Classified is equal to budget boards.
But not to the price range competitors like Z690-F Strix and Z690 Master, they both able to run higher memory clocks stable

So you bought 4 dimm board, uncommon cheap dimms, only one 12gen cpu
and expect to overlock and work well ? sorry but ADL/RPL is pay to win

What are you talking about, you dont know nothing
i have MSi Unify-X, Z690-F Strix, Z690 Master and other boards
12600k/12900ks/13600k and all memory IC's

Here is broken Z690 Classified 2.08 with 13600k + a-die, not able to do even 6800
This board runs worse with 13th gen, that is unbelivable and im not the only one who can confirm this.

Here is Z690-F Strix
Can be stabilized at 7200 with 12600k, i didnt even spent 5 minutes to tune vdd2/tx
from the first try VDDQ TX 1.20 & VDD2 1.33

Z690-F Strix + M-die 6800 stable
Z690 Classified + M-die 6400 only
A-die Z690-F - 7200
A-die Z690 Classified - 7000
A-die Z690 Clssified + 13th gen - 6600

Great work on this bios, one stick can post 9000+, here is 8400c34 2.5b - easier to stabilize compared to previous versions:

Nice! You have a very good CPU sample with a strong IMC (crummy IMC is often an area of weakness for many 12th and 13th Gen CPUs with otherwise good silicon) and also really good memory silicon. Congratulations. That just does not happen with "average" parts.

Thank you! Yes, the CPU is binned and it's a good 13900K sample, but the sticks are not, just random OEM greens on air. Maybe I had luck.

The generic green Hynix M-die and A-die sticks have always been better for me than the retail garbage. Not having to deal with their silly heatsinks heating blankets, sloppy XMP profiles and rainbow puke is just an added bonus.

Finally i can do a conclusion of max stable mem OC. Three kits of Samsung-B, three of Hynix-M and two Hynix-A on Classified with two 12600k and one 12900ks
So max stable frequency limit on 12gen with this board is: Samsung B-die 6200, Hynix M-die 6400, Hynix A-die 7000
Very poor result, if you ask me(C)
Vince said to me that Z690 Classified is not his project and he dont have any relation to this board, lol. Thats why Classy is behaving like a cheap board

What do you mean by Samsung B-Die 6200 maximum???

What are you talking about, you dont know nothing

you tried only one 13600k that could be a dud mem controller
only had z690 unify-x as valuable board to try ur stuff on
and looks like u want 5minute working high freq
not how ddr5 works
its painful and consumes time, effort and gear to actually achieve stuff

also, use gsat or windows to test stuff?

I'm going crazy with the overclocking of the memories, going to 2.08 I didn't boot at 7400, which I was able to do with 2.06 even if it was not stable, so I tried 7200 but I didn't pass ycruncher. So I decided to go back to 2.06 but the overclock that I was able to stabilize before is now very unstable, I have no idea what happened

MC/SA PLL - 1.02
ODTs - 34-48-48-40-34
Use BIOS 2.08, it’s good. Thank me later XD.

(Those settings work well on both my i7 and i9, and solve re-training stability even at 7400-7800.)

Update, I have gone back to bios v1.15 with my 12900k Classified. Bios v2.08 boots to bios every startup with memory has change and VMD and cpu has changed errors and with an annoying amount of coil whine that is louder when moving my mouse. I do not experience any of these issues with bios v1.15. I wish Eleet X1 fan control would work with bios v1.15.

As an update, both Z690 BIOS updates have been upgraded to official release from Beta (no changes to the files).

I decided to update from 2.06 to 2.08 and now all I get is an error code 92. The screen will not proceed. I ended up switching to bios 2 and updating it to 2.06 to get my rig running. Do I need to have a 13th gen cpu to upgrade to 2.08? If so, does that mean that there are no more updates that will improve my 12th gen? Or did I do something wrong when I updated bios 1? I had no power failures and the update process completed successfully, except that it won't boot now.

Everything is stable with bios 2.06
i9-12900k
3090FE
G.Skill DDR5 6400 x 32 GB (running in xmp1)

***Update***
I decided to dig out the driver usb that came with the motherboard and put the 2.08 update on it. I then put it into the usb flash port and set my bios to number 1. Pushed the power button and it booted! The only thing I can think of is that the original 2.08 I downloaded was put on a external usb hard drive and flashed from there. When the computer restarted either it couldn't access that drive and it still need something for the first boot after updating or those horrible gremlins were done screwing with me LOL
Either way, happy that I still have all three bios available for future screw ups.

First, just got 13900ks, tried on Z690 Classy with 2.08 ( default) in many ways but wont boot to window, stuck at window blue green and reboot, it happened same when roll back 2.06.
Then put back my 12900ks it works normally with 2.06 but I got same code 92 when updated to 2.08 from 2.06 . Have no idea!

Did you clear CMOS when you installed the 13900KS? You'd want to do that and restore defaults in BIOS, turn off safe boot, restart, then apply any additional settings.

Oddly enough on 2.08 my Ring Clock keeps downclocking to 4.5Ghz (when set to 4.9 or 5.0). Not sure why. Offsets for AVX are both at 0, and I don't see a ring down bin setting. I'm sure it's something simple...what am I missing?

I think you may need to disable some things on the CPU configuration menu to stop that stupid nonsense from happening. Disable all TVB items. If that is not enough to stop it, try disabling c-states.

That makes sense. I figure it's one of these https://imgur.com/a/nG3ifHa (this is a screenshot i took prior to updating to 2.08, so I know there's a couple of new settings now).

Should i just disable all C-states?

I just set up my system with 13900k and got the 2.08 bios installed on the USB but i've had difficulty getting anything to display on my monitor. I get the A6 code on my mobo which from what i gather is i'm in the BIOS but i'm still not able to see anything on my Alienware aw3418dw (2017) monitor. I've tried unplugging everything, resetting CMOS, using both HDMI 2.1 and displayport 1.4, updating to the latest bios as mentioned above but nothing. Any recommendations on how to proceed? Should i try using some prior bios? I tried following the same exact instructions as the following video "How to update bios Evga z690 Classified" from Youtube but still did not get it to work.

1. Maybe the best option is, flashing v2.06 first; then simply updating to newer ones via BIOS after that  (BIOS Installation within BIOS From the BIOS, navigate to the EXTRAS tab at the upper left and click on "BIOS Update" EVGATech_LeeM).

2. The Clear CMOS button, and the time and sequence at which u said u used it, may be important too. But still, hopefully ^^ plus below should be enough info...

3. See: Khronos_18's Youtube vid from post #19 on this thread or just use the following link:
How to update bios Evga z690 Classified
^^ is worth a million words.

Edit: (oops... just noticed u had already seen Khronos_18's vid. sry!)
But listening to the vid entirely may explain how 2.03 1st, is better. (not v2.06, sry i should have said v2.03 ^^. seems to be a new BIOS every week.lol)  i think Khronos_18 couldn't flash v2.06 but v2.03 he could. and pay attention to the multiple BIOS versions Khronos_18 has and how he switched to BIOS position 2 after starting on position 1. (HolosTrikster, obviously u can't do anything like that yet, but i believe Khronos_18 explains various probs and what to do.) And starting a new thread and point back to these posts on this one too can be helpful. Plus be sure to create a signature (see link below). GL

Note: ^^ should be watched and listened to in its entirety. Don't skip anything.  Khronos_18's vid is A+, #1, top notch and a 10!!! I've watched it at least 8 times from beginning to end and feel i could flash bios in my sleep.  (A reference to Khronos_18 being very tired while making the vid at the end on his day.)

If u still have problems, be sure to help ppl help u, by using *link* for creating an EVGA Forum signature.
Feel free to copy/edit my signature.

Re: Beta BIOS for Z690 DARK K|NGP|N (2.08) / CLASSIFIED (2.08) [13900KS support and more] 2023/01/21 03:42:24 (permalink)

They marked this official release and we still have problems with display output.

I never had the problem on 2.06, downgrading back to 2.06 was the only solution for me.

So my expierence: When i was on 12700kf i can boot 7200, benchs 7000, and full stable on 6600
when i upgrade on 13700kf i can only 6400 bootable 6800, benchable 6600:) nice upgrade nice board

This bios is a disaster. Code 92 stuck at boot. E1 can't do bios flashback. Still has bug with A770 that double enters when pressing enter.

had to flash back to 2.06 which I guess is 2.07 w/ backported changes. my eVGA USB is also dead. doesn't detect in other computers.

B0baganoosh  Yeah  i did clear CMOS and experienced all similar issues in this forum but issue still exist, seems like this Z690 classy is one of the worst one among evga Mboards.

Thanks for the advice, however I managed to find the problem and it was the Vddq voltage that somehow was set too high and my imc didn't like it, by lowering it I was able to stabilize without too many problems 7400c34

People just have expectations too high.
I have an A-Die here that somehow struggled but i was lazy enough to use a laying around M-Die at 7000 1t and forget about it
What is the performance loss? I dont think is much..
Look my 3090ti riftbreaker score (i have no gpus atm, waiting an oportunity so i cant retest)

Most cpu times i saw is 11.5 to 13.0 , doubt 7000 c30 1t against 8000 c34 2t increases alot..
We bought a board that was optimized for mdie and adl at the time
my fmax oc was 7200c30 1t, and if tryhard 7400 is possible but im using 7000c32 cause of
vdd 1.45 vddq 1.45 tx 1.4 is too insane low to ignore, was using vdd 1.55 vddq 1.45 for barely any gain..

After updating to 2.06 a few days ago I've had issues with hardlocks and the GPU fans go to 100%. Maybe once every 2 days or so. Anyone else?

Is this also happening on Bios 2.08. I only have used 2.05 and 2.08 to date and with 2.08 I have not seem any issues.

The claim is that this board and the cheapest board show similar results .. gigabyte had similar problems, but they did not deny, they fixed it in November. Why you talk about 8k, if we just want like 7200-7600
