GN speculated that with the manufacturers investing so much in infrastructure, they may not be putting as many chips on the market and the current supply glut may correct and pricing go back up... So.  Buy now for summer build or wait?  Compatibility is what worries me. I plan on using AMDs new AM4 mobo that is coming out with Zen 3.  Thought about going ahead and picking up a 1 or 2TB NVMe early too.
 
Get all your crystal balls warmed up and let me know what they say.

    I would never buy memory for a MB that has not launched - compatibility issues happen

    I agree.  I did that for the z390 dark and return fell out of my 30 day window while I was waiting for a release.  Lesson learned.   fortunately, I was ok and love the memory.   Shipping speeds are fast now with a prime account, so next time, I'll buy once I have a MB secured.

    That's kinda how I was thinking also.  Risky business. NVMes shouldn't be a problem though, should they?  There's a sale on a WD Black 1TB at the moment I thought about jumping on.

    I got got the WD black 1 TB black white.  I like it.  It's fast.  the 970 pro just got updated to a pro plus version, so on the samsung front, I think you are ok.

    Only thing likely to happen is the prices go down even more by the time you have the MB
