Currently browsing the web for a waterblock for a EVGA GTX 980 (04G-P4-2986-KR)... Seem to can't any Waterblocks for it... To double check... Can I use a reference GTX 980 watercooler on a EVGA GTX 980 FTW 2.0 (04G-P4-2986-KR)?

    No.
There is a row of components on the card which sits too high. I think its VRM. The 6gb cards also have more memory chips, and the reference cards won't have contact surfaces for some of the memory chips. Some of the reference style cards won't clear the 2x 8-pin PCI-E connectors as well.
You can use a EK Thermosphere...but you will need to modify the EVGA plate to get it to clear. There is a thread on this site which details this.

You can also use a EK VGA Supremacy. No mods necessary.

The two plates on the FTW do a good job of pulling heat, but they do need airflow over them.

Hmm thanks for the reply. I'm currently looking around and I'm not a 100% sure if the Acx 2.0 is still a reference pcb... I'm talking about the gtx 980 btw it only has 4gb :D. I'm kinda disappointed I can't find any full waterblocks.. I been looking foward to custom waterlooping.

So the card you have is a FTW 980 (not a Ti) w 4gb (not 6bg) memory?

I tried Googling your p/n but got very mixed results. Does your card have a row of VRM modules that sits much higher than the other components on the PCB?

    6-pin and a 8-pin...or two 8-pins?

IIRC, the ACX 2.0 thing just refers to the two-fan cooler.

Gtx 980 (not ti) FTW Acx 2.0. I have a 6+8pin connecter. I believe I found a photo of the PCB AND THE EK Thermalsphere you were talking about. I may go this method, but im hoping that plate he has is already on the card... Guess no memory overclocks... :(

How are you cooling the vRam and the other components on the PCB?

I would Not Recommend this Water Block on any GTX Graphics Card.

This is what I'm skeptical about. No cooling for VRAMS. I know u can get some air flow but rn. My Cpu Rad is up front and in now planning to cool my gpus with water since they run 75-82 in games.

Do you think i can install heatsinks of the vrams? Will it stay cool that way?

My case is a Corsair 400c with a 280mm rad up front cooling the CPU
