. Who is paying for the hardware, and the running cost you think?
Who Do You Think, I am Paying For My Own Hardware and My Own Running Cost. I can argue this with you all day and all night, It Is NOT About The Money For Me or For Our Team Crunching@EVGA. That is Not why we are here...... A Fellowship of All Walks of Life Looking to Improve Our Communities' Future One Byte at a Time.... But this Thread is not about arguing about the Cost or Who Pays for what we do on Our Team. If it was about Money I would not be here nor would I be running BOINC nor would I be Folding.

Then what are you doing here bcavnaugh, because no matter how you look at it, it all COSTS money! I'm not getting a penny out of it either, but no one can deny that we're putting money INTO these projects. The day energy and hardware comes very affordable, it'll not be about money anymore, but at this time, I'm at ~$3k on hardware a year, and $1500 on running cost. That's some serious money. Other people buy cars with that kind of money. So it's only normal, that I'm selective with what projects I support. I'm not about to throw money into the air; meaning investing money into a bottomless pit. Analyzing the weather that changes every day, makes your yesterday's calculations useless.
I'm not telling you what sources to dedicate your time and energy to; I'm just saying that I myself don't participate in it, for the above reasons. That's my opinion on the matter, and it's just as valuable as anyone else's (and within the lines of the 'open ended discussion' part of this thread). And anther thing, No one NEEDS to be part of a team. It seems you're very pushy on getting me on your team, and its frankly getting a bit annoying. I'm not joining your team, and I have plenty of reasons to be on this forum, since 25% of my hardware consists of EVGA parts. So I have every right to be on this forum as you. Even if I'm not in an EVGA team.

Well keep in mind people do not want to be told they are throwing their money away on a useless project. Mom said " Sometimes it is best if you have nothing nice to say, bite your tongue" Everyone here has projects that they like to crunch. Some here have 4 to 600$ or more a month electric bills don't want to hear that. Obviously they have the money and can afford to. It is a way of giving back and have some fun doing it. And if you have just 1 core or 1000, every computer cycle helps in the effort, be it a team challenge or just humanity in general. You do not have to join the team if you do not want to. You are welcome too, if not its ok.

Cool GTX AMD Radeon "Navi" OpenCL Bug Makes it Unfit for SETI@Home #: 3011213
Does this apply to the AMD Radeon VII Graphics Card as well? This is dated back to August (9 Aug 2019) and into September so it may no longer be an issue. But being a Driver issue it should be fixed like when NVIDIA had somewhat it's own OpenCL Driver Bug. 19.9.1 Drivers do not fix the situation, I am running Driver 19.11.3 on my AMD Radeon VII Graphics Card. But AMD is blaming that the issue is the App just like NVIDIA did back when, but then the Next NVIDIA Driver Correct the OpenCL issue. On a side Note that Thread might have been best to of been created under the Crunching@EVGA area of the Forum but thanks for Posting it RJ. I picked up an iPad 10.2 today to use next year so now I will have Verizon Network along with my AT&T Network for the most locations now. I ordered through the Apple Website because we get a really Great Military Discount 15% and you cannot get this at an Apple Store.
