I can safely predict this board will crunch a few wallets, $800+ is a lot of procrastination!

I won't touch it if its above £520. That's how much the Asus Maximus Z690 Hero is (which has the same features as the EVGA Classy). The Z690 Hero also gets £100 cashback if you register your Alder Lake CPU and Z690 motherboard invoices on Asus' website. So that's £420 after the rebate. Gotta stay competitive EVGA.

Bestbuy cancelled my z690 board order on me which made me hum on some decisions. Was thinking of even getting a 5950X. I looked at the x570 price in USD and almost had an accident in my pants. Great looking board but priced right out of the market imo.

Prices of all motherboards have shot up substantially. You can still find some X570 motherboards for good prices.

    Heres some prices in Canada:
    Asus Z690 Maximus Extreme - $1350
    Asus Z690 Maximus Formula - $950
    Asus Z690 Maximus Hero - $749
    Asus Z690 Maximus Apex - $850

Normally I would jump on the Extreme Board as I have had few now and they perform flawlessly, however this time going for an Apex !!

Fair to say Mobo prices have increased 35% since I built my current system and would think the KP Board will be $1200+ w the Classy $850'ish.....but I havent owned an Evga Mobo in a very long time....since my X58 Classified paired with a 980X ;)

I don't think I have paid more than $300 for a motherboard, and don't think that will change any time soon. Those prices are insane.

I paid less than $100 for my Z68 FTW on a black friday special open box with Newegg, and it still does fine with most games.  I've waited a long time to make the leap to DDR5, but I know it's going to be painfull getting a new motherboard.

I think most of the boards I have been getting have been about $500 but I guess I don't mind that much because I upgrade as needed. It will probably hurt more though when I have to upgrade to DDR5 a motherboard and a CPU at the same time.

So in reality they only increased 10% if you take into account the 25% tariff. That rises prices across the board.
Yeah prices have gone up but so have some if the features.

Some crazy consumers ruin it for everyone.  Amiright guys?

I would say opportunists ruin it for everyone. Today is the first day I’ve seen a 3rd party selling DDR5 RAM on Newegg, and they marked up the price by $1K for a 32 GB kit. If scalpers are now going after RAM like they have been for GPUs, I may be rethinking my hobby as a PC enthusiast because I refuse to buy from scalpers. If they’re the only ones with availability, then I guess I’m going to bow out of the game.

I've seen scalpers go after kids toys. When my daughter was 4 or 5 she wanted these tiny unicorns. They sold them for 3 bucks, but everywhere was sold out. Found them on eBay for 25 bucks each from a seller. Had sold over 500 already.

So RAM was no big surprise, and if there is a PSU shortage they will scalp that, and so on and so on.

Willing to pay a lot is why we pay a lot. Scalpers exist because people pay the price.

everything is more expensive recently so who cares. I would rather pay more so that EVGA consolidate their rows and then we get better products from them.
I think $1,000+ is reasonable. Also I think they should charge more for first 10 or first 100 deliveries.

If board comes out at the end of the chipset lifecycle like the Z590, that price tag won't fly

Play....whats your point ;) ....and wayyyyy more options in the BIOS to bork!!!

On another note perhaps a bundle Mobo + DDR5 or DDR5 for those whom have already pre-purchased Mobo's......I'll have my 12900K pretty quick and have my Pre-Order in for an Apex board (18 Dec), but if I see crazy rediculous DDR5 prices showing up on ebay only and not available (like GPU's) I may just cancel the Mobo order, sit on the 12900k and wait n see if DDR5 becomes available.
That would be a real pvss off if scalpers set up bots to purchase it off of the various go to sites!

Yeah prices have gone up but so have some if the features.

....I said "since my last build", meaning 2018...my Maximus XI Extreme Board I paid around $850 for then, new Extreme Board over clser to $1550, sorry thats getting closer to 75% up in 3 yrs....also, Im in Canada those are CDN prices.....

I paid $600 for z390 Formula before taxes. Add $150 for the 25% tariff and that’s $750. So a $200 increase during a worldwide shortage that has increased costs all around isn’t that big of a jump to me.

Extreme is only $1504 with taxes

So yeah certain models may have gone up more but as I said they also have the newest features like Gen 5 NVME which jack up the price.

^^ For a motherboard? That's crazy talk!  I sure hope that's not a retail price, versus a scummy scalper price. Otherwise manufacturers have lost their minds.

Well, even though it will most likely be expensive AF, the rest of the Z690 crop, I'm shooting for the EVGA Z690 Classified.  Kinda depends on when it's actually going to release.  All I am waiting on atm is a motherboard for the Alder Lake build.  Figured I'd be patient and wait for a EVGA board this time around.  :)

Happy to say my Asus Maximus Apex Board shipped today....unfortunately my 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra went out with a "pop" this AM, so an RMA in process.
Once I get a working GPU Card back from Evga, should have everything except for some DDR5 !!!

My guess is 400-500 for the FTW3, 600-700 for the black/kingpin. then there is the question will EVGA release a z690 DDR4 version or will they just do the DDR5.

Evga has already said there are no plans for a ddr4 board.
