bg8780 After updating to 2.06 a few days ago I've had issues with hardlocks and the GPU fans go to 100%. Maybe once every 2 days or so. Anyone else?
Is this also happening on Bios 2.08. I only have used 2.05 and 2.08 to date and with 2.08 I have not seem any issues.
I haven't updated yet. Seems to be a number of issues with 2.08 so I may hold off for the next release. EDIT: I updated last week. So far no issues. Fixed my hardlock problems from 2.06

Ring Bus still dropping to 4.5Ghz (set to 5.0Ghz in BIOS) despite C-States being disabled completely. Don't know why.

2.08 is working great. The Z690 Dark is bulletproof. I know the only reason my PC still works is because EVGA designed and coded this board like a tank. :) Thank you, EVGA I can not say the same about my previous build when 2 MSI Z690 boards burnt up within 1 month; each one taking a 12th gen with it running 3200 C14 ram 2.08 rocks!

rulik006 Classified is equal to budget boards. But not to the price range competitors like Z690-F Strix and Z690 Master, they both able to run higher memory clocks stable
So you bought 4 dimm board, uncommon cheap dimms, only one 12gen cpu and expect to overlock and work well ? sorry but ADL/RPL is pay to win The better suited hardware you purchased for the task, the better your set it up. I never saw the reason to classified to exist, looks like a cut-down of dark, instead of focusing on dark (which goes for very good price later on) dark has many small issues but everyone is happy I bet you will have worse experience with both strix and master too. All z690 4 dimmers are terrible in overclock regard, I understand your could really like the brand evga and like to use their products, but classified is not really popular, if you want the less amount of issues you also should get something really popular dont u think(could be an asus ye)
The best and most permanent cure to choosing ASUS over something else is a horrendous warranty/RMA experience. It is slow, painful and abusive. Expect for them to look for ways to make their product failures your fault, and a 4 to 8 week process to run its course. Their high end motherboards are good at overclocking, but highly prone to failure and manufacturing defects. And, take good high resolution photos of the CPU socket. They have a mysterious ability to get bent during shipping even with the socket cover in place. I have several good friends in the overclocking community that were sent photos of bent pins along with a warranty denial that did not match the photos taken prior to shipping. Every Rampage, Maximus Hero and Apex motherboard I have owned has experienced a failure of some sort that required an RMA. My Z490 Apex actually caught on fire due a short in some defective SMDs. In every case the process took more than a month and involved bickering with their incompetent and abusive support staff. I was told at the point of first contact that the fire "was not covered by warranty" and had to escalate it before they would even provide an RMA number to me. They didn't ask if anyone was hurt or if there was other property damage caused by the fire, just an irrational denial without any knowledge of the cause. That took about 8 weeks to resolve because they had to do a forensic examination to determine the cause of the fire and confirm the board could not be repaired and returned to me. (I am not joking... this is how idiotic they are.) Oddly enough, their less expensive gamer and budget motherboards are much more reliable than their high end products that are priced like the Dark motherboards.
Pretty accurate tbh :/

I learned EVGA makes motherboards after to MSI Z690s failed within a month burning up two ADL CPUs while trying to run 3200 C14 DDR4. I will only buy EVGA motherboards now. They know how to code BIOS and wait to release products until they are actually ready. Also, I wonder how many people with issues are using quality PSU to provide the precision power required to OC

Any chance there will be 4090FE support added soon? The test bios seems to be the only one that works and supports both 13th generation processors and 4000 series FE cards and it seems to be based on bios version 2.03; which is missing 13900ks support. Hopefully this is something that gets resolved sooner rather than later.

Hey guys. I have a question. Why does my CPU temperature get 10 degrees hotter when I select a new CPU microcode (10E)? My processor is 13900KF, Dark motherboard (2.08).

Because Intel changed the VID value in the new Microcode to be higher. This is why we offer the older Microcode in case people want to go back to the older and lower VID value. Keep in mind that some BIOS features require the new Microcode, however.

Playing devil's advocate here, but if Intel feels that raising the VID of a number of processors is necessary after launch, there might be a solid reason for it.

I think it's going to be one of those things that people have to test on their own if they plan to overclock or minimize voltages. The microcode is the reason for the voltage increase, yes, but you can also try to use offsets and Load Line % to see if you can drop the voltage. Also, while there are no security updates at this point, eventually you may need to update to a microcode patch in future BIOS updates to fix a security exploit that uses the higher VID.

So I was able to get my 4090 working by using another GPU and installing the firmware fix on my 4090. It boots up windows, but it still does not boot up the bios. I’ve installed the tool they have but still not able to get the bios to boot on startup, it’s just a black screen. Was wondering if anyone has the problem on the new update? Or is it a problem with my bios? I was on 2.08 and was able to access it before installing windows, but after windows installation it seems I can’t access it. Tried resetting CMOS but nothing

1. Make a new Thread. (Something like, "RTX4090 vBIOS Updated, But Still No BIOS Screen When Booting, Windows Works") 2. Paste in 1st Post on new thread ur last post here (^^). ( https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3596023) 3. Use *link* for creating an EVGA Forum signature. Feel free to copy/edit my signature. With ur Sig displaying all ur Hardware, combined and with a dedicated Thread for ur prob; helping u will be easier and ppl with the same problem ur have will notice it and hopefully chime in sooner. Note: u need to get 20 posts to be able to create links and posts Pics. GL

This brings us back to a very good point. Lee, I'd like to reiterate a suggestion many of us have had, which is to disable fast boot by default. It is currently defaulted to enabled and has been since at least z590.

Soooo, yeah, i bit the bullet too, i just updated BIOS from 1.14 to 2.08 and just like some of you, i ended up having my PC in a continuous LOOP with out the ability to go in to BIOS or to fully start after updating it, it would make the usual beeps once it reached the motherboard logo and the 92 code it would make the high pitch noise as if i would selected F2 to enter BIOS except it kept restarting continuously in a LOOP up to that point for a few minutes actually i let it do that to see how far it goes, so i decided to shut it off entirely, that didn't work, then i hit the CMOS button, it took a good while for it to restart, then ever since... now it just hangs on 92 error code with OUT the ability to go in to BIOS what so ever, no matter how many times i press during boot F2, i cant access the BIOS to downgrade to lets say 2.06, it just stops after mobo logo and that high pitch beep noise and 92 code, any other advice please or I'm screwed for good? EDIT UPDATE: It seems the BIOS 2.08 hates my nVidia 3090 Ti FE GPU, i got rid of the LOOP and the hang on the logo and 92 code, i finally got in to BIOS, I kept clearing the CMOS, so i had to use the HDMI cable to the motherboards HDMI port in order to get any display, not sure where to go from here, hm. Motherboard will not recognize the GPU now, aarrgghhh. Will downgrade to 2.06 and see whats that about.

Yes, I agree with this 100%. Fast Boot should be disabled by default, not enabled. Same with Secure Boot and TPM... disabled by default, but available if someone wants it. Why do we have to follow what Intel says if the option is available for the end user to choose to do what Intel says if they don't like doing things the right way? It's more convenient to make the defaults the defaults and avoids issues like the GPU display output not working in the BIOS.

Well I didn’t see that suddenly need to disable fast boot and/or tpm. I haven’t really used my computer much since updating to 2.06. No d gpu, connected via hdmi from igpu. I updated to 2.08 and got the 92 code bios lock. Everything is set to default xmp with a whopping 5200mhz for ram. I was able to do bios flash back with old 1gb sd card attached to usb reader with bios 2.08. Still got the 92 error. Then I changed to bios 2.06 with same sd card and now booting and working fine. I really want 2.08 because of pl2 limit. I’m definitely minority but I have itx setup and appreciate to set pl2 to 150 or less to reduce heat. And one day when I retire it, I will go nuts and overclock til it melts. Right I just need stock with heat control. Oh yeah I did cmos reset pulled power etc etc many many many times just to rule out that could fix code 92. Nope.

Hi, I am having an odd issue where my board will only lid up 3 out of 4 stick of ram on boot. Sometimes it goes to BIOS screen and show the message of Memory change but if I just say no and boot all 4 of 4 ram sticks are read just fine. Will this be fixed in 2.08 or is this one of those odd issues. Regards,

Stuck on boot code 92 after flashing from 2.06 to 2.08. Had to flashback to 2.06 to boot. Will skip this one. Seems like many others experienced this "code 92" problem. Z690 classy 13700k

May I ask how you did this? I had the same issue with my 12900k. I just used the bios switch to enter another one but like to downgrade the bios section to 2.06 again. Is there an option to copy the bios from each other?

Hey guys, just recently got my Z690 Dark KingPin with a 13700KF up and running. But, I did run into a bug in the last two BIOS versions (2.06 and 2.08). I haven't upgraded my PCI-e 3.0 riser cable (4.0 version inbound) just yet, well with the RTX4090 installed in said riser cable, BIOS still chooses to use a Gen 4 connection. This lead to freezing in posts and lagged out UFI interface. But once I changed the setting in the BIOS to Gen 3.0, issue is no longer there. Anyways, just wanted to let you all know... Otherwise latest BIOS has been good for me.

Running into the same code 92 issue, never had a bios act up like this, tried all the fixes without success, seems EVGA needs to pull this one until they figure out a fix, 2.06 works fine.

Hello everyone. I have a question. 2.08 cannot recognize U.2 SSD well. I am using a P3600 U.2 solid state running under 2.08BIOS and cannot read the data in the hard disk. The prompt needs to be formatted. After restarting again, it prompts that the formatting failed. Switched to 2.03-2.05BIOS SSD without any issues. The failure of SSD and cable has been ruled out. The BIOS has been restored to default. The problem still exists. Has anyone else encountered the same situation?

Same thing happened to me with a 3080. Was getting quite frustrating thinking it was my RAM, but this was also my fix. Hopefully this helps other people with PCIe Gen 3 risers.
