https://www.overclock3d.net/news/software/creative_assembly_trademark_reveals_total_war_saga_troy/1 Creative Assembly's previous Total War Saga was Thrones of Britannia, which let players control key players in an era where Alfred the Great was uniting England to create a singular nation. Troy will likely offer players similar options, albeit in a Trojan War setting.
The Total War Saga series is designed to offer players a tighter scope and limited room for technological progression. The games would offer a razor focus on specific events and build on top of the company's existing technology, enabling them to create a unique Total War game within a smaller timeframe and budget.
While Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia had its issues, we hope that Total War Sagas: Troy will be able to push past them. At a minimum, we hope that Creative Assembly utilises a newer iteration of the Total War "Warscape" engine, as we feel that Thrones of Britannia was constrained by the 32-bit Total War: Attila engine which the game was based on. We want to see Total War Saga: Troy to use a proper 64-bit engine.
No other information is available at this time nor a release date. For period gaming I think this will be a fun game to play.
