So. I'm looking for something comparable to what I have (has at least all the connections mine has (especially fan)) But has a front 3.1 port and more back USB. Also RGB... I don't know why...but...yeah. Oh z390

I have the MSI Gaming Plus currently. But everything so OOS it's ridiculous. If i have ot wait a bit it's fine, but...

Also, what is up with all the OOS. I know why, really I do. but man. This sucks lol

I'm not really sure what you need based on your comments. Maybe you can tell us what you're using and what you're lacking. I assume that is based on your Z390.

So front USB and back USB 3.0 is important as is RGB. I guess the real question is what really do you not like in a motherboard and what features are you most interested in getting. It might be best to have a list of what is most important to you and what you would like to have but could live without if you can't find.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

Hell i don't even know anymore. I need to not late night post. I just do not like this MSI board collectively. The powerphases that have no heatsink get hot as heck and USB 2.0 headers don't know if they want to work or not. Is there a board that has 2 x16 slots that run at x16 (wether alone or while both are occupied)? I wanted to move my GPU to the lower slot but it only runs at x4 speed, I did that because I wanted to leave my AIO front mounted and the GPU is far too long to allow that without moving it. I have since top mounted the AIO again though.

So yeah, in summary I don't know what I want.. I just want better...

Going to Need more than 16 PCIe lanes for that .... X299 with an expensive CPU that has all the lanes

You could consider a larger Case to give the room you need to move your GPU to slot 1

My AIO folder stuffed with 1080Ti FTW3 hybrids .... look at all the room, I had to make spacers for mounting those radiators

    Case  Thermaltake View 71 RGB

To address the need for Fan connections ... just take that load off of the MB, use sata powered hub

Just built a new system with a MSI 570X A Pro extremely happy with it,

I have to admit I went the way of AMD and have a Ryzen 9 3950X. I am a happy camper.

Well I don't want to up the CPU, I've got a 9700k and wanna stick with that for a while, and bigger case? Corsairs 680x is big enough for me, I just have to deal with the inconvenience of only one x16 slot running at x16. It would be fine to have multiple x16 slots and only one at a time runs at x16... Not sure why that's not a thing. Either way it don't have to be some super motherboard, just needs to be slightly better than mine.

You're limited by the number of lanes supported by the CPU, not the motherboard. Intel moved PCIe lane management on-die when they realized they could break up and make more money with their x299 series that will fully support multiple cards in SLI.

Yeah, it's crap. If you look, the low end x299 CPUs have something like 28 lanes and the mid-upper priced ones have 40. Purely a cash grab tactic.

Hmm... Well, still would like a better overall board than this MSI one. I'm not against MSI, just should have done more research on it before I bought it. Then again the way everything is OOS and over priced right now I should be glad I have a motherboard at all in these here trying times lol.

SLI isnt going to be around much longer and support much less.  Did find:

    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z390-A-PRO

    https://www.amazon.com/MSI-PRO-LGA1151-Gigabit-Motherboard/dp/B07J6Z9KJ2

Far as buying motherboards from Amazon, stick to Amazon.com as a seller.  My 2cents is to save cash and move to AMD, unless your folding, Id think about gaming in SLI is still worth it anymore and move on. I just built a budget build with AMD and Im super happy...

If you REALLY need multiple x16 or x8 slots Supermicro sells a Z390 board with 2 x16, 1 x16 & 2 x8 or 4 x8 slots with a PLX chip.  Unless you NEED those slots I wouldn't bother though to be honest.

No, after learning what I have of x16 slots running at x16 speeds that's no longer an issue. I'll just keep the AIO rad top mounted... bleh.
